I think is a very exciting platform (I'm afraid I can't call it an OS, even if that is just semantics). However, I'm confused about one thing -- how will you make money? I'm going to have my application, running for free, on your cloud, being used by users of your OS, who will use it for free? I know you can't be using the 90's Internet business model.

Good question, icloud is a freemium service, paid by advertisments and paid premium accounts (extra storage, no advertisement etc). Developers of applications will later have a market place to be able to also offer their applications either with advertisement or with paid subscriptions similar to the Itunes store.

No, mainly because it is about 70% of a traditional OS. We have of course not reinvented the wheel with the kernal, low level hardware drivers etc, since there are a couple of very good operating systems out there already, some for free. What we have done is to innovate on the parts that give the user more benefits and not is found in current operating systems.

For example "Share Window", native collaboration, indexing with fast search etc.

I do not trust it on internet explorer. so you better put it on firefox so i get no crap on my computer when i enter it.

Firefox will be available two months from now. icloud does not use any active X or install anything on your computer, so you will be safe even using Internet Explorer :-)

Sorry, unfortunantly that is not possible. Skipping .exe also removes a lot of the virus problems.

It seems to have issues with secure passwords (alpha numeric with extended characters)... I got my invite but cant use it due to unable to login. Also i cant seem to find a password reset option.

That is correct, we had a bug a few months ago. Now there also is a password change function on the login screen.

I love this kind of thing, I am waiting for my beta login.

I think this is the future for everyone, with all apps in the future being online, need to work on the performance and look and feel need to be skinable. Also there is lots of competition in this area so will be interesting to see which ones win.

Its not clear what are the advantages of using this... I got my invitation too. I want to kwo if there is any killer app ... At a first look its ok but i have the felling that I am still in windows...not nice. You still need windows to run this...

You will be getting your software for free, always updated and accessible from any computer. Since it's so easy to develop applications, in the future you can also expect to get software that no one will bother to develop otherwise.

XIOS/3 also introduces a new level of collaboration and sharing not seen in other OS:es :-)

Interesting product but the video could be much better. My suggestion would be to use a screencast, add voiceover and/or subtitles. Oh, and someone who speaks English natively.

okay. i love your vision and the technics seem great but whatabout the user interface? it looks so lame. like windows. why? i don't really like this presentation video with shaky camera and ninetees web-hype beats in the back. makes it look so unpro. but maybe that's your strategy?

You must have an amazing ability to spot AMD chipsets! Because how else would you know they didn't have Intel chips in those WinXP PCs! XD
