I never wanted a cat, but since i've heard about oriental shorthairs, i flatout changed my mind, and yours is exactly the kind of cat I would love to have. It's also very relieving to see you use a leash. The reason why I love them is because of their forehead/nasal lines, they are convex when viewed from the side and very slendy. Looks exactly like me actually :) And I'm a egyptian history freak so cats from these times looked alot like orientals.

Your pictures and videos are always in focus and the still shots never show them with redeye. What brand of camera are you using to film them? Most of the time I have redeye in my cats pictures. Your videos are a joy to watch and its obvious you love your cats. Im sorry for your loss of Precious.

my siamese oriental passed away 3 days ago and i am so heart broken she had a beautiful personality her name was sheo for short hair ebony oriental i would like to get another one like her. I live in new york if anyone knows any breeders or has a website i can go to please help me out. i know this wont replace her but i would love to have another cat just like her thank you.

I know the heartbreak- and i am so sorry for your loss. But you should look at getting a cat from Siamese Rescue depending where you are. When one of my siamese from a bonded pair passed away, I got a companion for him from Siamese Rescue ( just google it. ) She is the very best and most beautiful girl! And you will be saving a life. WOW, what an absolutely beautiful cat! I love the lines of the Oriental shorthair, and have always been a sucker for black kitties.

My own (non-pedigreed, DSH, ex-shelter kitten) black cat has walked on a leash since she was a kitten. She is also gorgeous & completely rules the house + the other 2 male cats! Thanks for sharing this vid. Cool song, too!

No, none of my cats are being allowed outside on their own.

I think there are to many risks like getting hit by a car, get stolen, get poisened and deseases..

They are sometimes allowed in our own fenced garden, but only if we are there too to keep an eye on them. They all listen very well.

I bought a cat stroller for my siameses and would take them out, they really enjoyed it. People would stop in their cars and start talking to me about it. haha

I now am a proud owner also of my first Oriental Shorthair and he is my favorite! He's a spotted red head and I could not be happier with his personality. Itty Bitty looks like a mini Puma, and has that mystical presence, a very cool cat!

All oriental shorthair cats are supposed to have green eyes. And walking with a cat is not ridiculus. To don't care at all and let him out by himself and just hope he'll survive the day is, though.

FYI, he doesn't get anywhere close to cars and where he gets out is a little paradise for cats. It's multiple backyards of several houses, and he is not the only cat. The only "danger" is him fighting with another one, he once got his ear torn a bit, nothing too serious, just bleeding, especially when we shook his head :D

If cats fight they can get FIV or FeLV which are deadly diseases. FIV and FeLV are highly contagious viruses that may be transmitted from cat to cat. FIV is spread mostly via a bite from one cat to another. FeLV is spread via contact with the saliva or urine of an infected cat.
