This looks awesome, and not just because it's rare, I mean this really looks more technically impressive and interesting than a lot of games released. It's crazy that a game so far in development [i.e finished!] never got released. Especially when it got hyped up by magazines and such, to not even get picked up by another publisher is just mind blowing! That would never happen today, gone are the days of hidden gems I guess, or maybe they are just hidden better. :P
ok... so a some green michilen tire guy kidnaps some guy in a labcoat and a little girl (pervert) and kicks their pet monkey then the monkey drinks some stuff from the air and turns into some ripoff of sonic that looks like some thin sasqautch on steroids and gets bounced of a cliff by 1000 pounds of sumo and has to punch the pervert in the face....GENIUS
Looks like it would've been a nice Shadow of the Beast clone...fun game that was. I liked the engarish. And the soundtrack isn't too bad ethier. Nice mix of side-scroll platforming, exploration and beat-em up elements. 8/10 from me!
Had it been released (even though the SNES was already available) the franchise itself most certainly would have gained a fan base and possibly a cult following.
This is barely a game. It looks like this is more of a tech demo. It really seems they focused on a couple things: incredibly smooth scrolling, and amazing animations. Enemy placement? bah! Tight controls? Bah! Level design? Double bah! I realize that this is a proto, and if I had to guess, I would bet that this was thrown together to shop around for funding. But at this point, the SNES was released, so Bio Force Ape's main selling points were moot. I'm betting that's why this got cancelled.
This can't be NES looks too good performs to well, almost as good as a Genesis game. It scrolls like it had blast processing and the animation is incredible.
@ise1880 i know i was thinking to myself this is the best NES game ive ever seen. the attention to detail, the animation, and the humongous stages. easily the most ambitious NES game out there
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I BET THIS IS AN APRIL FOOLS DAY JOKE FAKE GAME THAT SOME HACKER MADE UP AS THE CHARACTERS ANIMATION IS TOO ADVANCED FOR AN 8 BIT NINTENDO GAME NOT TO MENTION ITS FAST AND DOESNT TAKE AWHILE TO LOAD OR SKIP OR CAUSE ANY MAJOR GLITCHES.
ALSO IT MAKES NO SENSE STORY WISE BUT THIS GAME WOULD PWN IF WAS RELEASED BACK THEN
Looks like it would've been a decent game. The animations were smooth and the music was good, but the first and third stage seemed like a mess to me. And I don't understand why they had to make the map screen split into four parts.
@akgah I think that IF the game WAS COMPLETED and fixed all of the weirdness and made the storyline better, it would've been a good title and would've made SETA famous or well known. He COULD'VE been SETA's mascot.
Aaaah man...in a way, I still almost can't believe it really exists. I think it would have been a sort of cult classic just because of how weird it is alone. Seriously, that kangaroo guy makes it worth watching the video by itself.
This guy is either falling down or going up a hundred stories.
And hey, "best lap"? Do a speedrun!

Damn, the sprite work is INCREDIBLE for a NES game! They must be bank switching like crazy!
PropellerBusted 5 months ago
@PropellerBusted What is bank-switching?
IncorruptableLeaf 5 months ago
@IncorruptableLeaf To quote wikipedia:
"Bank switching is a technique to increase the amount of usable memory beyond the amount directly addressable by the processor."
So if you run out of address space switch banks and you get access to a different set of data. It's hard to explain, read the article!

Also, the music in this game is great!

The speed of this game is almost(key word there, folks) enough to make you wonder if it's actually a Genesis title!

I imagine if this actually did come out and sequels were made, I would say it would eventually play like Hulk Ultimate Destruction.
