rossiu was cracking under the pressure. he had to scramble for what he thought was the best ending, but it leaves him short sighted. of course the anti spiral would have something to intercept any humans who managed to escape earth. it wouldn't be a good eradication plan otherwise. it would have been better to assess the limits of the ark gurren for combat and simulate taking on the moon, but he's too stressed and plants his feet on his current choice regardless of the outcome.

This would hypothetically make The entire northern hemisphere uninhabitable as well as The entire planet, save for a few hundred thousand creatures, who would have to live on the only temperate, or at least life sustainable, area on earth left, the equator. And all that is based on if the moon were destroyed in space, not by planetary collision.
