  • We had a haunting ghazal evening of Rajendra & Nina Mehta, long ago in Abu Dhabi. It was mostly about the partition days and its hardships. Everyone's eyes were in tears. An unforgettable evening with Indians, Pakistanis and Bangladeshis. No one wanted us to be separated.

  • I am soo sad to know that Jagjit Singh has passed to the ages..his demise was not even reported by the western-centric media here. I have been a fan since I was 10. his music has suddenly become even more profound.

  • You are Ultimate Sir Jagjit Singh

  • YES NO NOE CAN TAKE HIS PLACE HE WAS GREAT SINGER /KAKI/USA

  • Jagjit Singh was such a great singer. Love this ghazal. I was born in Saudi Arabia and came to Canada at age 8. I am originally from Bangladesh. Whenever I listen to this ghazal... I think about South Asia... India before the partition. When India was one... without any divisions. I wish British never ruled India. They divided us. Pakistan, India and Bangladesh are all equally beautiful.

  • @shilpa88888 My Dear Brother, You are very brave to make such a statement. I too feel the the same way as you do. I call the partition of India the "Great Divide" A country and its people torn apart by diffrent ideologies planted in the minds of the weak by the British invaders who had no answer for our "UNITY"! The wanted us to fail as a "Nation"! They destroyed our Mother Land and divide our race. the Mother Land will always will be in our hearts forever!

  • @shilpa88888 Your unifying message is beautiful..Thank you

  • @shilpa88888 , sure you can build a temple in saudi , can you. fucking sand niggers.

But pain and suffer was so deep, they can't afford and get divorse letter.

i wish all the best for both of them.

  • world class

  • very best

  • Ohh Goshhh!! Its soo true..tomorrow is holi the full moon night and I am here in London..so far away from my home... :((

Missing those moon lit nights.. mmm i wish I cd go back away from this hussul buzzel

  • here chand is symbolic ...means, "Beloved"..

  • @SMohinder is it symbolic...i thought Chand here is literally only... although the meaning conveyed is different... remembering once land or place while is one out of it, for whatever reason.... it doesnt necessary mean just missing beloved.

  • @bobbyfaith u r right in part but in Gazals every line while conveying and retaining the same sense touches different areas and circles of life...this is one of the Shairy thing...the poets deal with their expertise....here every paragraph conveys different longng for...such as homeland, beloved .....one can see moon here but if u miss someone the interpretation will be different....

  • @unibond01 I think U didn't understand he say at raat he watches chandh but at din it is not there therefore din is chandh bina
