Great narration, that stuff is good, the reader feels like they are in those places. Wainaina has described the scenery of Nakuru so well, that I can actually visualize it, having spent 2 years in Nakuru, I can almost tell the location of their home; Milimani! Good stuff! His other book, "One day I will write about this place" is a must read.
