  • @xchiaroscura Correction: Birkenau= work camp in the Holocaust. Auschwitz was the death camp. Birkenau was the larger portion of the camp as a working facility, whereas Auschwitz was the small portion, since its function was solely mass-execution.

  • @MuffinsATTACK69 *claps hands* I applaud you for your knowledge. It is good to know that people know history in a Bieber/Internet obsessed world...

  • Melora has an "old spirit" if ever there was someone to possess such a thing. The things she sings about are not necessarily pressing issues of daily life for modern folk but still strike a chord (pun somewhat intended) with modern audiences who may never bother to look for a deeper meaning, though it is almost always there. Hauntingly beautiful work.

  • Birkenau = death camp in the Holocaust.

  • This song reminds me of something. I can't remember what though, but I know it's not a song.

  • First time hearing this song, which is surprising.. chilling song.

  • I just got back from their Austin show.

    They are so good...

The guy next to me was so drunk and rude but Melora handled it great. We were up front.

  • incredible melody and arrangement. very dramatic its a great and scary song. music makes you think. is all rasputina like this..?

  • @ladycatyes Raputina is often quite dramatic. Some may find some of their stuff scary, a lot is definitely serious, some of it is hilariously silly. For the most part the lyrics are pretty inspiring of thought, though. Melora (the lead singer/band leader) likes to tie together modern day politics and obscure historical footnotes. If you like this I'd recommend checking out more, there's lots on youtube. You may not like all of it, but I bet you'll like some.

  • Exactly. I love how Rasputina songs never sound the same. It's a big variation for me.

  • @Alltherageofficial I really respect their boldness and their drive to constantly evolve. However, I personally love most of the music from their older Albums, and have had a harder time listening to the album released since 2004.

  • @ToddSGallows I gotta agree with you there.

  • @ladycatyes 'most all of there songs have that ethereal feal to them.

  • i love this song and its very haunting and sad

  • great

  • this is the only song to make me cry, but its one of my favorite

  • This song always gives me chills.

  • love this song, this band

  • One of the saddest songs, but also one of my very favourites.
