I dont know if Gershwin200 can post the theme "baby make your own sweet music" inclued in the same Lp Greetings...... many fans here in Perú, South America are waiting.
My first visit to the Vietnam Memorial was two weeks ago. I cried from the time I got off the bus until we left. It opened old wounds for me so much so that just speaking of it again brings tears to my eyes. My entire graduating class 1966 was shipped there. RIP to all those that never came back. I miss you so much. :-(
@nhudley I hope someone was there to comfort you, it can be a little ooverwhelming your first time at the wall. I was there when it was dedicated to honor friends who did not come home. If no one has ever told you,THANK YOU for your service to this country. Take care.
God bless him! I was fortunate to have been in the 371st Army band, worse thing for me was cutting my lip on my sax reed. Much love and respect to the guys that did the fighting!
Hearing this as a teen, just learing about Motown (and from the comfort of the 80's) I thought it was a great Motown Sound record. Learning the story behind the record and the circumstances of the Viet Nam war being in full swing, suddenly the song took on a sort of chilling edge. I love it even more with each year that passes- just an full-on classic.

Turning 18 years old and being 1-A for the military in 1966 was kind of scary. R.I.P. to all those who paid the price in Viet Nam.

This wonderful soul number looked at the US Government sending out draft papers:
"I want to take you to a far off land
I need you
To lend a helping hand
Say goodbye to all your buddies
Say hello to your new friends
Cause your're in the army now....
With a rifle in my hand....
Oh no, please don't take me Uncle Sam"
