Worst spell there is at later levels. Earlier levels is quite good but a spell you make yourself is way cheaper later on. xD I tried it and already after level 5 its 20 damage in abt 10 ft is more expansive than one you make on your own, I suggest you get it before level 5 or not at all =p

did you have a low level character? Because the game uses a leveling system and if you have a low level character when you cast a shock spell at it you get a low level fingers of the mountain spell...

For the most magicka, use an Atronach as birth sign, add a breton for another 50 magicka. then use 5 transcendent sigil stones to make fortify magicka 50 points on armor for another 250. For a total of 450. A high intelligence helps too. I also find it strange that you get a "Finger of the Mountain" spell (at high level) that you cant even use.

is this PC? couse i got the 360 version and i got this spell at lvl 33/master destruction , and it does 200 pts of damage but there is no way i can cast it couse it cost like 700+ magicka and all i have is 300 tops, even with forty int + forty magicka all i got is 540 magicka.

If anyone know how to get more magicka ill appreciate.

I'm having major problems with that spell. I did both parts of the "Fingers of the Mountain" quest and I got Earanas notes, then got a Welkynd stone and cast shock touch at the pillar at cloud top. When I got the spell, it only does 6 shock damage and only takes 9 magicka! My Destruction skill is around 45. Did I do something wrong in the quest?

It's a leved spell. If you were a low level when you did it, the spell with be weaker than if you were a high level. I did mine around level 20, and mine does 90 dmg, but takes like 300 magicka to cast.

okay hammer i think you need to pull that stick out cause its hitting your brain by now, i know that spell pretty well, it does 200 points of shock damage in 10 ft on target which means it can effect a group of ppl, also just some bit of info for those who dont know the higher your skill in a certain type of magic the less magic it takes to cast it, im a master of destruction and the spell only cost about 550 to cast, also if ur using items to fort ur magic stop forting ur int gives you more.

its fake because for 1 he does not show his spell list for proof that it is fingers of the mountain spell and secondly how can he use that spell without his magika regenerating, its so fake. fingers of the mountain does not even have area at its highest level so he can not possibly effect a group of people whilst using that spell.

It's a pretty difficult spell to cast, but it is possible to do on the 360. I've done it before. This spell I'm using however is about three times as powerful as the original (good old console and PSB) and it takes about 50,000 magika... also i used PSB to get it, and TGM to actually be able to cast it.

is it even possible to use the spell on 360 without any enhancements? i'm level 54 with all the main quests completed and i've only got 267 magika. The spell soaks up about 1400 iif i remember right.

Well the best i could get out of any enhancements puts my magicka at 548, still not enough. I suppose if i got the spell earlier in the game i could cast it-but i use other spells to do similar damage now anyway.

Uh, im also not a mage or anything either bud, my character is an orc male not a great one for intelligence. I played the game before using an argonian, and then with a breton and they both had pretty good magika and intelligence. This time i wanted to use mostly strength, armor and blade/blunt weapons for more of a challenge. Much more interesting of a game when you HAVE to actually fight with your character, not a spell or from a distance. Try it, it's a hell of a lot harder.
