After watching a ton of McCartney interviews, I kept hearing the same answer to the same questions. But this interview with Howard is very candid and draws you in. Paul really opened up and said some frank things.
this is probably the most revealing interview by Paul McCartney ever. There used to be a video of this uploaded here but YouTube took it down. To whoever uploaded those before, please upload it again!
Howard is a great interviewer because he's able to make his guest feel comfortable. He is able to lead the guest into interesting areas of conversation without reaching a dead end. He knows how far to take the interview & when to back off, as is demonstrated in this particular interview.
That's amazing! I've ALWAYS said that John was the only person who believed Yoko had never heard of him or the Beatles. I mean, she wasn't some japanese living in Japan in a small fishing village. in the 60's, Yoko was living in Greenich Village, NYC, an artist community. She told John she had never heard of him to get into his wallet. All he got was filled with hate for Paul and 5 slugs in the back. Thanks Yoko!
@BillyShears06 they have met before- they both were at a British award thing where Ozzy and Sharen told Paul publicly how much Paul's music meant to them. Paul then played Live & Let Die and Dance Tonight
Fun interview!!! Paul is the best & Howard did a good job. Too bad he didn't talk about Julian Lennon, always wondered what was Yoko's excuse to keep all the money...other than greed.
Ok, I have to admit, I'm not a Howard Stern fan, but this is one of the best Beatle or ex-Beatle interviews. Not the standard dumb ass questions that have always been asked in lame interviews.
At 6:52 I think he says to Paul, "You've never had a gay experience? Even when you were young? No 'towel-snapping incidents?" That's what it sounds like to me.
Howard says "no towel snapping incidents..no sword fights?" sword fights is a common phrase for howard. Think of two naked guys fooling around...hence "sword fights"
McCartneys memory is always the most optimistic memory of every event

Wow...Howard Stern asks questions people actually want to know the answers to and EXPECTS or DEMANDS a legitimate answer. I am impressed.

I've never heard the rumor that Epstein gave Lennon a hummer!!! And for McCartney to not shoot it crazy makes me think.

H9ward Stern has got to be the most underrated interviewer of all time.

Exactly... every other interview Paul just gives his same canned responses, yet somehow Howard really draws him out here.

Hey Pepsthecat, thanks for posting.
Paul says, towards the end, at 6:52, the interviewer asks him something, and he says a little... what does he ask him?, I cannot undestand...
