Blackmetal is simply a different type of music, a-la Darkthrone, Satyricon etc.

As someone who loves both Gen. and Blackmetal and a lot of other musical movements i find it a tad annoying when people unjustly misrepresent any of them.

Don't get me wrong I do like music such as old Venom, Emperor, or even Cradle of Filth, but I have been calling certain music "Black Metal" all the way to back to Mercyful Fate and Electric Hellfire Club. I even consider Kill Allen Wrench and Rorschach Test to be "Black Metal".

That said, there are two completely different energies represented by this band and Black Metal. While Genit. certainly aims to shock, it's all for entertainment, which is their main goal. Black Metal does not intend to entertain in the least. The goal is to convict and push a very negative agenda that is supposed to turn people away.

I feel it's important to make a distinction. It would be irresponsible to send ignorants to "the wolves"... especially wolves that honestly kill people (A la Birzum). At it's most lighthearted... It'd be the same as me comparing Blink 182 to Dead Kennedy's, or Green Day as "underground". Doing so insults the movements that (for better or worse) have worked damn hard to maintain the "bubble's" integrity.

Genitorturers - One of the most phenomenal, graphic, black metal bands there has ever been.

I remember going to a show at the Phoenix(pre-quake) up in Seattle during their Sin City tour.

Band was spot on perfect, sound was mixed awesome, and the stage theatrics was mind blowing.

Seeing a naked nun get violated by Geni with an upside-down crucifix in full view right on stage. While dark, heavy, black metal music pumped the crowd into a frenzy was awesome.
