  • Holy crap, I came across this because I was looking to see if you did any April Fools music, and coincidentally I was actually wondering what the name of this piece was recently. Most useful April Fools joke ever!

  • Man, I love this song; I found it by watching End of Evangelion :b

  • @hammerheaddummyface I too, awakened to realized how awesome this song is, when watching End of Evangelion :D Hell, should add this track to Civ 5 game if possible too :DD

  • I like this most for classical.

  • can anyone make a 10hour version of this :) ?

  • " THE BEST AIR i EVER HEARD" !!!!! I want to know wich orchestra playe'd this ????!!

  • ............ Where did Toccata & Fugue go? :P

  • beautiful, really amazing song!

  • The title comes from violinist August Wilhelmj's late 19th century arrangement of the piece for violin and piano. By transposing the key of the piece from its original D major to C major and transposing the melody down an octave, Wilhelmj was able to play the piece on only one string of his violin, the G string.

The original title: Orchestral Suite No. 3 in D major, BWV 1068

  • damn sorry guys, i saw the word G string an clicked on it thinkin this was some freaky booty poppin music lol :D

  • @shatta54321

well who knows! it is hypnoticing ^_^

and those classic mucisians were the rock n roll artists of the 1700's xD

  • @garfreeek lol

  • "Magypsy's Gone, Cutie-Pie" this song sounds interestingly similar....

  • @GalekC Kind've...

  • @VGMimix I am specifically talking about that theme's rendition, "Magypsy's Gone Cutie-Pie." Just listen to that echoing note. I swear, it's practically the same!

  • This version has a bug at 1:54

Diese Version hat einen Fehler bei 1:54

  • i subscribed to your channel for your collection of video games music but this is a fantastic bonus. please add more.

  • simply ...beautifull

  • This was my absolute favorite song to fall asleep to back as a kid.

  • I swear I heard this in the last Neon Genesis Evangelion movie End of Evangelion.

  • Post on April Fools no less. XD Actually, you should consider doing a mini classical music playlist whenever you have a bit of extra time and feel like uploading them. I'd listen to all of them. =D

  • This was quite surprising to see you uploading classical musical. It's also a great start since this is one of my favorites to listen to!~

But I still listen to all the other videogame music as well. 83

  • check out Air by Jason Becker

  • Look at all that support :). Seeing as people love this idea so much (myself included), I hope you don't miss this opportunity.

  • Well I'd like to hear more of it. A little too good for an april fool's joke i think. however, i don't think it would be too bad to bring some people a bit more close to classic musics which aren't all that bad if you like orchestraded JRPG songs.

  • I support the idea of extending this April Fool's Joke into a regular thing.

  • If you ever feel like doing a channel/playlist of this kind of music, you have a suscriber here

  • great music please continue!!!

  • I NEED THIS MUSIC TO STUDY !!!! please continue this ><

  • Excellent music

  • Was his because that one guy said the DQ music reminded him of this?

  • last year it was some kind of atrocious vgm track, at least this year it's a good song! :P

  • Oh, April Fools. XD But the fact that it's old too is... Ha ha, I'm confused. ^^;

  • Is this because of the 1911 filter? XD

  • You should definately make a seperate channel if you actually decide to do this. A lot of people seem to support this. A LOT.

  • this is awesome cuz it was in evangelion

  • nice idea supra! :)

  • This list would actually be really cool :)

  • Quite nice of a change. Maybe a separate youtube channel for it? (or not whatever works)

    I'd sub though.

  • I see why this one is your favorite.

  • FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

You will go down as the biggest cock tease in history if you do not continue this.

  • This needs to continue even if it is supposed to be a joke.

  • You know, this is technically a VGM as well, since it appeared in the early Leisure Suit Larry series (Al Lowe was a music teacher before he started designing games). Heh.

  • Actually continue this list!

  • Seriously, CRUEL April Fool's joke! D: Pleaseeeee continue this kind of list!

  • This is one of my favorite songs, no trollin'. Been listening to it a lot lately. It has also been in a few video games if memory serves correctly. Megaman Legends I believe was one?

  • @lordcyrus YOU ARE CORRECT SIR!!!!

  • @imraw17 HOORAY.

  • @lordcyrus Megaman legends<3 cant wait till III comes out ^-^

  • This is great. Make it a year round april fools.

  • well this is awesome...hah

  • lol...I really hope this wasn't an April fool

  • If you have Bach you also have to feature his Toccata and Fugue. Much better than this.

  • sounds smiler to Koichi sugiyama Love it

  • is this a joke? please tell me no

  • I wait best CM 02.

  • ... April fools was successful

  • this is my favorite theme ever... (and hey.. i listen alot of classics)

  • Oh man, Supra, I LOVE THIS GAME! Not very many people have heard of it, and I'm surprised that you have! This is amazing!

(Happy April Fools, but seriously, this is actually pretty awesome!)

  • please continue the best cm !!!

  • WHAT THE FUCK, I WILL UNSUB

  • @keyblademasterchief Are you serious?

  • Please continue this!

  • I love this piece. so thank you very much for putting it up.

  • It would be a shame if it where just an april fools joke, classical music can be awesome too... Some vgm's where definitely inspired by classic works... Like One Winged Angel, most of the music in Eternal Sonata, etc.

And who can forget (as a part of the official ost) Moonlight Sonata (Monschein Sonata) by L. van Beethoven in Resident Evil?

  • Happy April Fool's.

This is pleasant, but I like Gymnopedie better.

I also liked your past April Fool's things better than this one, but thinking about it reminds me that I've been subscribed to your channel for over two years... How time flies! I played Secret of Evermore and Radiata Stories thanks to you. Not to mention hearing lovely music from your channel every week. Thanks for all of the work you've put into the Best VGM list over the years~ :3

  • Oh man what a nostalgy bomb! I remember back when they just released this awesome ga... classical music piece and everyone seemed to hate it because it's catering to the "casuals". But now look who's laughing! Everyone still bought this so called "casual" piece and the maker is rolling in cash, unlike you all poor peasants! HA!

  • If this isn't an April Fools joke, then HELL YEAH!!!

  • i actually hope this isn't a joke^^ i'd like it to continue :D

  • i would also like to see more classical music =)

  • i was bout to go all, WHY OH WHY... then i looked at the date.

  • There is no 4:44 :S

  • Bach rules. Modern classical / soundtrack composers make me cringe. John Williams is an exception. Classical music is art in the same sense as selling paintings; you hope someone buys yours.

  • @fingrid check out Karl Jenkins. very modern, very awesome^^

especially Stabat Mater and The Armed Man, both orchestral masterpieces.

  • NICE BOAT

  • Comment removed

  • im down for a best cm

  • I actually really like this idea. It's a funny joke, yes, but maybe you could continue it anyway?

  • @SergeantLuke

Yes ... only if he have the same knowledge than video game music.

    (sorry fot my english)

  • Oh you clever dog.

But seriously do a Best of CM

  • I.... kinda hope this isn't an April Fools joke. Hmm. Perhaps Supra could do a mixture of VGM and CM? In my opinion, they are both great. Alas, if 'tis indeed an april fools' joke, then I shall accept that as well.

  • Did they use this in Dragon Quest VIII? It sounds similar

  • @TheOneHandStand Crap! I was going to make a Dragon Quest joke. Now I'll just look stupid :(.

  • @saladshootavvv Not to egg anything on or anything, but if that is true, what is the singular form of music?

  • @TheAruff the singular form of music? What are you talking about? And what are you even replying to?

  • Beautiful. This is a good idea!

  • Mega Man Legends. Se7en. Period.

  • Ah yes, this takes me back to that fine summer when I was in the "Green Apple" at about 3:00 AM taking part in the fine work of Leonardo da Vinci. "Leonardo Leads" they would say, I could not have agreed more...

  • this is awesome, classical music is amazing

  • So what would number 100 be?

  • A perfect song.

  • A MASTERPIECE. No words.

  • Best CM, I think not more like Best VGM - Megaman Legends Kattleox Museum lol

  • I'd like to recommend you watch an anime or movie, called Nodame Cantabile. Some great classic songs in it. Rachmaninoff's piano concerto. 2 is a good example.

of course, i'm probably getting trolled and this is just an april fool's joke video lol.

  • I don't know if it's April Fools but Classical music is my all-time favorite genre.

  • Got me thinking for a moment until I realized today is April 1st XD

  • This might be an Apri fools joke, but this is stull awesome.

  • Yay! New series!

  • I would like to request Purcell's Queen's Dolor. thx.

  • You know what?

I wouldn't have a problem with you making a classic music list.

    <3

  • Nice one Darky! :D You should give Frédéric Chopin´s work a try aswell.

  • I never played this game. I've heard good things about it though. IGN gave it a 6.5, but they can be really picky. I think I will try to get this from Gamefly. Is the PS3 version better than the 360? I heard you can play as Kratos in that one...

(for anyone who doesn't see, I am joking. Classic piece of music, SupraDarky. Good choice)

  • I hope this isn't an April Fools joke :/

  • @Lappith How can you not like this?, seriously. Anyway it's probably a joke, but I'd like him to continue uploading these lol.

  • April Fools?? I subscribed for VGM not classical music.....

  • @ShadowMario64 It's pretty obvious if you read what SupraDarky wrote.

  • @SlRDancealot It doesn't seem obvious to me. This is a great song, but this is COMPLETELY random!!

  • @ShadowMario64 "ranked list, the list will get progressively worse, since that was his favourite" or something of the like.

    I'd call that obvious.

  • @ShadowMario64 Then don't click on them? There is an x button at the top right of each video.

I personally think this is a great addition to his channel.

  • it makes me sleepy...oh nvm its 1:00 am here :P

  • I just wanna say I watched this, commented it, went to go watch End of Evangelion, and it's in there.

    h8u darky

  • Oh man. You just expanded listening repertoire into Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Liszt, Brahms, Mussorgsky, Korsakov, Tchaikovsky, Chopin... The list goes on. *tear of awe*

  • My prediction for #2: Something Chopin :)

  • I love this. This reminds me of MegaMan Legends so much cause it was in that game. MUSEUM!

  • Holy shit this is my favourite classical song of all time! Nice start!

  • Se7en!

  • Air on the G-String...I think I own that movie. XD

  • SPOILER ALERT:

This...is a prank...derp...how many people forget the date...I'm have a serious head injury and I remembered. Wow, lol, whatecer, still good thoyugh. Not to mention, how can anyone make a never ending list going from the best to what they just flat out hate? It makes no sense. Lastly, nowhere does it say standard VGM list is done even if this were real, so lord knows we'd just get two lists.

  • haha air on the g-string

  • lol Every time I hear this, I think of the Megaman Legends museum curator. "OH THANK YOU SO MUCH!"

  • This..... was the museum music in Megaman Legends?

  • Better in 1911 mode.

I like Bach, but not this tune.

  • Ok, you make your decisions, but I just wanna say I wish this channel was only dedicated to video game music.

I have mostly had enough of classical music. I just don't like it anymore (especially the most overplayed compositions like this one).

  • @CleverDjembe Seriously? Real or not, sarcasm doesn't work well in comments.

  • @Aikionen

Seriously. I grew up listening to classical. It's not my thing anymore.

  • @CleverDjembe The upload is an april fools joke, that's what I'm referring to since Supra uploads video game music. If you don't appreciate a classic that's fine.

  • @Aikionen

I realized the joke only after I wrote the previous comments.

  • Illogical...illogical... illogical... illogical...ILLOGICAL!! *blows up*

  • Darky, this sucks.

This song is obviously just a cover.

Just kidding, it really is a nice song....

  • If I'm not mistaken this was also in Burnout Paradise, so by technicality, this is still a video game song :D

  • Har har har :P

  • The Angels pray to Bach's music. And dance to Mozart's.

  • Is this an April Fool's joke? Ay, I guess I can like it xD

  • I've been looking for the name of this song since I played Megaman Legends! It always played in that stupid museum.

  • @kevino13

The music when you fight Juno is Little Fugue, also by Bach.

    Check that shit out.

  • i love how the description hasnt changes even though the genre has :P

  • Good one.

  • amazing stuff, i commend you good sir on your timing and part there of *raises eyebrow*

  • Everyone needs a bit of Bach in their lives.

  • The title probably means something different these days lol

  • So glad you're doing this!

  • April Fool's, right Darky?

    otherwise fuck you

  • @ItsFizikal

    Don't like classical music?

What's the matter... too DEEP for you?

  • @321cheeseman nah, i'm a Chopin fan, dude

  • You want classic music? Try classic ROCK!

  • Looking forward to it.

  • I heard this in a game before that im sure off, but i don't know what game though might be FF-9 or Eternal sonata

  • watched in 1911

  • @skarmflames doesn't that destroy the whole point of the video?

  • @xiber88 pretty much

  • you know if this is an april fools joke. good job if not keep at it i really liked this piece.

  • This is actually my favorite classical song of all time. Oh and this list will be ranked, so the more it goes the less good the songs added will be.

  • @SupraDarky Hi Supra, I hate to be a nitpicker but you shouldn't call it a song unless there's singing. A song is a very specific genre of music (especially when talking about western classical music). I'm glad you're doing this list, if you would like any help or suggestions I have a pretty good background in classical music, new and old. Thanks for all the uploads :)

  • @saladshootavvv

Dude, no one cares about that antiquated definition for "song". EVERYONE uses song as a synonym for music, so that is what it is. Languages are cool like that, they change based on how words are used.

For instance, you wouldn't call someone "gay" and expect them to know that you meant "happy".

  • @321cheeseman That's why I specifically said "especially when talking about western classical music". The colloquial use of "song" being synonymous with all music is not just incorrect but also a symptom of a musically uneducated culture. It's not a cultural evolution of a word like "gay". It doesn't mean that its usage is correct just because people use the term. Even if that were true, how do you distinguish between a symphony, a concerto and a nocturne if you call them all songs? You can't.

  • @saladshootavvv

You can still use symphony, concerto, nocturne, dirge, minuet, bolero, sonata, requiem, aria, prelude, serenade or whatever to describe a piece in a setting where that would actually matter; nothing is stopping you from doing that.

Really though, the things I've listed work just as well as sub-genres under 'classical music'. So I'm just going to call them classical songs that just happen to be symphonies or serenades. That is how it is going to be.

  • @321cheeseman I hope your arrogance bites you in the ass one day. You really have no clue. You think at Juilliard or Curtis that would be acceptable? Have you ever spoken to a classically trained musician in your life? I work in the field, trust me, no one uses the word song to describe a piece. Calling it a song is non-descriptive, ignorant, and just wrong. It would be like calling a stained glass window a painting. They're all just pictures, right?....NO! That's just idiotic.

  • @saladshootavvv

    >no one uses the word song to describe a piece

I'm afraid that's just not true.

Now look, I'm not saying you're wrong about hat "song" means, I'm just saying so what if people use the word "song" incorrectly? You know what they mean, it isn't a huge problem, and they don't mean (or cause) any harm by it.

  • @321cheeseman you took my comment "no one uses the word song to describe a piece" out of context. I was talking specifically about classically trained musicians. I am aware that the majority of the uneducated USA uses the word song to describe all music. Song implies singing, whether people are aware of that or not. Just because people pronounce ask as "axe" that doesn't mean that it's correct. Look at what I wrote to guitarskills about how "instrumental song" is a bad term. That's the harm.

  • @saladshootavvv

I did not take it out of context. You said "no one" and I interpreted it as "no one", which is doubly justified by the fact that just a comment or 2 back we were talking about the general public.

    >Look at what I wrote to guitarskills about how "instrumental song" is a bad term. That's the harm.

WHATS the harm? Just because it's an oxymoron according to a definition that the general public hasn't used in ages?

  • @saladshootavvv A song does NOT need singing...

I seriously feel like insulting you for that insult :/

  • @guitarskills2 Why? Where have you heard that a song in the western classical tradition doesn't need singing? Tsk tsk tsk, I'd expect that kind of talk from someone named cheeseman, but someone calling themselves a musician? You should be embarrassed. If I'm wrong show me. Please, I'm not trying to be a dick.

  • @saladshootavvv "instrumental song". That's all I need.

  • @guitarskills2 No, it's not "all you need". What you just said is an oxymoron. What does instrumental song even mean? Does it mean you took the melody from a song and then played an instrumental version of the tune? Or does it mean that it is a song like tune written for instruments? You see, this is why we have definitions. The correct term would be to call it a piece. Where do you think we even got the word song from? From singing that's where.

  • @saladshootavvv The correct term would actually be "composition". But saying this isn't a song is so freaking aggravating.

  • @guitarskills2 Look kid, I'm getting my masters in composition at Mannes and am studying with a pulitzer prize winning composer. I almost got accepted to Juilliard a year ago and I work with and know MANY composers including Steve Reich, David Lang, and tons of others. NO ONE would call this a song. And of course it's a composition! Just as a painting is a composition! "But saying this isn't a song is so freaking aggravating." That's a personal problem kid. A song implies singing, deal with it.

  • All of my music theory papers were I have to analyze them would not say song on the paper if they weren't songs.

  • @guitarskills2 Then maybe those examples are songs. If it's orchestral or instrumental music that has been described as a song then you better get the hell out of there. But I think you're lying, that's the biggest bullshit I've ever heard in my life. NO credible source would call something a song if it wasn't a song. Give me an example of what they call a song. Don't just say "my music theory paper" give me the actual name of the piece.

  • @saladshootavvv I'm not talking about any specific piece. I am saying that the word "song" does not mean that it must have vocals. "song" is an overlying term for any piece of music.

  • @guitarskills2 How. Many. Times. Do. I. Have. To. Spell. This. Out. I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN and you are VERY incorrect. I'm saying it is wrong to call any piece of music a song. We already have a term to describe all music....it's called music! A song implies singing. Maybe you should be studying a little more before trying to argue that red isn't red just because you want to call it blue.

  • @saladshootavvv Music considers every single note. Take music theory before you start arguing such things.

A Augmented sixth chord is music. It is not a composition by itself, as you say..
