  • 5 years ago a maltese/terrier showed up on our door step in terrible condition. White as snow, with beautiful big brown eyes. He was 3, looked abused and was in terrible condition. We took him in and he became the soul of our family with his beautiful nature, as he didn't have a bad bone in him. This June he passed away from heart failure, but I hope we gave him the best 5 years of his life with all the love we had for him.

  • Gosh, this is very touching! I cried at the end of this when Bruno was euthanized :( RIP Bruno, you are definitely missed!

    <3

That dog was CLEARLY well-tempered and would've been an excellent family pet. But I think a doggy heaven is better. <3

  • @oChaoticDarlingo

When i first saw him i thought he was from a circus coz he looked like a lion from how he looked but yea. That is sad and if their old dogs normally they tend to get sicker as they get older and in worst cases are these. Mine passed away he was a Jack russle 13 years, he actually escaped and we couldnt find him. so we dont know if someone good has him or if he is dead. I searches for this video but was so sorry that the part of the cemetary keeper left out.

I would like to see it again en let my kids in the Netherlands see that part.

    please what can I do?

  • You can get the DVD at Amazon.

    Dogtown-Second Chances

  • i wanna see the part where the cemetary keep gave his little speech and talked about what the windchimes meant :[ it was actually really touching I almost cried

  • what did he say they meant??

  • It makes me sad that Bruno had to die, But nomadder what I will try to remember to Love all animals. This dog has Inspired me to be a better Animal person.

  • he looks like a teddy bear! its so cute!

  • Aahhh... I love Bruno.. :(

  • sooooooooo! sad

  • sooooooooo! sad, i am crying :'(

  • the beautiful cementery made me cry

when I saw the rows of graves and the twinkling chimes just made me choke up

  • Me too =[

  • WOW Bruno Died So Sad...

  • whats euthanized?

  • Basically, if the animal is in bad condition and is suffering, the animal is put to sleep.

I had a dog who had a tumor in his tummy and it was not operable. My dog suffered with pain. He stopped eating and can barely walk. He was 14 years old (human years)

With that, we wanted his suffering to stop. So, we put him to sleep (euthanized). It's a small injection that contains a poison to stop the heart beat and functions of the body. It's very painless.

  • Not true. Euthanasia is not just used to end suffering. It is also used if animals don't get adopted at a some shelters. Whether by injection or a gas chamber. Please know what you're talking about first, don't spread misconceptions.

  • Wow twisted stomach? its just like on marley and me. bad thing is, they had to put him down :'(

  • yea they put marley down as well :'(

    hope it was fixable

  • is it free to adopt em and is there one in canada??

  • im crying :'(

  • Bloat is very hard to treat because it quite often returns quickly after the initial treatment. I would hazard a guess that Bruno had some sort of abscess or dental problem that caused him to drool. It could also explain his lack of balance, if the (abscess/tumour) was pushing on critical nerves.

  • omg that dog is sooooooo cute!!

  • That is so sad what happened to Bruno.

    :(

  • they put him down because he was suffering from some sort of bloating sickness

  • im just glad that with modern medicine they can make it painless, but yeah thats sad =[

  • he seems like a lion..love Bruno!

  • I WANTED BRUNO . I LUVD HIM .

  • :( This made me cry so bad because it reminded me of when I had to put down my Chow.. Atleast he was around people who cared for him before he was put down, poor thing.

  • I love you, Bruno.

  • huhu..=( this made me cry.

  • it made me cry :(

  • it makes me happy seeing that there are alot of good places on the earth still..

  • Rest In Peace Bruno! ;(

  • goodness that nearly made me cry :(

  • <3 bruno :'(

  • oh my god...... poor bruno, he died i feel really bad my neighbors dog died a few years ago from a biran disease might be spelled wrong

  • I fell so in love with him :(

  • remember in peace Bruno, R.I.P

  • God Bless Dogtown for doing wonderful things for these animals. We love you Bruno. R.I.P. little one. I do think that the pet cemetery is a very nice place for these animals to be buried. Very quiet, very peaceful and each one gets a beautiful plaque with their name, their collar and the stones. The gentle breeze also lets us know that each dog is running free and kicking up the wind so those wonderful wind chimes can be heard.

  • i cried. T_T i would have adopted bruno if i could. T_T

  • Blue buffalo is the only food I will feed my dog, and another okay kind now and then ... most dog food brands put junk in them, they used fillers like cornmeal and they use organs and stuff (disguised as by-products) ... Blue buffalo uses good ingredients like whole chicken and turkey, veggies and fruit, it's like the only one out there that is worth giving dogs. They also make canned meals to beef your dog up, so it's a fairly balanced diet, very healthy.

  • There is better dog foods than Blue. Blue actually made both my dogs very, very sick. And they both lost weight from it..Odd but true. There are some amazing raw diets you can find online that are organic..And they are all ground up and cold pressed..Nothing is cooked. Heating food makes it lose vitamins. Blue is better than a lot of low end dog food..but its not the best. The best would be something organic and something that was never heated at high temperature.

  • thank you dogtown for caring. I only adopt rescues now and the two dogs and cat we got are wonderful. One dog we got was three days away from being put to sleep. She is amazing. Our other was walking down an open highway. We got a full bred carin like the one we had that died.

People need to know that they can get rescues from internet in the breeds they want. We will never do it any other way. Animals need rescue.

  • I only fed him organic food-the best liquid vitamins etc. Also fresh food as well and raw things-fruit and veggies. I wonder if poor Bruno would have benefited from a better diet. I know they did the best they knew how though and he could have lived a life on a chain with bad food so there might not of been anything anyone could have done. I am just glad he got to spend his last weeks with people who cared for him and gave him a warm place and a loving touch. I love senior dogs-Heartbreaking

  • This is awful. What a sweet baby. I wonder what kind of food they fed him...My Dad kept my poodle when I was younger for a few years..and he was getting older. And he wa sin perfect health until my Dad got him. He was on his death bed and a senior when I took him to live with me. He had more problems than Bruno. But..he recovered and is now 15-2 years later and he is like a pup again. Some things like his legs, skin, eyes, & hearing will never be the same-but he is happy and healthy now-

  • Awesome people:}.We need more places and people like that. Comapssion is a gift!

  • I am charmed with this tv show.. I always watch it..

  • brought tears to my eyes..amaizng i love you bruno....leave me a polished stone too

  • I know its maybe a little odd to comment on, but... what a beautiful pet cemetary. Clean and wide and open, and simple... with their collars left behind and the polished stones... the wind chimes... I actually cried thinking that Bruno wouldn't be suffering anymore, and there was a place that was so beautiful for a final resting place.

  • i want that dog!

  • omg this brought me to tears, poor bruno!!!!

  • Bruno looked like a grizzley bear. Sad though. cute dog.

  • Angel's Rest. Aptly named.

  • OMG, thats sooo sad ='( poor Bruno, but at least now he will never feel pain again,

And thank God theres people like them out there that love animals enought to give them a new life and hope

    God Bless you

  • im crying...T.T he was so adorable toooo

  • but so what if Bruno is suffering? atleast he gets to live dont need to kill him. ;[[

  • no do you want him to suffer and be in pain or be in peace?

  • aw poor dog ;[ actually made me cry

  • Bruno looked like a lion with his short main and fiery-end tail

  • that is so sad...

  • Damn... I cried. Poor Bruno.

  • me 2, i wasnt expecting tht ending...

  • me 3 :(

  • broke my heart

  • check out his awsome fuzzy hair its cool he looks like a lion!!!

  • There is disagreement on raising a dogs bowl for eating. My Dane was getting belly aches (big dogs prone to twisting gut)and I put her bowl back on the ground and the problem is gone. The idea is that bringing the food up allows the dog to gulp to much food and air and it can cause digestion problems. It may be Brono should not have been fed at an elevation, especially if he was not use to it. My 16 yr old collie dog lays down on her belly to eat. She likes to take her time.

  • i mean dogtown*

  • this made my cry like for real. poor bruno.. and all the other dogs that have been thru hard times. it's such a good thing their doing at dog down. one day i hope i can help animals the same way.

  • Tears are flowing..Thank you Dogtown peeps for what you do now will be rewarded in Gods Kingdom!!! :)

  • a thousand thankyous to the compasionate people at dog town at least his last days bruno stayed with loving people.

  • 10 yrs ago a chow/lab mix puppy was abandoned near our home. She had mange so badly we knew she'd be put down if we took her to the shelter, so we decided to cure her mange and get her healthy first. Of course by then she was ours. She turned out to be so pretty. She had a red coat, and we named her Scarlett. Last May 21 she passed on, but she was such a big baby love all her life. We will love her forever. You folks in this video are so special, the animals so precious. You'll be in my prayers.

  • I adopted a Chow despite being told how "mean" they were. Shanza was the sweetest, smartest most loyal dog I ever owned and Bruno reminded me of her.

  • There's something so much more dignified about that sandy little cemetary with polished stones and rusted windchimes than I've ever seen in prim, proper, impersonal plots of grass.

I hope he rests peacefully there

  • thats sad i wish i could adopt a dog like bruno RIP BRUNO

  • bruno rest good my friend!

  • rest in peace Bruno ...

  • RIP BRUNO =[

  • you know why Bruno's story is sad for me because I will never know for sure if he felt loved during those short times at dogtown, I dont know if pets can feel and understand compassion and if pets go thru an after-life something like the rainbow bridge

  • aww bruno!! T-T ish ok... u look so adorable..and i bet in heaven ur have all the friends you want! heck,u even got god by ur side RIP dude..rip..

  • ı wanna do smth for them too

  • Heck, this made me cry. He deserved a better life than that, but I'm glad he was among friends at the the end.

    R.I.P dear Bruno.

  • Rest in peace Bruno.......for you are now among the stars, looking down upon the few people who cared for you and loved and now you are watching over them!

  • he looks like a lion LOL

  • Wow, this is the first time i liked the people/animals in the video. These guys/galls deserve all the happyness in the world.

    R.I.P Bruno. <3

  • I saw this on TV the other day. I still can't get over the fact that he was put down.

  • omg i cryed after thsis vid

  • Poor Bruno T^T

  • This dog reminds me of a dog I had... I gave him a new home, and I enjoyed watching him walking, eating.. everything... suddenly one day he slept all day under my kitchen table... I though he was tired, and I let him sleep. Once I came home. He was still sleeping there... I got a shock, I couldn't wake him up, he didn't breath, he was light... and.. yea.. He's Resting In Peace now.. I really miss him..

  • when i grow up i really want to adopt dogs and not get them from breeders

    these people are so nice

  • poor bruno.. i have a dog that i adopted a 6 week old dog when i was 6 and now my dog is almost 8 yrs old

  • i agree :)

  • Sad story.. but curiosity is kicking me here.. where does Dogtown get all the money for that resort?!

  • it's all donations and fundraisers. they also have people regularly visiting as 'tourists' and they pay for lodging that is on the property. tons of people volunteer there so there is barely any overhead.

  • Holy crap..That...was sad. And cold-hearted me cried...

  • hoe mah gowsh!

im sobbin where i stand! :'( literally

i only knew bruno for like, wat, less then a few seconds, i grew so attached to him! in those few seconds! hoooeeee mah gowsh!

  • I would have adopted him ;_;

  • i feel so bad for bruno! i almost cried!

  • awe:'( Poor Bruno. Rest in peace.

  • It's an excruciating decision. At least the last thing Bruno experienced was the love in your voice, the comfort of your home, and his last look was in your kind eyes. All my pets had tragic first lives. My goal, like you said, is the hope when it's their time to leave will think "this world wasn't such a bad place after all."

  • yes. just being in the company of kind people and fellow animals temporarily distracted bruno from any pain and discomfort he was experiencing with his illness. this was a much better way to go than on a cold table in some city shelter.

  • I had just finished watching this episode. Let me tell you, I don't have any pets of my own but I sobbed and cried for Bruno, which I very rarely do. It was truly sad seeing Bruno suffering from neurological problems, walking uncoordinated, tilted head, standing and just facing the corner of the room during his last days. It was much more sad than happiness.

  • I FEEL THE SAME WAY...

  • so sad. He died

  • Bruno looks like an old tiger

  • i cried when i watched this video. being an animal is hard, all they recieves some from us is descrimination. and i totally hate that. Reace in peace bruno, i'm here.

  • Ya well yaknow yaknow

  • &hearts

  • ha thats were i live in the town
