  • i love your marshall amp!! Original?

  • Very nice!

  • The thin sound has to come from not jumpering the channels, unless modded which I feel is unlikely for an older Marshall. I own one and its AMAZING but super loud and the channels pretty much have to be jumpered for best sound. Channel II gives the compression and bass whereas channel I is your treble/mids thing going on. These amps sound amazing clean, before they break up with either humbuckers or single coils but a Strat with Texas specials through my Handwired Plexi sounds killer

  • the distortion in my opinion sounds bad...thin...love the clean though...my guess is its the amp and pedal

  • lucky

  • Playing van halen tainted riffs on a 58' original. That's like throwing a pickle in a chocolate shake! To each his own to play his own.Rock on!

  • @LesterPaul01 Edward played Les Pauls early on.

  • lol, Jimmy Page's guitar could be refinished 1000 times and it will be worth more money than an all original unrefinished '59.

  • yeeeeaaaa....you probably shouldn't have refinished that guitar man

  • Nicely played. Good axe and amp. Clarity is sensational on the guitar, thanks for bringing that out.

  • Page had a black beauty Les Paul back in his session days.

  • Joe Walsh was the one who insisted that Page buy the cherry Les Paul. Joe didn't like the finish before or after he had it refinished. So Jimmy bought the guitar from Joe because of the shallow neck on it.

  • His name is Tim Gebel, ...he´s brilliant!

    check out his homepage: timgebel.com

  • This guy is an excellent player !

  • lovely, when and why was the refinish done?

  • Who refinishes a '58 Burst ?? And why ?

  • @huzza18

...I allready got it refinished (very bad!) in the first place!

  • @Guitarpointsound why would you do that :(

  • @huzza18 Jimmy Page had both of his 59's refinished.

  • @PBANDSNOW Well, I just wouldn't . I have a 1962 Fender Mustang. It's beat to shit but if I put laquer on it, I'm not sure if it would still sound as great as before.

  • @huzza18 Guys...maybe it would be hard to sell afterwards if don't make a great job out of it but damn, if you want you should! the sounds doesn't really change for a stupid different lack.. we are not talking about classical instruments (in which still the changes cannot really be heard)

  • @GianlucaMazzarolo Of course it`s a question of taste, but claiming that the lack doesn't change the sound is complete nonsense. Have you ever compared a Fender Custom Shop '57 NOS Strat with a Heavy Relic '57 Strat (same PUs, same fretboard , same wood) ? The relic Strat sounds a lot fatter , more responsive and all in all more "vintage". Try out yourself. I did. Talk to various guitar stores and most of the guys there will tell you about the missing lacquer that shapes the tone.

  • @huzza18 Sorry, i really understand what you mean, and i realize i've been too fast in my answer :) i just think that when you're on stage - there - it doesn't make much difference. There are just a lot of things that, live, influence your sound much more than the lack, such as the volume of the amplifier, using a pedal board, the quality of the pedals´or of the cables between the pedals or of the rack, the mic used to get your amp in the mixer, the place.. and so on

  • @huzza18 if you have good ear and you are playing in a small enviroment, with same settings everytime, known amplification.. exc, then and there you will clearly hear the difference you're talking about.

Appreciate the care you have for the sound though.

    peace.

  • @GianlucaMazzarolo Yeah that's it. All those small things matter and all togehter form the sound of an instrument. Spectators probably won't hear or see any differences ,but to my ears those details are just essential to find the sound I'm most comfortable with. greets !

  • @PBANDSNOW -jimmy page DID NOT have his #1 refinished, are you shittin me, he doesn't even play it on stage...that's a reissue.

  • @1954telecaster First thing. Yes, Jimmy Page did have both #1 and #2 refinished. It's been mentioned several times, most notably in a 1991 issue of gutiar player magazine, it had been refinished a few months before he aquired it.

He does play it one stage. He plays both on stage. The only reissue Page has used on stage in the last 20 years was his black beauty used at the 02 show.

If you wanna tango, go ahead, but you don't know what your talking about.

  • @PBANDSNOW -that's contrary to what i've heard but you sound like quite an obsessive fan so i'll take your word for it....

  • @1954telecaster I like to think so ;)

  • @PBANDSNOW Your talking about Jimmy Page. He's the tone god.

  • @LesterPaul01 Of course I'm taking about Jimmy Page...I said Jimmy Page ;)

  • @PBANDSNOW I meant it in a funny way, like Jimmy can afford to refinish his guitar. I wonder how costly it is refinish a Les paul? Rock on

  • @LesterPaul01 Oh, haha! For a full refin it cost’s about 500 dollars.

  • @huzza18 a couple of years ago, people liked clean guitars and would have their oldies refinished,

  • Aural bliss!

  • you can hear the chords seperated also because you have a vintage marshall.

    what model marshall is it?

  • @plexilespaull looks like 1959, maybe from the 70s due to the colour

  • @plexilespaull it looks like a jmp.

  • Sustain for decades!! Much love from Minnesota, U.S.A.

  • ich muss sagen...diese les paul klingt sehr dünn und fast schon zu krisp

  • a T-Rex Replica II

  • Please, there is a delay there ok? Could you tell what one is it? Greato sound.

  • @jcsk8

    ...Yes, it´s a T-REX Reptile II

  • @Guitarpointsound thanks

  • p.s.: hear some samples of SRV, PETER GREEN, BUDDY GUY, ... !!! take time ... !!! don't misunderstand my critic, it should be constructive !!! (... AND GIVE ME 2 % OF YOUR TALENT !!!!!) thank you for reading this comment and for your videos, please upload more, spec. longer runnings !!! LES

  • @lesleypaul59 I know those guys... I could also mimic those musicians if I liked to... but what would that have to do with my emotions? ;-) But I know what you feel and mean. Have a good time!

LES

  • hi TIM, nice playing, but have a look at your feelings, important in blues-style, don't pose so much !!! give more emotions to your playing, greetings from berlin, LES ( a les paul contents so much of it ... ! )
