Well the game starts with a round of chess, and each chess round is 4 minutes. I don't know anything about Evander Holyfields chess skills, but I'm sure he wouldn't survive the first round. t's about the balance. However, chessboxing isn't professional so the potential strategies etc. haven't been explored fully. I suppose we're on the same page in terms of the sport being slightly biased in favour of the better boxer. Guess it started out of a joke anyway...
I guess what I don't understand is what's to stop a pro fighter who knows nothing about chess from just stalling in the chess round and knocking out his opponent in the first boxing round?
@Ph1lmoe Like I hear what your saying, but what's to stop someone like Evander Holyfield from just KO'ing the other guy during the boxing round? How long is the chess round? Which comes first? Is there a rating requirement to play?
this is awesome...it requires patience from the audience, but if you can connect to the mental challenge and intensity that the fighters are keeping up during the chess round...you will stay engaged and entertained.
Of coarse if you don't like chess...you will not get it and tune out.
I like how it takes a 57 seconds to get to the content of a 2 minute video.

@gl0ck916
none of those guys are bad chess players, in fact they generally have a very decent level (2000 and well more in the elo ranking system).
