nontheless it looks fuckin awesome i'd rather have an HDTV running a 16:10 image on its native 16:9 than try running a 16:9 console game on a 16:10 native HD monitor. UNLESS the scaler is good ( EG the samsung syncmaster T220, which i own ) the scaler can literally define whether the monitor will be able to handle images properly. The t220 has advanced scaler technology not to mention a 20000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and a 2ms response time. Fuckin epic man. scaling on a t220 to 1080p works.
yes it is 1080p. on HDTV. But it is a computer game. He is running a computer to play the game. PC's are only capable of 1080i as progressive scan is not used by windows whatsoever. The RATIO is 16:10 for computer games and he is using a 16:9 screen ( THE HDTV ). do you understand yet or do i need to divulge into further detail....?
Errr.. Any Enthusiast level Nvidia card (8800GTS and up) has built in scalers. so if the panels scaler sucks you can get your GFX card to do it for you. does 1:1 ratio full screen fill and split screen.
I see a logi momo racing peeking out from the left.
nice but the only issue is computer games are built for the widescreen dropdown aspect ratio for LCD monitors, which is and always has been 16:10. HDTV's run a 16:9 dropdown which causes small scale warping to the picture. the same can be said with an LCD HD monitor trying to play a 1080p Xbox360 game. The monitor runs it as 16:10 even though the game is meant to be played at 16:9 Which warps your images , causes horrible interpolation, static contrast loss, and destroys vertical sync effect
Thanks for the vid , I should get my 37M86 delivered on tuesday and the idea was exactly to use it as monitor to the computer. Therefore I would be interested what are your experiences of using it with PC, (Vista, movies etc .) I am only wondering in what extend would my PC be enough (MSI 8800GT OC+ , 6600QC, 4GBDDR2)
Any dual/quad core is good, when i got this tv, the 8800GTX was the only GPU capable of running DX10 in 1920x1080. For DX9 games, your GPU will do the job in FullHD.
hey guys one question:theres a video on oyoutube that says something about an HDMi adapter for old xbox360 without HDMI ports..well my tv has HDMi and i would really like to use.my tv is HD ready lik 1368X768 or something.if i buy the hdmi adapter will i see a difference when displaying 720p and 1080i imagis or is it just another ripp off on internet? plz answerme, anyone who has used it . thx :)
Only 1080p sqare pixel can be a good computer monitor on HDMI.
Non sqare pixel tv's like many plasma screen are unuseable as monitor. The rest will do in low res, or i for interlaced movies only. You dont want to play games on 1080i rather switch back to lower res progresive, 720p.
In HDMI 1920x1080 its tjust a TFT Monitor, there is a special menu option for this (Gamemode). This TV does have square pixels, that is what you need from Windows.
PC's run in progressive scan dipshit

1080p is the NATIVE PIXEL RESOLUTION , yes. 16:9 is the NATIVE ASPECT RATIO FORMAT.... learn about widescreen formats dumbnuts...
GodlessMartyr666 3 years ago
This HDTV is 1080p, that's not interlaced!
The DX10 Game is redering 1920x1080, on a sqarepixel sreen, so you get a 16.9 image, no cropping or what so ever!

YES, BUT A COMPUTER CAN ONLY DISPLAY 16:10 it cannot scale to 16:9
GodlessMartyr666 3 years ago
This has been flagged as spam show
Windows can Run in 4.3 16:10 or 16:9 format or what ever, without scaling.
Allways use the native screen res. For most movies thats aspect ratio 16.9 or 2.35. windows can do all sizes and screen formats.

hmm... nice driving skills

Any real NFS gamer would just feel unclean to put it on "Casual". Learn to steer and break for yourself for cryin out loud!
And work out your own racing lines rather than just trying to sit on the theirs.
Game properly or you may as well just give up all together .....
