The Torah is not part of the Tanach. Your English translation of Hebrew words is incorrect. Torah doesn't translate as 'Old Testament'. Torah translates as 'instruction'. The term Old Testament is Christian and not used by Jewish people. I am not trying to be mean, as I am sure you mean well. I am, though, trying to educate.
@WineBibberToronto1 shalom brother and shana tova-orthodox way is the right way and the only way im on the way to convert from christian God even showed me a dream about it,other people can choose their way based on their understanding,my rabbi says when the moshiah comes all the moslems and christians will destroy their temples when they see the truth with their own eyes, those who will survive Gog u Magog..
Torah is in Tanach, and the commandment is therefore in the Tanach as well. Tanach stands for Torah, Neviim, Ketuvim (Old Testament, Prophets, Writings).
@WineBibberToronto1 Everyone who is not a jew is obligated to keep 7 lawas of noah:1 do not worship idols(which they do avodah zarah),2.Do not blaspheme,3do not murder(which also they do),4do not commit adultery,5 do not steal,6do not eat flesh of the animal which is still alive,7 establish courts of justice.Everything else is man made religions from people with sertain goals either to enslave others to manipulate them or what ever
Mock??! How is this mocking? Well, besides him just being a really bad player. As a Christian I can tell you that the power and history of the shofar are extremely important to us.
your words are words of jelousy. lesy ye brother remeber that the words of our mouths can destroy a nation. your words prevoke anger and anger is not of GOD. This is not mockery. God gave the jews a chance to except his song the messia of the world. some chose to follow others did not. GOD extremly blessed his followers the christians and the christian jews. we are brothers no matter the differences. We are not mocking we are taking full potential of what God has given his people
Im Christian Catholic, Our religions are almost identical when it comes down to origins since Christianity rose from Judaism. The main difference is the way in which Jesus is portrayed. To us he is the messiah to you hes a nobody, we believe in what we believe and you believe in what you believe and thats all that matters. I personally like Jews but maybe thats cause I'm Canadian/Polish and John Paul 2 loved and respected Jews and so do I.. were brothers
@ROBHINOgol everyone who is not either muslim some form of hindi or budist is jewish... all the rest came from judaism. christians are jews. all the different branches of christianity are jewish... its all messed up
@WineBibberToronto1 In the new testament, in the book of Ephesus 3:6 says:"That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel" in the context, you my read by yourself, the body, means part of the body of Israel. That's your answer. We dont mock. We just feel like we are part of Israel, and that is what we believe.

DLSMS1: No, the commandment is actually not in Tanakh, but rather in Torah. This mitzvah (commandment) is given to Jewish people, not Christians.
