This, The Doors, Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, all Classic Rock, the 60s and drugs were the new Renascence, now its up to us to reep the fruits of that marvelous expericence of mind, to be inspired by them and try our own, and then really make something our of the new society of the 21st century! Decriminalize drugs and make peace!
David Bowie once remarked, "The Kinks are the best thing out of England since the Rolling Stones." I must agree. I remember a stretch from 1979 to 1982 I saw the Kinks like 5 times in a row as the toured each time during that period. Just awesome. The Kinks ROCK!

@givemeyourmoney909 Yes, I meant it's ironic how they seemed to have shot the video in the coldest place on the planet! :) Whenever I hear this song it reminds me of hot sunny days and ice cold beer.
fucking love them, their musical geniuses they are a big part of musical history,i don;t think they get enough credit as they should for being so amazing.ah well i think they are amazing anyhow
@oldmancecil How damn right you are. I completely agree. Classic songwriting ability. Quality songs and look how they and lot's of others slowly fade into the background. sad. Yet with all this rubbish today youngsters think it will last for ever. Not on your nelly. This stays in my heart forever....

it should be possible to make a copyright demand on voices, then one could demand Franz Ferdinand, man.
The Kinks are one of the most important and influential bands EVER, side by side with the beatles, the who and the stones.

Is it supposed to be ironic?

Yes, very.
A band played this during the Las Vegas Marathon last year and the irony was fantastic.

Right...maybe it's just my impression, but in this context I listen to a sort of quote to this song in the chorus of 'Feel Good Inc.'
Perhaps is not an intentional thing...but anyway there's 'something' in my humble opinion.
