Amazing!!! I made a cover over this backing track i dont know if i can call it a farewell ballad improvisation though because its so much different to zakks version, please, take a look and tell me what you think :)
How did you come across your guitar sound? Miced your amp or with some kind of software? Im using guitar rig 4 when im doing my videos at my channel, and i love yours sound! Kinda hendrix/mayerish. Love it.
@DavidPercan I used Line 6 Pod xt. I will make a video of my recording setup soon, along with information about the guitar that I use, since they seem to generate many questions :)
this strat is one of the few strats i would like to have!! i am not a big fan of fender or squier because i started with epiphone and gibson guitars, which give you more solid sound, in my opinion..but that beauty i would love to have in my possession!! very nice cover btw!!
I think that when you cover this song, you have to make it your own version in some way. for instance: a little bend there a hammer-on there just so that it is your version.
Oh my GOD man! Can you pleaseeee tell me some tips of how you made your strat look like that?!? (tools, techniques, etc...) It looks amazing in all your videos! Your tone in this is crazy too!!
@Paisa5990 It's a Squier CV60's (heavily modded). Paint&relicing done by me. I've played electric for almost three years now, but played acoustic for quite a bit before that..
@TurquoiseArmies Well, I can say you kick ass, specially for someone who's been with the electric for just 3 years, those are the first few miles of a long road. Keep the hard work and you'll go very far.
@cgrabeman Any type of overdrive/distortion will get you there. I used Line 6 Pod XT for recording this. There is also a hint of auto-wah from 0:48 on...
Your fender sounds like a Gibson. I am not sure if I like it. It could possibly be the amp but from an old strat like that it should sound more glassy I believe.
@figaz555 Well before 0:20 it sounds quite Fender-y to me...From there on, with a crap load of distortion everything will sound more aggressive. Also, using a Pod for recording kind of makes every guitar sound the same...Trust me, the guitar sounds good thru my Fender Pro Reverb! ;)
Lol yeah i did notice the overplaying in a couple videos but it's not too bad he seems pretty cool though. Unfortunately i can't find his cd sold anywhere in america so i guess i'll have to order it from Europe. But yeah your Strat special sounds really nice, you get the best distorted tones i've ever hear from a pod. It doesn't sound fizzy at all. I got rid of my podxt cause i couldn't get a distorted tone that wasn't fizzy.
@Sirshenanigans1 staggered. Just because I wanted to keep the look as "vintage" as possible. I know Jason claims that there is a clear difference, but I doubt that I could tell...
@TurquoiseArmies Cool thanks. yeah on his site he really pushes the flat poles but i've never heard a flat pole so i don't know the difference. Also i'm thinking it might not work with two other staggered since the out put would be different. Btw I like the philip sayce stuff on your other covers. I'd never heard him before. I'm gonna have to start listening to him
@Sirshenanigans1 agree with you. I've really liked my Strat Special! About Philip, he is the best..So much feeling combined with skills. Might have been accused of "overplaying" a touch back in the day, but has really found his style now!! Check him out! :)
@thedonace213 Originally a Squier Classic Vibe 60s. Relic&paint job done by me. Van Zandt Vintage+ in the neck and middle, Lollar Strat Special in the bridge. CTS pots, steel tremolo block, etc... Thanks for watching! :)
@Yozo84 Thanks! I don't think it's really necessary to make a gear demo for my RECORDING gear, since it's only Line 6 Pod XT and a tubescreamer.. I will however make a demo of "Sandra" with my old Fender Pro Reverb and my pedals at some point!
@bondman00794 Thanks!:) I already uploaded this a moment ago and got some comments. But I then noticed a mistake in it that I just had to fix, and therefore re-upload... I love my guitar also :)
