It's actually beautiful to see Joe and The Pogues a real match made in heaven. That's not to say Shane's not better it's just really surreal and pleasant to see this.
Shane had just been sacked after passing out from Saki and splitting his head open in Japan. Strummer took over for the rest of the tour. About a week after this video was shot the band was in the U.S. with Strummer. It was easily one of the best shows I ever saw. I was really bummed when I heard about Shane, but Strummer (God rest his soul) was the ONLY logical replacement.
