I had a problem with EGL I was wondering if anybody on youtube could help me with (the EGL forums were useless). When I go to play EGL I get a message saying: "ERROR: GameAPI_Init: incompatible apiVersion (1 ! = 3) SHUTDOWN" Can somebody please help me with this? I need my HD Quake 2 fix :P

Try the Quake 2 evolved engine, now keeping inproving by Buzzard, research a bit on that and you will find the overdose game, an indie one who rises from q2 tech, and is awsome!

i remember then i saw my dad play this and one morning i turned on the computer and played it and it was awesome and this kinda suck this cant replace the real quake 2 with bad graphic its that who make this game the best game ever :)

i had this game for PC, but then it got to scratched up. i started playing when i was like 2. i blew a stroggs face off, laughed, and compleated the mission. my dad sat there, and said, "holy shit..." now i have it for xbox 360, and its still the most kick ass game in the universe.

If you wanna play this game still you can, if you have an xbox360 and Quake 4, and you look inide there is a bonus disk, run that and it says launch quake 2 :) i have almost completed it on my xbox, and it's as fun as playing it on computer :)

to get the real music you need the quake 2 cd. and just saying but i once had my quake 2 cd in the dvd slot and i was playing mortal kombat 4 and that same song started playing. sets a good ambiance for fatalities.

no, I just got done playing most of the game. It doesn't have a flashlight, you either have to adapt to the darkness or turn up the brightness

I think it's funny the N64 version said on the box the effects and graphics were improved from the PC version when in fact they were not at all. While still a fun game, you received an entirely different game not true to the story, poor music quality, and a rather disappointing final boss.

Not that I'm complaining of course...

hmmmm, I remember there was one in the first chapter. Its entrance was underwater. Beforce we face against the first dog-like parasite strogg.

Ye. And then far further in the game there was one secret level that had no strogg but pleanty of weapon. The level was like a laberinth and you had few seconds and run around collecting as much ammo as possible.

The further in the game another leve where you went into space on some strog space station and at the end you had to kill some boss. Years since I played the game... miss it :(

EGL quake is not really a remake, It's more like a graphical enhancement over the same engine. They just gave it a new name because of its new features.

Not bad, but you really should've shown more weapons. I mean, bullet holes and blood effects are nice but what would really sell the mod is showing the rocket launcher, railgun and hyperblaster / bfg

BTW, i should point out this graphic enhancer is compatible with other mods ;)
