Drag strips are nothing. Its just short bursts of revs for 15 seconds max and your done. Try going around a track where engine revs are consistently around the up 6000 - 7000rpms for 30 minutes at a time. Not to mention the toll on the brakes and suspension.
In the drags, you strain the engine only for a short time and while your coming back to the starting line, your engine cools. No wonder you havent heard of the limp mode on the VQ's.
Take it to the track and see what happens. And read the forums.
HR is only 6hp more than my car. the DE is the better choice anyway when you want to start modding or go FI. Also, I spent some time on the forums, and the only thing overheating is the 370. Stop making stuff up.
@gruhonjic well to be honest with you its the other way around my friend Chrysler and Hyundai use Mitsubishi engines for instance the Genesis uses the evo 10 4b11 2.0turbo engine and also some other Hyundai models used the famous 4g63 engine and as far as Chrysler goes they option the v6 Mitsubishi engines.

yeah man, I actually was in the process of getting a G35 and I started hearing all this hype about the Genisis, then I saw it at the Philly autoshow and was like DAMN. The only thing Im waiting for is the see the mpg .... if its better than the G35 I might be sold
ur better off going with the turbocharged version, the v6 is getting like 26-27 mpg highway and 17-18 city. the 2.0T is getting 29mpg highway and 19 city. the tuners are getting on top of their game and a few cars are making 350whp, stock turbo with minimal mods. so 400whp is easily possible with the turbo version. and its 5 grand less than the v6 :)))))
Actually, it's not $5000 less than the V6 IF you're shopping equal trim levels. It's more like $3000. Not everyone wants to mod their cars to get that sort of power. The V6 makes more sense if it's a daily driver that won't be modded.
yeah, the tuning potential of the turbo definitely equals more hp for less money. unlike the evo this version of the 4b11 isn't semi sleeved, but you can count on somebody making sleeves for it. bolts ons, boost controller + tune will get you a lot of power.

no i haven't heard of that. And I have the VQ35DE, it's rock solid. Many trips down the dragstrip in this AZ heat and the temp gauge never moves.
