Would have loved to be able to turn on the radio and get a relatively wide variety of music instead of what we have today. I mean I like most music and appreciate stuff of today and of yesterday, but it's all the same when you turn on the radio now.
Starts to really anger you when the same song is repeated for six months then a new one comes out that sounds exactly the same then that one is flogged, etc etc.
1971...I was a Sr. In High School- Detroit Pershing, Jock Tackle, Science Geek, Part time Hoodie, Smoker and No-Joker. Best Thing in the World was for me to GoAway on a Football Scholarship to Tuskegee...Best Thing: My Sweetheart, Carmen!
amazing ...i was only 3 at the time but i remeber these songs on the radio - we had just moved into a new house and i remeber my mom and dad and brothers and sisters setting up everything in the house and my cleaning the kitchen with with the radio on..
@peteboy1113 So, what was her name? My reason to smile, ro always remember this time as magical was named Mark. We last spoke 36 years ago recently reconnected by phone only. It was sad to learn that we'd grown up differently, but that was OK. I was never very interested in knowing the man he'd become; I only wanted to remember the boy he was & the relationship we had. He'll always remain the love of my life, no matter what happens. He helped make that time very special.
16 and loving life.

Another start of a new school year for me back then, and this then 14-year-old would be listening to these tunes on WFIL Famous 56.
