Hey dumbass,Marino made the playoffs 10 times and his ass kicked 10 times, hahahahah.Marino only had 6 seasons of 10 wins or more. Most of his records are GONE,as he is just another QB who SHIT ON HIMSELFin the big game.Do you even watch FOOTBALL????You sure dont know shit about it,do you?Its a real shame you had to grow up with Dan as your hero as you would have on your Dan 13 jersey on the sofa every sunday and heartbreak was right around the corner. Now look what you have grown up to be???
Hey dipshit miafan89.Elway has a ring so dont place him in the same sentence as Marino.Shula and Johnson were both superbowl winning coaches and they could not drag Marino's shitbag talent to win a superbowl.i know you are pissed becouse you spent countless dollars buying his crap and years rubbing your nuts while sunday after sunday he would get his ass handed to him.Every year it was this excuse and that excuse for him crying like a damn baby.SUCK IT,LOSER
@Hattiesburg4 Was I even talking to you? No I wasn't so eat a fucking dick. Btw Shula & Marino have the record for wins together as QB and Head coach, oh and why don't u fuck off with jimmy johnson because he had an all star team in Dallas, something Marino never had you clueless piece of shit.
@miafan89 Hey cumstick,Shula and Marino SHOULD of had the record as Marino played all those years and 6 or 7 wins a year adds up you STUPID FUCK!!!!!!!!!.You are just another Marino nut washer who lives his worthless life thinking Marino will make your sorry ass life worth a shit,HAHAHAHHAHA.Get out of your moms basement and get a life you piece of shit!!!!!!!
@Hattiesburg4 haha ok faggot, that just means Marino was actually loyal to his team instead of being some punkass ring chaser like you see nowadays. Btw, Marino made it to postseason ever a dozen times, not just '6 or 7 wins a year'. He once held 35 NFL records, most of which still stand today, and you think he sucked? So why don't you suck rickatart's dick because you're an embarrasment to real NFL fans you fucking degenerate.
Taking nothing away from Marino most of his passes where more than 10 yds ,Montana,Farve most passes where underneath they dink and donk you to death so to speak and wait for you to make a mistake, miss tackle, bring the safties up etc,Marino never had a great running game or great Defense around him good but never great that was not his fault he put up numbers with average teams around him when teams where preparing for him alone as the threat
So many parallels between Marino and Manning. Manning has had slow stretches with Indy like Marino had with Miami in regards to team sucess.. And like Marino, there have been times when Manning has had to carry the entire team on his back. We can "What if" this to death...but bottom line...put in the worst situation with average tools...or lets say, give the Dan a Ford to do a Chevy's job, and he'll come out on top every time due to simply pure God given QB ability. THE GREATEST EVER.

Jimmy Johnson wanted to trade his sorry ass for a new clipboard and some towels but too many deluded IDIOTS like YOU wouldn't let him.
@rickatart Wow you're a fucking retard. You could ask anyone who actually knows something about football and they'll tell you guys like bradshaw, namath, dilfer, doug williams etc aren't even on the same page as Marino, even though they have 'rings'. @miafan89 ...I have socks older than you asshole, so I'm not gonna waste time explaining why Marino is a washed up loser. HE is the reason he has ZERO championships. Have a merry Christmas.
@rickatart I don't give a rat's fat ass how old you are, just keep up with the bullshit talk about having rings. You can take Trent Dilfer, Mark Rypien, Brad Johnson and the rest of those hacks and I'll take Dan Marino, John Elway, Dan Fouts, and Warren Moon- QBs with actual talent. Your ignorance about football shines through.
@rickatart Why because he only has two rings? He lost his 3 first super bowls you clown. If Elway lost to Green Bay and Atlanta you would be talking the same shit like you do with Marino. I thought someone like you who is omniscient about football would already know that, fucker.
@miafan89 Marino has bathtub rings and thats it. Elway had a better arm, was mobile and was not a pansy like Marino. Get over it. 62-7. hahahahahahahaaaa!

Dan Marino had a QB Relationship with Mark Clayton alot like Joe Montana to Jerry Rice except Marino had Had Double the skill of Montana and Rice had double the skill of Clayton. Not to mention the 49ers were an all star team with nothing but talent.
theres a video on here where Dolphins were playing the cheifs and Dan dierdorf said " Joe Montana orchestrates on offense.. Marino Dominates on offense"
People have to remember that Marino played at a time where you could commit murder on receivers going downfield. There was no such thing as "timing patterns" as we know them nowadays. It was simply your receiver getting open and your QB hitting them. Based on pure passing ability, Marino is simply untouchable. I think Manning is the best ever, but a lot of his numbers are due to the fact that he can throw timing patterns to guys who can't even be brushed up against past 5 yards.
@dmac14af I totally agree with you about how its played now days. when manning retires, he prolly will be considered the best ever, because of his numbers and the RING. the way he commands the offense on the line, calling and changing plays, reminds me exactly of how marino played. one can only imagine what would be had marino played during this time with mannings weapons.
If you had to build a team from ground zero, and you had to pick a Qb, knowing probably the top 5 WRs ever wouldnt be avaiable, would you still pick Montana?? I wouldnt.. Marino#1
@theEntertainmentonly. I wont say Montana wasnt a great Qb. Unitas was before my time so ill take it by heresay.. But i put Marino and Elway ahead of Montana, Brady and Manning. Montana's niners was stacked with hall of fame talent OFF & DEF. Marino was way better at analyzing and ripping defenses apart better than Montana.Had Montana and Marino were to switch places in their careers, im sorry, Montana wouldn accomplish even half of what Marino had done.
Everyone knows if there was a draft that had all the great QBs in NFL history at 23 years old, and we knew how good they would be but there acolades including how many super bowls they win is not predetermined, Marino goes #1 without hesitation.
If you gave Marino the weapons Manning or Brady or Montana have or had, his stats would be so godlike they would build churches and cathedrals were you could go worship and pray to him.
@MrBigGuy1989 That's Sacriligious and Blasphemous to God but lol yes it would have happened lol not that its right lol but it would be like Maradona in Argentina who has his own unholy church. lol
that one made me laugh good one. Dan Marino Number #1 forever. Check out the number one records he still has on part 1 of this video under the blog post.
What is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING to me is the amount of velocity and drive he gets into the ball without much effort or even his feet properly set. Most QB's today, especially Manning drives off his plant leg. Marino never even bothered. Here is to Dan Marino, the Greatest of ALL Time.
If you look back during the playoff games gainst Buffalo, one in particular you will realize no one could ever make those impossible throws. With severe pressure and severe blizzard weather.
It is in those moments you realize Dan is the Best Quaterback Ever : )
LOL Manning is not better than Marino LOL neither is Brett Favre LOL
Marino has quickest release ever. His record of 16 games for over 400 yards passing will never be beat . Dan Marino was offered the job with the Vikings but he retired with Honor as a Dolphin. That shows Honor and Loyalty. Favre should have retired as a Packer.
Favre has no Honor & no Loyalty.
"The King of Interceptions" that's how Brett Favre will be remembered
Dan Marino = best ever, you don't see quarterbacks do what he did. Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Ben Rothlisberger, etc. have nothing on him, they may have broken some of his records but that is threw these broken rules that give quarterbacks the ability to basically never get hit. Watching this video has proved to me that football now a days is just a lost sport, no one tries as hard as they are supposed to. You can see how much these old guys tried and succeeded. But ill just have to liv with it
I don't understand how people choose superbowls as way to measure the intangibles of qb. He put up at the very least 3 td's a game, it wasn't his fault that our defense crumbled when it meant the most.
He just may have been. You have to take into account that, with Miami's lack of a serious running attack, teams knew Marino was going to throw 30 to 40 times per game, and he still shredded them. A Steeler was quoted as saying, of the '84 AFC championship game, that Pittsburg knew what the Dolphins' offence was going to do on every down, but there was nothing they could do to stop them.
I was one of many who felt Shula wasted Marino's best years and needed to be replaced with Jimmy Johnson. To every Dolphin fan alive from '96 on back I apologize for that now! Johnson won in Dallas with another team's draft in Minnesota's. Barry Switzer won with that Cowboy team. I could have won with it. Tuna and Sparano are going to bring winning ways back!
Dan Marino is one of the GREATEST qbs EVER!!!!!!!!!
Mark Duper, Mark Clayton, Nat Moore and any other receiver that was lucky enough to be on the receiving end of one of his rockets...oh man what a great day it was in the N.F.L:D
NO human being has ever thrown the football better than Dan Marino. All the other stuff is bull$hit. Rings are won by teams, not individuals, in football. No one has ever thrown the football better than Dan Marino. Period.
I'll agree with that. Also, I would add this. Shula wasted Marino's best years with drafts like Jackie Shipp, Jay Brophy, Eric Kumerow, John Bosa, Rick Graf, Lorenzo Hampton, and Sammie Smith!
Oh, the bad memories you've stirred up...LOL. Shula=one of the all-time great football coaches. Shula=in over his head as GM. Great point, tho'. We can only fantasize about what Dan would've done with a really good RB.
I have lived, died, laughed, and cried with this team since they last won it all, but after what Johnson did against Jacksonville, I became very frustrated and cynical. Tuna and Sparano have renewed my enthusiasm.
Quite arguably the best quarterback ever. I'll go out on a limb here and say that I believe he is and always will be the best quarterback ever. Peyton Manning would be a close second, but will never measure up to what Dan Marino accomplished in his career, despite never winning a Super Bowl. Dan's the Man as far as I'm concerned.
As a Niner fan Ive been blessed with Montana, Young and even Garcia for awhile but will always know that Dan Marino is the G.O.A.T, with or without a title. Accurate Cannon arm with a fast release, no speed and still barely got sacked. 1 of a kind
" Once in a while, there comes a 5y old , which can play Motzart on the piano... Once in a while there comes a Dan Marino, who can pick up a football and make history "
The "Marks Brothers" were amazing. So underrated. Duper was the prototypical home-run deep threat. Clayton was the brilliant route runner. What a tandem.
Thanks so much for sharing, brings back alot of memories of one of the greats of our time...well my time anyway. It was nice to see some of the early clips where Dan could still move around freely in the pocket. To one of the greatests ever!!! Cheers!!!!
You gotta remember Marino played in an era when it was not pass happy like it is now. He played when it was mainly run the ball and hard nose defense. He was the only guy putting 3,000 and 20TD just about every season for over a decade.
Its amazing how tight the coverage is on a lot of his passes, especially later in his career. An example of why he is the greatest passer in NFL History.

Top 3 reasons Dan the man didnt get a fucking ring....
3. No real RB
2. Average Defense at best
Number 1 fucking reason.....
Buffalo Bills oh and Joe Montana and the SF machine

Quite arguably the best quarterback ever. I'll go out on a limb here and say that I believe he is and always will be the best quarterback ever. Peyton Manning would be a close second, but will never measure up to what Dan Marino accomplished in his career, despite never winning a Super Bowl. Dan's the Man as far as I'm concerned.

As a Niner fan Ive been blessed with Montana, Young and even Garcia for awhile but will always know that Dan Marino is the G.O.A.T, with or without a title. Accurate Cannon arm with a fast release, no speed and still barely got sacked. 1 of a kind

Marino is the greatest his best receivers
1. Mark Clayton
2. Mark Duper
3. Irving Fryar
4. OJ McDuffie
5. Keith Jackson

The "Marks Brothers" were amazing. So underrated. Duper was the prototypical home-run deep threat. Clayton was the brilliant route runner. What a tandem.

What's the name of the first music? By the way, Marino is one of the best quarterbacks ever to play.

NFL became "pass happy" BECAUSE of him....
StupidShouldHurtBad 2 years ago
Its amazing how tight the coverage is on a lot of his passes, especially later in his career. An example of why he is the greatest passer in NFL History.
