@embrace123ful stretch another muscle to your pain tolerance. get a good feel at how a healthy muscle hurts with stretching. Then stretch your thigh. if it's the same, chill and just keep the stretch for as much as you can tolerate.
if you feel the pain is very located and different from the normal from the stretch pain, give it a week, with some very light stretching (before it even starts to hurt) then, after a week, see if the pain is still there. If so, go see a physician.
@embrace123ful just be careful. I'm not a physician, but that's what I'd do. Just remember that injury pain usually stings instead of just hurting. It suddenly squeals for you to stop, instead of the normal progressive urge to stop that normal pain gives.
@express375 yeah, before and after. You'll see you can stretch alot further after you're warm. And if you're into leg weight lifting too and eventually even martial arts, you'll see how much faster (and higher, not like that matters though) you can kick if youhave warmed up before. It all just feels like you're light as a feather :)
@rickymurrayj It must be the camera angel .. I checked after reading this and they are the same, at least close enough so that you can tell a difference without heroic efforts.
Thanks for the nice comment and education. :) . I had to Google Parkour. I think you could do it before or after.
The current most accepted thoughts on stretching are to do them after activities. Personally, I think it depends on how demanding, and ballistic the activity is. I like to do my cardio, and stretch before lifting, if I"m going heavy. Listen to your body, experiment and see what works and feels best for you. You can even do both if you want to improve flexibility.l
@actualizeU when you do cardio first your body warms up so you can indeed stretch safely and effectively before lifting. Deep stretches without the warmup are bad for your muscles, they will actually just get stiffer. That's why stretches are advised after activity, be cause activity warms them up.
Should I be able to NORMALLY strench far as you do, or do I just need more practising? I did alot strenching with a stick before I started to build up my body, but I forgot to strench because I had to concentrate and come up with a good routine with all muscle groups to get results I wanted, but even I don't remember been ever able to strench like you do!
Stretching has it's limitations due to the white tissue that covers the muscles. Stretching before exercising causes that muscle covering to expand slightly which allows more blood to be pumped into the muscles. The more you stretch the more this covering of the muscle will expand over time. So you probably won't be able to stretch very far at first, but over the coming weeks and months you'll notice yourself stretching further and fruther as this muscle covering expands over time.
You can do it for either.. I designed it for a before or after workout stretch.. I know the current thought seems to be it's better to stretch after a workout, but I do find sometimes I do a better job and have less join discomfort if I stretch before. I guess it's best to do both before and after, but we don't always have the time...
Thanks comment :) I'm glad you like it.. I set this routine up for clients 5 yrs ago and most people seem to benefit from it. But they have trouble remembering all the steps so I thought this video would help :)
thank you sir, effective ways to stretch indeed.

Great video. I've come to conclusion that I should be stretching before lifting weights. Read some info from Ian King, but like to follow a video.
This look effective, and not to time consuming,so I should stick to it.
Thanks
