I would like to say that this is the guy that should have replaced Michael but that would be unjust as Michael is irreplaceable. But this is the guy that should have taken over from Michael. JD Fortune is a good singer but his voice to similar to Michael, in fact he comes across as a Hutchence imitator. Jon is his own man and sings the songs in his own way. Had Jon stayed he would have kick-started INXS into a new era perhaps similar to Brian Johnson taking over from Bon Scott in AC/DC.

Jon was their best chance at creating music again. They blew it because they only wanted to play old songs. Jon respected Michael and the old songs and but he also wanted them to create new material. Jon can't replace michael but then he never tried to, and he doesnt have to he is respected singer/song writer in his own right. They could have pooled noiseworks and INXS fan bases and created some good stuff IMO as well as pay homage to old songs. God Bless Michael.

INXS should just Retire and Move on... As a Fan of INXS from the 80's... INXS is nothing with out Michael Hutchence (20+ years as Lead). Jon Stevens was the pick of the bunch. Going on a reality show to pick a front man, just plain "Tacky" !

It's a lovely tribute. But, they did have to move on. The reality is that Michael is dead and the band want to move on and still have a career. They still have things to say. Queen and ACDC were able to do it. INXS can too because they are stellar musicians.

One thing that stood out for me when Jon fronted them was the respect he paid Hutch, you can see it clearly here, JD didn't show the same respect, he hated comparisons and the Hutch tribute was gone, paying tribute to Michael on stage doesn't mean they're not moving on, it's just the right thing to do, maybe they see that now with the new Hutchence tribute album, I hope when they get a new singer they at least mention him, I saw them twice with JD and not a word, Hutch deserves alot more

To WouterJ: TTD only sang 4 songs for 1 night only in Sydney in 99 as a guest vocalist, only Jon and Jd have officially fronted them, I loved the Jon era, he's been going since about 79 and is a seasoned performer, his voice is powerful and unlike Jd could handle the higher register songs with ease, he is a dynamic performer himself, I don't think he tried to be Hutch, but I think they should get someone like TTD, someone nothing like Hutch, then they can really move on, there's only one Hutch

What I dug about Terence when he was in INXS was that he sang the songs his own way, he didn't try to be Hutchence, with Jon Stevens it's just the opposite, he tries too much to be Hutchence

No One can EVER replace "Hutch", but Jon did a fantastic job filling such big "shoes"! Best front INXS ever chose. And was hard right from the start to replace a lead after 20 years!I think that it is long over due....INXS should retire gracefully (They are becoming an embaressment!)
