  • Wow thanks bud, appreciate it! Never thought of doing this and I been having my BR-600 for years

  • Hi, is it possible for you to post a tutorial on how to do this. It's really cool and would be a shame not to let others know how to achieve this :)

  • Lookswise, this is MUCH cooler-looking than the 800.

  • can I hook up a keyboard?

  • Is this easy to use for beginners?

I hope to hear from someone?lol...

    Thanks... :0)

  • @DavinaFaerie its very eazy to use i use as a sampler with desent results

check out my page to hear what i mean my favorite toy right now

  • Queen!! <3

  • You have good taste in 8 tracks and beer! and fryers

  • You have good taste in 8 tracks and beer!

  • BUT I CAN RECORD MY GUITAR FROM NY AMP INTO BR???in this mode is good sound of recording????

  • CAN you send me a message to explain me please? Thx

  • Great info !! I've been wondering about sampling my own drum sounds.. (the kits always sound so.....boring....). Thanks !! I'm going to give this a try now.

  • Me again. The BR has literally hundreds of effect patches that you can customize & save. The easiest way to set one up is to find one that's close, record your track dry(pg. 95), then put the effect onto your recorded track, loop the track with a-b repeat, tweak the effect settings till you like it, then save it to a user patch and name it. Every time you want that sound, just scroll to it. I have 30 amp settings that are right there, plus 20 for voice and acoustic guit. Got a question? Ask.

  • Hi. I've owned my BR 600 for 3 yrs. It has never failed to work flawlessly thru 1,000+ hrs.Thought I'd add a few tips. First, buy a good set of powered nearfield monitors. I'm using a set of nEar 0.5s. next, a good pair ($100.) phones and a decent condenser mic. Find the quietest space you can to record, and remember to shut off your speakers while you're recording.Don.t expect miracles right away. Give yourself time to learn the machine. Recording tips will follow this post. Have fun.

  • Nice tip! Thanks for posting it. Always looking for new tricks - especially for drums.

  • IS THERE ANYWAY U CAN USE THAT LINE IN AS A INTERFACE?

  • Really interesting demo, but I have a question: if I send in play a midi track from my computer, can I export it in the BR-600?

  • what a turd u are

  • that was super sick! Totally convinced me to get this more than the actual Boss Demo Video! Kudos!

  • how many hours of recoreding can you get up to ???

  • about the strat hum...someone told me it is rf radio frequency , being picked up by the gtr, I found by turnin the vol down to 5 on gtr it disapears, also where i sit affects it too.ty for listenin. good ideas too , ty for sugestions.,

  • I have a strat w/ single coil pickups, and I get a bit of hum , is this normal, ? i guess humbuckers would be preferable? I dont get any hum when using an amp only with the br600

  • @crowhurst1000 could try using diffrent patches, has to be said some higher gain souds create a hum from no input. also you could try using your amp and inputting the amp into the guitar/bass socket. otherwise im out of ideas. not really sure why it does that. my single coil tele has no problems

  • hey up lee, can this be done with any song? im trying to get the old style of chess records drum sounds from certain records.. like wee wee hours? but i dont have an ipod just a samsung jet phone with alot of mp3s on it..can it be done from that you reacon?

  • lol, made my comment before watching your whole vid :P

  • if you find the drup sounds bad why don't you put your own samples on their place?

  • what video camera did you use, the clarity and quality is excellent!

  • best effectts are guitar pad and resonate lead IMO.

  • Great Info.... Thanks.... Did you plug your amp thru your headphone jack out-put ?

    LM

  • @Larrymarx hi Larry yes, I use the headphone output. I now no longer use those speakers in the video but now use a pair of studio monitors and a fostex sub sounds amazing.....

  • Im 15 and ive got the BR-600 and I use it alot, im getting the 1600 for xmas, so its not for adults but I agree the guy with the insults is a bit childish, nice vid though showing some of the stuff you can do and great HD quality.

  • Well said and Thankyou! I never meant to imply that this recorder is for adults only but meants that you need "adult thinking" when using one... something which Coutlandt2 doesn't seem to have. This recorder is great...theres so much you can do with it which is what I am trying to express in this video...... maybe he could have learned something new instead of being rude... enjoy it.. its awesome!

  • @leebaguk Fully agree he seemed a bit childish in his comments, I love my BR and thanks for the reply peace and rock on . . .

  • fuck u bitch. its about fuckin recording and ur gonna say its just for adults. and by the way im fuckin 18 i would consider myself an adult. dumbass ur just a fuckin idiot. just take this video off. u shouldnt have even wasted ur money on that thing when u dont even know how to fuckin use it. just take this video off

  • @courtlandt2

18 aye? Alice wrote about you!!!! But that was when 18 was worthy......You've been really helpful here- Maggot!!! NOT....

  • @courtlandt2 Hey, is this your standard language you are using? Where are you from, the bronx or what?

    :-((

  • Im judging by the way you call me "dude" that you are under 16 years of age. This topic is for adults only.... leave your toys at the door... Thanks hahaha

  • @courtlandt2

take your profane little gay tale outta here.

if you cant help get yer little sick butt outa here!

    Maggot go home!!!!!

  • @courtlandt2 me.

  • @courtlandt2

your an idiot its just something you can do

  • also will it record in 6/8 time signature?

  • can you record a song from an ipod that starts with not only drums but like guitars and vocals and then cut out the guitar and vocals to just use the drum track?

  • you always talk of havin fun. in fact, I didnt have much of it :-((

  • hahaha thats a funny one... very clever hahaha

  • Don't shun it - fun it. ;-)

  • hahah exactly!

  • this is a great video, very clear. i've just brought the boss br-600 but am finding it a little bit confusing as i'm a total novice! I was just wondering does the device have to be plugged into a speaker to be able to hear what you are playing? as i've been tapping the drum pad and hearing nothing.

    thanks very much :)

  • Yes.... it has to be connected via your audio out/headphone connection...

  • read the manual it helps a lot!! I have mine wired thorugh a pioneer seperates system feeding some nice kef speakers.. sounds fantastic

  • Can you record the drum sounds as you tap them along to your song? or do you have to use the arranging and patterns to record them?

  • Yes... once they are in the recorder you can use them to "tap" along with ... hope this helps!

  • hiya mate, great video, iv been doin lots of research into multitrakers at this price and this was helpful. Is it possible to plug my electric drum kit into this and get it sounding decent? (or at least better than the built in drum machine)

    Thanks

  • Good Question ..... you could record the sounds of your drum machine and store them into the recorder... would take a little time to do but yes, it can be done .... a great idea in fact!

  • went through ebay and bought 2 sandisk 1gb cards.... not high speed ones so they should work ... payed 25 for the 2 good deal ... plenty of room now to record some new stuff!

  • found a card.... 50 bucks though .... ugh ... 1GB heres the thing though ... it CANNOT be a high speed card. I just bought a 133x card and it doesn't work .... it may take a little searching.... Im thinking of requesting one on craigslist as a lot of older cameras used them .....

  • @leebaguk Take a look on the Roland forums I ordered a card in the UK today for £6.50.

  • does it have to be drum sounds you import to the pad? and how long can the samples beon the pad can they be like 30 secs long n stuff.

  • Not at all .. you can use ANY sounds including what you record on the Mic. Not sure how long the samples can be but it opens up a HUGE amount of improvisation when you think about it ....

  • I'm just waiting for delivery of my 600 but looking at this would I be right in thinking you can use the feature to loop samples?

  • Once you get used to it you will be VERY pleased.... yes, you could loop that way but it also has a dedicated loop function too. you can copy and [paste parts to anywhere in your tracks.. this is a powerful tool once you get the hang of it ... I love mine and use it every day ... good luck .. feel free to ask if u have any questions...

  • thanks for the feedback keep posting the tips please,

    Thanks

  • Hey Lee in between heavy work schedule starting to get on top of my 600 now, lots of trial and some mega error! Do you know if there's a way to sync a sequencer to the drum machine by the way? Thanks...

  • Hey! I guess you could connect it to your Line in.... and then record it onto a seperate track as apposed to using the rythm track on the recorder... give it a go... nice idea...

  • BR600 delivered last week but I only had time to unwrap it plug it in fumble around with the guitar processor and drum sounds, has a major record fail....and then had to go travelling. Back now for a break over Christmas so hopefully i can make some progress...!

  • Great news .... I have been neglecting mine for a few weeks as my memory card died.... getting a new one next week so I will be rocking again real soon .... keep me posted on your stuff !

  • Thank you very much for this tip!!!

Can't wait to see the next video !!!

  • No problem ... how are you liking yours?

  • I'm reading the instr. manual and thanks to youtube videos, I'm learning a lot !!!

I'm having a fun time with my BR600. I'm impressed by all the features of this little beast :)

    Take care

    J.

  • Very useful tip. Thanks

  • you are very welcome ... thanks for watching ...

  • Do you use an adapter for power or batteries?

  • I use an adapter ... well worth the money ...

  • faker. you might have sampled each sound, but u did not remake the original drum part. All you did was record it using the Line in feature repeatedly over multiple tracks so that when u raised the levels it looks like you are adding them in.

but i guess thats the trick.

  • j0rm4n. Why on earth would you think that? What a crazy way to try and make a drum pattern! Once tou have the drums "sampled" you just make a basic 4/4 pattern. So simple. Thanks for the "faker" thing though.... obviously you don't have a BR600 or don't have the brains to use it in exciting ways...

  • hey man thanks for showing that trick, check out my Br600 song. BIG QUESTION:: Can you press PLAY on the Ipod and RECORD on the Br-600 and record the entire song from the Ipod to the Br600? PLEASE let me know. if you can... I can create drum patterns using CUBASE or REAPER then slap them on an ipod and play/record then RE-record guitar over my patterns. let me know something PLEASE and thank you! -thebooty.

  • Yes! you can record anything onto the recorder .... nice idea!

  • Lee the Drum sound from "Alright Now" would be a nice one to sample, I've always loved the subtle variations that Simon Kirke employed on that track.

  • what song is this? i like queen

  • Its a song called "Fun it" from the "Jazz" album

  • wow, handy thing for making backing tracks..
