@iloverock243 dude ROTC isnt the same as being in the army, dont get me wrong its a good program but if you want to use the "balls" speech you gotta go threw basic training. and because you went to ROCT you will be able to rank up before you leave for basic training. so good for you man/women idk im not making an effort to look lol
@jakerawr101 Lol you amuse me, it’s called working smarter and not harder, and when you say” I’m not making an effort to look” it just tells me how well you must do in the army, if you are even in it, I’m a prior service, and currently working in Charlie Cobras 4-46 Infantry Battalion and if you did not know, to be on INFANTRY you must be a male, I went to basic in the summer of 2009. Lol sometimes people just make an ass out of themselves. lol
@iloverock243 HAHAHA well fuckin good for you man, i cant wait tell basic training :) 83 more long days and my life starts.
you know they are changing the PT test right? im working on getting better at PT but im not sure how much it will do good for basic training. im in the future solider program so hopefully the stuff i learned/will learn will be useful
@jakerawr101 what helped me a lot was to have a humor, don’t take nothing serious, it’s a drill instructors job to make you feel like shit, don’t volunteer for anything and its inevitable you ARE GOING TO GET SMOKED! For no reason at all, basic can be the best time if you have humor,
@iloverock243 if you don’t let’s just say it’s going to be a long ass basic, and believe me after you graduate you will miss it, oh and another thing LEARN the SOLDIERS CREED! It’s going to be handy and learn the army song it will make your life a lot easier. Oh and if you have self-respect you will do PT here so when you get there they don’t put you on the Charlie’s at least run 3 miles per day.
@iloverock243 If you do it well basic it’s fun, if you shave every day and not mess up and take it from me there is no way to not mess up, it’s going to be a great ride Ohhhh and please when they give you an MRE heat it up before you open it!! No matter how much time they give you believe me it’s going to be like 2 minutes heat it up!!! if you dont lets say you wont feel your arms when they get finished with you.lol
@iloverock243 haha i was always the funny guy so i dont think i will take getting yelled at to seriously, ya ill get chewed out, but iv been chewed out before lol. man everyone gets smoked? i thought i would get lucky if i did my best to not be noticed, but i am going to have 1 DI for my whole basic training AND AIT so i guess that was just a fools hope
@jakerawr101In AIT you won’t get smoked… well i did not get smoked, AIT it’s like being in high school you don’t do much but learn, and in basic the last weeks are going to be easy, please never look at a DI in the eyes you will be sorry do PT now!!!!! Or its going to be hell run at least 2 miles per day learn the army song, and the ranks in the army with the soldiers creed if you do this believe me life is going to be easier for you.
@iloverock243 i do PT in my future soldier program once a week and i do some PT on my own. but todays PT with the future soldier program sucked, it was HOT HOT HOT, i was like on the verge of getting a heat stroke (not sweating, could barley jog 10 feet due to couldnt hardly breath) and on top of that my left leg got twisted from taking the dog out for a run lol (didnt tell them about that) we did 2 miles
the eye thing might be a pain lol, i will try me best to use your info as much as i can
Have you even been to Recruit Training? I doubt it. I have seen Recruits completely freeze and cry for their mothers and not get chewed. They don't chew too much on the towers.
Wow, that was one of the worst repels EVER from a technical standpoint!!! I've seen kids in high school JROTC do way better...BTW, how did this fat ass even get into the military? I'd like to see him do the 2-mile run.....
If he is still in...he has done it! Hell...at this point in training....he had done it. Don't knock people when you have yet to see their performance.
You can get past the fear of the tower. Trust me. You start on a small, slanted one before this one....and it's not that bad. If I can do it, you can to.
i didnt even laugh at this guy because he delt with it better then i would. i want to hurry up and get it over with once i go in. heights is my only fear.
there is no way that that is happening....that is the only fear i have ever truly had in my life is heights.....they will straight kill me.....im rly going to tell him im not doing it
@skatr45s I would tell them that BEFORE you get up there and put all of the gear on because they will just push you off. Besides, you will let your entire team down.
LMFAO....that was EXACTLY me....oh man, I gotta stop laughing...EXACTLY what I did, crapped my pants and than when I got halfway down I was like, I wanna do that again
It is much scarier than it looks, had to master this in October 2007 at Ft. Benning. Was scared shitless, but after I did it once, I wanted to go again.
ya everything else doesnt seem to scare me but i know its all gonna be a challenge but the thing thats scarin the shit out me is that tower man, i can not do heights at all. i wont even do rock climbing its that bad. o well its that or fail boot and thats not an option...
i'm happy that you did it...i know some people really freak out with heights so i cant give you too much shit...but if your at Air Assault..you are going to shit your pants when you get to that 90ft Blackhawk Rappel hahaha
The height isn't the killer. We did ours on a Windy day....they cancelled all high obstacles about 15 minutes after I went through due to the wind. The top of that tower shakes and sways like you would not believe. One light soldier on lane 1 actually blew dangerously close to the edge. I weigh a bit...so I made it down with now issues. LOL
i did something close to that in my jrotc raider team i was scared as hell but i learned u have to have confidence in your leaders and your peers thats the whole lesson and if u do it its easy
ya know, it wasnt that bad. I'm afraid of heights and have never repelled in my life, but it was alright. I had the DS yellin at me, hell, he even decided to take out his knife and act liek he was going to cut the rope. But after I did it, i just wanted to keep doin it lol
OMG really lol now im freaking out even more. I know it wont be bad once i get off the edge of the tower, but just thinking about it scares the crap out of me and thinking about a Drill Sargent screaming at me doesnt help....
interesting, in marine recruit training a recruit is not allowed to refer to himself as "I", only as "this recruit". anyway, a lot of people don't like heights, nothing to be ashamed of.
Jesus Christ I hate heights. I don't even like standing on chairs to change a light bulb. Funny as shit though to hear the Drill sarge tell him to get over here cry baby, and scare the shit out of him.
I did this very same tower. I'm not afraid of heights so I thought it was really easy. The gas chamber sucked though...I wonder what Drill SGT. that is in the video?
They give away rank. Every 2 months you can get promoted. That means I get to answer to 12 year-olds as "officers".
As for me, I rejected that luxury. I only allow myself a promotion every 6 months. Not only am I more respected, I'm assigned more tasks. Trust me, CAP won't be as disorganized when I move up the chain of command.
Well, I'll give you some advice for BCT: Always reply with "Yes/No, Drill Sgt.", NEVER say "Sorry, Drill Sgt", Run everywhere instead of walking, SOUND OFF, keep your shit clean, don't procrastinate if you must go to sick call but do not abuse it (no matter how much the DS chastizes you), don't become the cycle's "project", do what you're told, and have fun. Basic isn't as hard as they make it out to be. Hell, I had fun. Where are you going to BCT at? I went to Knox.
oh man , poor guy, i remembered my first time doing it but it was in JROTC when i was a female officer , now i am set for basic training in july at Ft. Jackson.

kid is a little retarded... lol look at the Marines always trying to prove something cuz they are unsure of themselves. hahahaha so pathetic, 75th Ranger Regiment, HOOAH!
@pesmerajan Dude...seriously...I like the marines...but the Army Rangers are trained a lot harder than Marines. Rangers are considered a special operations light infantry force....that "special operations" means a LOT.
@Americanpatriot777 You even looked at his profile? He's not a marine.... He's a kid, his balls probably haven't even dropped yet. I have no room to talk because I'm not in the service. But I'm joining up here in a couple of months, working on getting myself in shape.
@4Tracer I would join Infantry for the army. I joined and I ship out February 15th. You don't have to be in that much of shape, honestly. I can only do 35 push-ups in a minute, and can ran a mile in 6:30. I would just work on running and practicing ruck marches because those will kick your ass at Basic.
@jacobbis4lovers Oh I know lol. I'm really having to work on upper body strength though because of the strength requirements for the UH-60 and Apache repairers. Hopefully I get to repair one of the two. I'll start running once it gets a bit warmer here, it's cold enough that after about 20 minutes of being outside you can't feel anything and your bones ache.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
hahahahahahaha.... jesus christ. i bet the old school ww2 army vets are so pissed seeing these faggots. good thing my corp isn't as worhtless as the army. fags.
That is AWSOME, I love the fact that he got over his fear. Congrats to you young man. Oh, and this old man will be joining you in you fear shortly. :) I am hoping to be on my way to Basic within the next few weeks.
This soldier is being interviewed for a series of news segments re BT. He is saying aloud what many of the soldiers are probably thinking. That was the idea of the series. Otherwise he would have just sat there like the others.
If you are intelligent you don't need to talk like that. It indicates a lack of class and intelligence. You aren't stupid or low class are you?
If you are serving or have served, thank you. My son is in BT right now at FLW, which is why I like these videos.
I'm in JROTC, and we just did a 50 foot rappel, 50 foot open face rappel, and a 30 foot rappel. If we passed the qualification we got a Recondo badge, and all of my platoon got it.
yeah that sucked. it was leaning over the edge that was the worst. having to trust in a rope and a few clamps and someone you don't know on the ground.
Warrior Tower at FT. Leonard Wood is between 40 to 50 feet. Victory Tower at FT. Jackson is between 50-60 feet. Don't worry though, there are professionals out there to make sure your harness is tied and rigged properly. it's fun.
its 40'. the wind is what causes people to freak because it messes with your gear and straps. hang in there. practice now by going onto the roofs of tall buildings and learn how to walk around and do basic movements so you can be ready for the tower.
the drill sergeant handled this really well. You guys are making fun but if you are afraid of heights and you start to freak out it's hard to stop.

Fuck U.S Army Rangers. We could kick your ass any day. Marines, OORAH
Semper Fi!
pesmerajan 1 year ago
@pesmerajan Dude...seriously...I like the marines...but the Army Rangers are trained a lot harder than Marines. Rangers are considered a special operations light infantry force....that "special operations" means a LOT.
Americanpatriot777 1 year ago
@Americanpatriot777 You even looked at his profile? He's not a marine.... He's a kid, his balls probably haven't even dropped yet. I have no room to talk because I'm not in the service. But I'm joining up here in a couple of months, working on getting myself in shape.
4Tracer 1 year ago
@4Tracer I would join Infantry for the army. I joined and I ship out February 15th. You don't have to be in that much of shape, honestly. I can only do 35 push-ups in a minute, and can ran a mile in 6:30. I would just work on running and practicing ruck marches because those will kick your ass at Basic.
jacobbis4lovers 1 year ago
@jacobbis4lovers Oh I know lol. I'm really having to work on upper body strength though because of the strength requirements for the UH-60 and Apache repairers. Hopefully I get to repair one of the two. I'll start running once it gets a bit warmer here, it's cold enough that after about 20 minutes of being outside you can't feel anything and your bones ache.

now any males that ever want to make a comment about females in the military i'd keep your mouth shut after this...

He overcame a fear--that is what it is all about-building confidence.

i earned my dirty mouth. i dont like heights myself, but i didnt babble like a lil baby when i was comming down our tower on PI which was way taller.
mebsce87 3 years ago
This soldier is being interviewed for a series of news segments re BT. He is saying aloud what many of the soldiers are probably thinking. That was the idea of the series. Otherwise he would have just sat there like the others.
If you are intelligent you don't need to talk like that. It indicates a lack of class and intelligence. You aren't stupid or low class are you?
If you are serving or have served, thank you. My son is in BT right now at FLW, which is why I like these videos.
pianogurl826 3 years ago
Also-he isn't actually crying-just talking. The DS says "crying" in reference to what he is saying to the reporters.

I'm in JROTC, and we just did a 50 foot rappel, 50 foot open face rappel, and a 30 foot rappel. If we passed the qualification we got a Recondo badge, and all of my platoon got it.

Good job man!
dboch3716 3 years ago
yeah that sucked. it was leaning over the edge that was the worst. having to trust in a rope and a few clamps and someone you don't know on the ground.
Alexn1067 3 years ago
i did the 80ft rappel...
Metabolic40 3 years ago
like a sturdier version of the 50ft repelling wall i was on in ft indiantown gap and the wind made the entire tower rock back and forth
Razgriz85 3 years ago
HA I did better than that thank god, I didn't want to get yelled at.

FlyGuy412 3 years ago
Oh my gosh.
The Drill seargents would have to be the same way with me, if not harsher.
I'm so scared of heights, I mean, I'd be crying, and begging the D.S.'s not to make me go down LOL But for some odd reason, I want to attempt it.
CapturedByTheGame 3 years ago 2
how tall is the warrior tower cause im about to enlist and im afraid of heights
MysteryX21 4 years ago
Warrior Tower at FT. Leonard Wood is between 40 to 50 feet. Victory Tower at FT. Jackson is between 50-60 feet. Don't worry though, there are professionals out there to make sure your harness is tied and rigged properly. it's fun.
SuperSaiyanSoldier 4 years ago
its 40'. the wind is what causes people to freak because it messes with your gear and straps. hang in there. practice now by going onto the roofs of tall buildings and learn how to walk around and do basic movements so you can be ready for the tower.
