His career high in goals was 32 and he only reached the 30 goal mark twice in his career.

I agree. Also 6'5 250lb defensemen are a dying breed these days. A few years ago, you couldn't compete without a few huge bodies on the blue line. Teams playing the neutral zone trap made up for the lack of speed on defense. Now, speed on defense is almost more important than on offense with all of the new rules. Players like Crosby,Ovechkin,and Malkin would have been much less effective in the NHL of the 90's
