I trust Legendary Pictures, I just don't want them to make it too "Americanized". That is the only thing I am worried about. It should be an epic movie. I've been a fan for 22 years, and I know most everything about the Monster King himself. Hopefully this will NOT be a let down...
i think the monster that godzilla is going to fight in this movie should:
1. be larger than godzilla
2. NOT be overdone
3. kick ass
4. have an epic, terrifying roar
5. be something that doesnt have anything to do with humans (human actions possibly, but nothing like biollante that was literrally a person just fused with godzilla cells and plant cells)
I think it's great that Legendary pictures plans on paying homage to the original Godzilla by keeping his original design, but making him CGI kinda irks me... If they really wanted to show true appreciation for the original character, they should do it in suitmation like the original always was.

Dude. Did you see that new Godzilla movie! I've always been a fan of Godzilla since 1937! I've watched all 50 movies especially Godzilla vs King Kong 2! OMG you have to see it!
I know alot of people are worried that Legendary won't keep their promises for this film but I trust them to make a great Godzilla movie. Why? Well, for 5 action movies they've made:
1) The Town
2) Watchmen
3) Inception
4) 300
Main Reason 5) The Dark Knight
All of these had dark stories, great action, fantastic acting, and realistic graphics. Even Clash of the Titans are great graphics even though it sucked overall. Also, the people working on the film are real Godzilla fans.
There isn't a doubt in my mind that this will be the American Godzilla movie we should have gotten in 1998 but didn't.
Legendary Pictures makes quality films an usually respects source material, an they went out of there way for Godzilla...They actually want to make this picture great not just a cash grab, other-wise they would have left it to Toho an not bothered going there an probably forking out a fortune for the right's esp after what Tri-Star did to Toho in 1998.
@XxComablackxX1937 I agree. Legendary is the ONLY movie studio today that makes respectful remakes. Even Clash of the Titans had alot of respect, even though everybody hates it. Most studios want to make remakes simply because of the name such as Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, The Ring (Japanese is WAY better), and all of the Universal monster remakes. The only remakes that are very respectful to the originals are King Kong (2005) and Halloween (2007).

5. Make the movie origonal. We dont need to see another Godzilla vs Mothra or Ghidorah, with the exception you make it completly new. Maybe have two Godzillas? Maybe Godzilla vs his own son? That would be an interesting fight.
6. Go nuts with the destruction. You watch a giant monster movie for monsters fighting and monsters destroying shit.
1. Update Godzilla, make him look new. BUT do NOT make him beyond to where its not recognizable as godzilla. Zilla (no "god" from the 98 american movie is a perfect example of what not to do.
2. Focus on the monster. A problem with the older movies was that the majority of the movie was people talking. Which gets boring...
3. Acnolledge the older movies.
4. Either bring back a monster that was not used much or invent a new one, but be creative with it.
@gmrzilla I dunno how this would work but I'd love to see a sprinkle of DBZ on him, like an exggerated mouth blast beaming off the earth when Godzilla kills the monster he fights.
- Another rule here for me here though is, DONT make Godzilla a hero or a protector. Make him a neutral, his fight with the new monster should be animal-like as in territorial, NOT to save the humans.
- This is one of those movies that should be heavy on destruction and casualty.

@godzilla1077 Lol, that's something I've always thought actually. Godzilla has a 10yr lead on Gamera, so he's had much more time to get established and become a household name. Whereas Gamera, tho' being around for almost as long, has remained eternally obsure and in Godzilla's shadow. Ppl probably would think he's an oversized "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle" for certain lol! I'll ALWAYS be a Godzilla fan, but Gamera really is no slouch, I think he's incredible too!

i think that a godzilla solo movie is awesome, some of the younger audiance doesnt know godzilla's origins, it would be nice. i would really want to see new monsters tho, im tired of all these all old monsters, but that could be for the sequel.

Only thumbs up for anguirus in first movie (maybe some other weakish monsters like rodan or a drastically changed Varan, maybe an orginal monster), maybe small after credits or end of movie scene of Ghidorah riding a meteor to earth for a sequel, if its not going to have a sequel then yes complete thumbs up.
Maybe and king ghidorah riding the meteor at the end of the movie, and a scene of mothra or her egg in the after-credits. But if its going to be a single movie, yes put them in.
Thank you very much for bringing back the original Godzilla to the screen. Please give him a great blockbusting storyline that will make this the best Godzilla comeback movie ever and even make him Oscar material. It can be done, and you can do it. Get great script writers and movie making personnel around you and take your time to make the original Godzilla's comeback an top quality A-plus comeback. Stop motion is too much work and it just looks like clay, a guy in suit is way too obvious for the viewer to know it's just a guy in a rubber suit, Animatronics is not big enough. So that leads to CGI. I mean look at how Transformers turned out in CGI!
I don't think they're going to add any Toho monsters for Godzilla to fight. Legendary only got the rights to Godzilla so I think we're going to see fresh brand new monsters. But if they do add Toho monsters, they MUST have King Ghidorah!

I myself hope that it's the original Godzilla and not the U.S. version stinker! Also, I would love nothing more then to see a Godzilla movie with a lot of blood & guts and not the Saturday morning version! Finally, what would really be neat, is Godzilla battling for the first time, Gamera! Guardian of the universe!
If Godzilla does fight monsters, I hope they at least add King Ghidorah. Or if they're gonna add brand new monsters (which I hope they do), at least a monster in esque to King Ghidorah
If they keep the serious tone and the grim feel of the original Godzilla like as if it were a natural disaster occurring, I think they could accomplish quite a bit with the movie if it were just to have Godzilla in the movie by himself. In my opinion, it will probably be difficult to reboot a movie icon as famous as Godzilla while keeping the story focused on him at the same time if there is another monster running around.

The only thing I ask, as a fan are these steps.
1. Remake Godzilla, but keep him in the original form sort of look, but more badass for today's standards. And a lot of amazing flashy effects.
2. Make Godzilla fight 1 or more monsters. (Preferably more)
3. CGI is nice. But when you are making a Godzilla movie all CGI...Then I expect it to be much more better than peter jackson's king kong.
4. You are a fan yourself. Give us the Godzilla we want and love...Good Luck. I'll be seeing the movie.

He is reporting to Toho with designs an story with America's Reboot, that is all.. Something Toho didn't have control over in the 98 movie. So he isn't working on his script.. That was abandoned when Legendary Pictures got the rights..This is an entire different movie an Godzilla will be CGI, an will fight another monster. probably King Ghidorah or Rodan since there popular Gareth Edwards an an unknown writer r working on the script.
So this will be a great solid Reboot finally.

Stop motion is too much work and it just looks like clay, a guy in suit is way too obvious for the viewer to know it's just a guy in a rubber suit, Animatronics is not big enough. So that leads to CGI. I mean look at how Transformers turned out in CGI!

I don't think they're going to add any Toho monsters for Godzilla to fight. Legendary only got the rights to Godzilla so I think we're going to see fresh brand new monsters. But if they do add Toho monsters, they MUST have King Ghidorah!

She didn't come into full attention till the third act. I think they should do the same with the reboot, have it all focus on Godzilla but start getting into the monsters in the third act

Who says that it can't be the same Godzilla we know if its CGI? Besides, Rogers said that is is going to more like the old Godzilla. If they keep the serious tone and the grim feel of the original Godzilla like as if it were a natural disaster occurring, I think they could accomplish quite a bit with the movie if it were just to have Godzilla in the movie by himself. In my opinion, it will probably be difficult to reboot a movie icon as famous as Godzilla while keeping the story focused on him at the same time if there is another monster running around.

They have not decided on using him, he was banno's project which ended the minute Legendary Pictures got the right's for an American Reboot... So chances are we will see King Ghidorah or an Original Monster... Maybe Rodan or Anguris... Mothra an Mecha-Godzilla are sequel material is they appear at all.
They are taking this film very seriously, an if another Toho monster is used it will be a popular 1 so expect King Ghidorah or Rodan or both.
But Deathla is not in the Reboot
