Just want you guys to know how much of an inspiration you have been to me as I join a small bluegrass group with my older brother, and I cant tell you how much it has repaired my relationship with him and has really turned my life around in general. Never underestimate the power of good music! You guys tore it off on this one... keep it up and the videos coming!
@mikeblooms4me Well Mike we are glad to hear that. Yes, music does have power. It was one of the things that has helped me recover from my accident, the Lord is the main reason though. Thanks for the comment and thanks for listening.
Love that song! You guys do it proud! What kind of a mandolin is that (don't mind me I always ask that!). I hope I see you guys in a live performance sometime.
Damn......... way better than I expected. My suggestions for improvment are that you should get it recorded in a studio, because it sounds dandy already. Good singer, good banjo good all around keep it up
Canada here...not exactly a significant tradition up here but me and my Blue Mountain Boys give it our Bluegrass best anyways...really liked your version...great and tight harmonies and nice clean instrumentation...we're comin' down to w.virginie in May...we'll look for ya
Hi and thanks for the comments. Yeah, I'm playing an Earl Scruggs Standard Mastertone Gibson. I got it in '89. I'm not real familiar with the Deerings but I think Eddie Adcock endorses them so they must be good banjos. We're from West Virginia.
SWEEEEEET Pickin.....How long have you been playing the banjer? What kind of banjo are you playing. I'm just beginning to play banjo at the ripe old age of 49.I am aspiring to play as well as you. But I'll take only half as well!!LOL
Way to go fellers! I subscribed to y'all and can't wait to hear more! I've been wanting to learn the mandolin for a few years and i'm getting one next week for my birthday...hope to play like y'all do!
I've been playing banjo now for about 9 months or so. The harder I pick, the more I find I have to "retreat" into myself in order to not think. If my mind thinks about what my hands are doing just for a second, I lose my rhythm. So, I have to almost daydream about something in order to make it sound right.
TEARS IN MY EYES!!! All the hairs on my back raised....
Very nice indeed...
Did not really know the tune, but will surely have a go on the guitar with it now I have heard it...
