  • Oh you wonderful, wonderful woman! Thank you!

  • I wonder how much $25 was worth back then....

  • @yomie100

A working man's regular wages were around $400 / month. That was petty good money at that time.

A regular chocolate bar 10 cents

A bottle of Coke 5 cents (plus 2 cent deposit)

    A gallon of gasoline < 25 Cents.

    A new house around $10,000

$25 was a fair amount of money in 1959.

  • @Avillageidiot59 I think the candy bars were a nickel a lot of the time then, actually. they went up to a dime in the 60s where i lived...

  • @hornyfilmproduction1 This is the 1956 movie starring Sandra Dee as Gidget. The TV series staring Sally Field as Gidget aired in 1965 and it was based on this movie.

  • @LilFireFox You're forgetting that this is in the 50's when $25 was pretty high.. A new car was only a few hundred dollars.. :)

  • 25 dollars, you would have thought she was asking for a brand new car..LOL

  • "HELP! HELP! HELP! I'm drowing in oil!"

  • Watching the world in America before it got too big and fast for it's own good reminds me things used to make sense, there was an order to everything. Send me back.

  • @N1k1mon well dont get too nostalgic... the 50s also had racism and skanks like Marilyn Monroe and Bettie Page. not much different than today, but I agree- Gidget is the classy, confident girly girl girls today are not! they think they're all sexy, "rebellious" tomboys and care too much what guys think, who take advantage of that.

  • @LiloPelakaiWhat did Bettie Page or Marilyn do to hurt anyone. You are right about the racism, which is certainly alive and well today.

  • i love it thank you!!!

  • thanks for uploading - this is a classic (:

ooh that water always looks so good - and gidget is pretty too. i loovoee her accent ahahah

  • moondoggie is hot!

  • @purple13elle chyeaaaah he is :P but i think his board shorts are too tight sometimes xD

  • @purple13elle gidget would get it

  • @purple13elle you only say that cuz you're supopsed to think so ;p

  • @purple13elle i agree

  • Wow. Things were so much more innocent bach then...

  • I really doubt many girls want that now.

  • i LOVE THE BEACH,

  • $25 for a used surfboard wow if only I had time machine.

  • @Eseercam

considering inflation and the rise of dollar in the last couple of decades that would roughly compute to about 200-300 of today's dollars. So you and your 22 pals who gave you thumbs up should kind of recap on your math and reality.... dude.

  • @Eseercam If you had a time machine, you would also have to take all of your money back with you, because you would probablly earn less if things cost less.

  • $75 for a new board????

Holy crap...I wish I lived back then. Even used boards run around $500 nowadays!

  • Really??!!?? That's insane!

  • $500! You better start shortboarding...way cheaper.

    Or learn to shape.

  • thx for the upload
