umm... does she know what "oxymoron" means? and would she know the DSM if it hit her in the face? I can't make fun of her. Its like kicking a dog with 3 legs.
The Citizens Commission on Human Rights (CCHR) is a mental health watchdog, responsible for helping to enact 150+ laws protecting us from abusive or coercive practices.
CCHR has fought to restore human rights to mental health, including, full informed consent regarding the medical legitimacy of psychiatric labels,Risks of psychiatric treatments,

The illness is being diagnosed because of general practitioners rather than the doctor refer the patient to a psychiatrist, who is a SPECIALIST. Further, they now classify 4 different types of Bipolar Disorder, including Cyclothymia. So there are many diagnosed whose symptoms are not as severe as someone who has a more severe type to the point of disability and inability to work. I found relief with new meds. The "well-tested" ones made me worse.
@dbzman1985 Wow your I.Q is so low I don't even know how you typed those 3 idiotic sentences. My sister (26) has had extremely severe OCD since she was 11. She's had deep brain surgery, taken over 30 medications, and yet still has to repeat everything she says exactly 16 times to get the right "feeling". You think that she wants to do that? NO. Did you spell religion wrong? YES. Now why don't you go get an education and help the world a little.
Vitamin and mineral deficency's ( ((( ie Zinc,B6,B12 or omeaga 3 ))) are just a few of the deficencies that can and will result in mood disorders like BIPOLAR,ANXIETY,DEPRESSION etc.

Whether or not a small child may have Bipolar - who knows? However, in any case, I disagree with any sort of medication at such a young age. There was a point where I was hospitalized due to a certain medication, and I imagine the negative effects in such a case could/would be worse for children. They are still developing. They're so young. I felt sick whenever I saw a 7 year old leaving the psychiatrist's office, and couldn't believe my same doctor allowed them to take meds. Lay off the pills.
Bi-Polar, *polarity? As in Electromagnetics? Yes. Which is also Frequencies? Yes.
Doesnt TV emit Frequencies? Yes, Radio? yes, Cell phones? yes.
Are they bad for us? Yes. Has it been proven? Yes. Where? Dirty electricity.
Do they know, Yes. Is it a method of control? Yes. The mind is a frequency? Yes. Does tv alter this? Yes.. How? Magnetics.. Polarity is magnetics as much as a frequency of light/sound. Learn about all of this, but, Meditation will Return you to normal, i promise you all.
it is over diagnosed. less than a quarter of the people diagnosed are actually manic depressive. Save the negative reply for some one who gives a shit.
There's a small and excellent online depression support group called Depression Hangout that is always open to anyone who is struggling with mental health problems (not just depression). It's run in its own chaotic way by its members who meet regularly in the chat room and it's a great place to seek and provide help and support, make new friends and even just have a laugh. (We all need that too!) To join just go to depressionhangout-dot-blogspot-dot-com.
most of the times it is inherited...really, I grew up with a mentally ill mother from the 60's ran in her family....
then I married a man that was bipolar, but still no one absolutely no one understood it in the early 70's....then my son was diagnosed...now my granddaughter...hmmm coincidence...I don't think so, this is a chemical inbalance in the brain which doctors have a hard time figuring out....this is a heriditary disease.....it can happen at any age...SNAP!!!
i ahve bipolar and i am on medz so i decided 2 make a group called "kids with bipolar" and its on facebook so please please join my group because who ever has bipolar is not the only one who has it and will know that he/she is not the only one with his own problems and people can relate to each other on my facebook and say what the problem is and maybe others could help :) godbless
@liveandlearn123 I am the same way, although I wasn't diagnosed until I was eighteen years old. I displayed the symptoms throughout my entire life, and when I was eighteen, at least I got some sort of explanation for it, even if not the "answer."
i just wonder how can you diagnose a 3 yr old with bipolar when it can take 3+ years to diagnose an adult im by polar myself and did have symtoms as early as 6 but would have puting me on say litium back then done me any good at all and i would defenitly have phisical damage done to my tyriod and other parts of my body. the wildest kids i knew growing up are not mentaly ill but would easly have been diagnosed with bipolar adhd or depresion
Not denying Bipolar, but we have to start wondering about the rate of over-diagnosis when diagnosis in children alone has increased 4000%. Is it the freaking drinking water? I honestly wonder if putting kids on stims (remember a percentage start of with ADD/ADHD) can cause behavioral changes that mimic bipolar. Not to mention the ever widening diagnostic criteria of the dsm, just to make sure ya hammer down all those nails that don't fit just right. just thinking aloud.
Why don't psychiatrists make house calls and cure everybody for free on the grounds that people cannot afford to see psychiatrists and/or refuse to see psychiatrists even though people need to see psychiatrists? My name is Fred Tenzer, I was born in Brooklyn, New York City, New York, USA, I live in Brooklyn, New York City, New York, USA, and my email address is rocket88_doowop@yahoo.com
Speaking as someone with mental healthe issues. My illness didn't manifest itself until about 9th grade.
I had did not suffer from mental illness before that. But everyday since 9th grade. My own belief is that with children what is normal and what isn't is such a fluid situation it's too difficult to determine if something is out of the ordinary.
THE only reason people go to a Pysch. is to get a lable . A lable that was voted on by other psychiatrist's at a convention of psychiatrist's , with drug makers also at the same convention . How convenient .
I love my son with all my heart, but he is bipolar. 3 separate psychiatrists confirm it. He sees the leading researcher in the field. His sweet life is almost unbearable to him. Yet, morons who never met my kid denounce the diagnosis. How about this? You just need to be more strict with that kid with "cancer" and it will go away. That "leukemia" your kid has could be fixed if you gave him to me for a few days. If you don't live with it, stfu.
@spaceoreo I don't know if cured is the right word, but if it weren't for my husband and him helping me get saved, I would probably be like all the bipolar ppl in my family, taking street drugs, smoking, drinking, cursing all of the time; I started to go in that direction. I'll admit, yes I have mood swings, but I'm still mentally THERE to tell myself what to do and what not to do, what's right and what's wrong. I still struggle, but I see that as simply being human. Prayer gets me through. <3
This is stupid, Ofcours bipolar has risen 4000%! it's because you let us "crazies" out into society now! we used to be locked up for life back in the day. now we are free to mingle with the rest of the world and have offspring, since bipolar is biological, it is passed down. 25% chance your kid getting it if you are bipolar, 50% chance if both parents are bipolar. that is the true reason why!
and sticking to lithium has given me fewer side effects than the newer drugs like epival.
I believe that one is born bipolar, just as one is born female, male, or gay. However, I believe that bi-polar has become a catch-all for many and easy to misdiagnose. I have recognized bipolar affective disorder in a child myself, but I wouldn't put a toddler on medication. Medication should always be a last resort. And if anyone REALLY wants to be a part of the solution, donate your brain - it is called an anatomical gift. They don't even ask that question at the hospital.
Could there be a possibility that we ourselves are raising these children wrong!! There is a complete lack of awarness in our public system, our children are devided, they are being trained by our "Rules" when these Teachers are degrading our children for their looks and clothes do you think it may have a factor about how people feel about themselves. Thats the issue of depression, not feeling or feeling to much. Just study your schools rules closely! Why do we feel not good enough? Hmm?Abuse!!
yeah well what are the syntomes that they present to make you say they are bipolar? I was listening and from the begining, waiting for that information! I would like to know that! find it really strange...
boy ,there is alot of non-bipolar know it alls that comment on bipolar disorder,ya know people that really got it all "figured"out, the thing is i would rather listen to a trained professional than somebody that graduated from ARMCHAIR UNIVERSITY(and to clear things up ,im not talking about Katie) just what a person needs to hear in the throws of mania "you dont need medication"..... how fucking irresponsible can you be ?
@greatnothing42 I have bipolar disorder and OCD. I tell anyone ... but mostly, people still blame it on being weak, etc. People shouldn't talk about what they don't know.
@greatnothing42 u say trained professionals...psychiatrists don't follow the same approach as doctors do when they diagnose. There is no proof or way of measuring the supposed "chemical imbalance" which is blamed for this "abnormal" behaviour.
Go read some of the books by Prof Thomas Szasz on psychiatry. It will gove you a greater insight into the origin and real motives behind psychiatry.
I have more respect for prostitutes than psychiatrists.
Behavioral science is pseudoscience because you can’t objectively measure “behavior”. A bunch of quacks meet up in a conference room and vote on what’s an illness or not, and their final collaboration becomes the DSM book.
I'm bi-polar! Reason: 12 years of heavy drug abuse and alcoholism.. I started doing cocaine when I was 15 for 10 years....Manic episode ended with myself in jail and I quit taking my meds!

Psychiatry has you all fooled. Don't believe the lies of psychiatry, they have killed your friend, family members, someone you know. ALL psychiatrists must be arrested, prosecuted, tortured and disposed of.
thank you for the suggestions =]. i am actually getting ready to start seeing a new doctor here in about 2 weeks. im very nervous and scared about the situation, but i guess its normal for everyone to feel that way. the past doctor i was seeing rarely said anything to me about having bipolar or any other disorder. i felt like i couldnt connect with that doctor, so i ended up not going back.
but i def hope this new doc. is much better. thank you for the support!! greatly appericate it :D
America is over medicated. Starting kids off at the age of three on medication for symptoms that arent fully diagnosed. Bipolar is another term for Manic depression, the third level of depression so thats severe depression. What they hell could a 3 year old be depressed about people, it could just be behavioral, cognitive, emotional, and or mental issues. The only ones benefiting are the pharmaceutical companies they laugh their way to the bank, while everyone else is in a mental hospital LOL
1 star. Why? For perpetuating the absurd notion that the only way to treat "mental illness" is through this monstrous, egomaniacal, arrogantly ignorant mad scientists (psychiatrists), all the while ignoring other possibilities, causes and treatment options. And it's all for the money of it, banking off of other people's misery.
What I would like to know is this. Where do they dig up people like you who have absolutely no idea what you are talking about? There should be an IQ test that people have to take before they can get on public forums on the internet. Self induced Bipolar Disorder? I don't know from what hallucination you got this idea but do everyone a favor. Stop spreading your misinformation about serious problems around the net because you know not what you speak of.
Yes it's a mere fad among psychiatrists (or at least I hope it's a mere fad). I was imprisoned for 3 weeks after I was diagnosed because I was "dangerous to myself and others" even though I wouldn't harm a soul. Of course, nearly everyone blindly accepted the diagnosis without question and I was hammered on. "you're sick you're sick sick sick sick sick sick sick sick," Not to mention the harmful drugs. Is that supposed to helpful? Is that supposed be constructive?
ive just been diagnosed with bipolar and im 21, almost 22. its kinda hard to believe that kids as young as 3 can be diagnosed with it. i cant still really believe that i am "bipolar" but my counselour believes i am bipolar b/c of all the symptoms i have been explaining to her. so ive ended up getting diagnosed with it. but sometimes i feel that bipolar can be mis diagnosed or under diagnosed. its all rather confusing really
See another doctor and start from square one again and see if the same outcome happens. What do you have to lose. That is only one persons opinion. Knowledge is key, understand what your symptoms are for yourself and read and search. Keep track and understand yourself. Just a suggestion tho.
I believe to that the mind can beat it and understand it to because my great friend has the illness and we've talked loads about it. He understands it and recongnises all the signs and beats its arse everyday. He just turn 40 and im so proud of him and all his strength he has everyday!!! You rock mate!!!
One of two things, either the psych doctors are over-diagnosing or they are able to identify the disorder at a younger age when they could not before. On this one, if I were a parent, I would get at least a second opinion if not a third.
Hello from Polish Guy who has study bipolar for a long time . There is natural cure. Mineral water from Poland with large amount selenium lithium in the natural form. I need Investor to start new partnership business in US ( I am in Arlington VA since 1989 ) and help people the natural way My name is: Lech Alex Bajan just google
The reson most disoreders like this are around is so that when a kid gets annoying, the teacher sends them to get tested, when they come back they have "ADD"
Now, he has to take pills that will make him abnormally calm, just 'cause the teacher doesn't wanna deal with him

bi-polar is a joke, people can controll their emotions, it IS real, but, the way people act like "i can't have a normal life!" bullshit, bitch, controll your emotions, or better yet, GET A HOBBY
bipolar patients have prolonged sadness (3-4 months) and prolonged happiness without apparent reason. There are chemical imbalances in their brain and some patients suffer from hallucinations if not properly medicated.
take no notice of gurn si he obviously has nothing better to do than post crap for months on the same subject he knows nothing about .. just a wind up merchant and not worth arguing with ..... one sad muppet !
GurnSi this is the second BD video I've seen the same comment from you on.
What's your point? you've had a bad expeirence with somebody with BD and want to warn people off?
My wife has dealt with most the things you mention before I was diagnosed and medicated except cheating and violence. She knew I wasn't well before it was confirmed and didn't ditch me on grounds of illness.
I think some people mainly americans no offence are alittle too sensitive and problems like these can lead to the people that genuinely do have these problems to not being diagnoised

Thinking of a relationship with a Bipolar? Count on: Drug, tobacco, alcohol abuse Lying/exaggerating Boasting/grandiosity Irrational conduct Causeless, unpredictable rants Endless insults, demands for money Paranoia, unending complaints about everyone Violence;verbal abuse Breathtaking hypocrisy No remorse/conscience,never "Sorry" Immorality/cheating/lawsuits They're perfect;always right but never learn Crazy destructive moods, habits, sleep patterns Recklessness re home, work, driving, money Pain, grief.
Joelibra633, for sure you only have half of the symptoms at any time. But at some time or other, you have exhibited all or almost all of them. Please stop your misconduct, OK?
Of course, I had almost all of those symptoms. But some of them "Unfaithfulness, lying, etc" those I've never had. Actually I am too honest most of the time lol.
such an expert gurnsi i wonder if you have ever visited a mental asylum if you had you would know they are not nice places and noone in their right mind would pretend too get in a place like that im told im sciztophrenic to me thats cancer of the mind not a wanted label . . . why cant you make a point even if its wrong without being such a big wanker about it why argue with people . . no not harmful to anyone are you ?
@GurnSi I "possibly" have cyclothymia, a mild type of bipolar.I don't do drugs. I don't lie. I don't boast. I don't act irrational that I know of. This is a rant for a cause, and it was predictable seeing as you've posted this on several bipolar videos. I don't insult people unless they ask for it, I'm not violent, I say sorry, I have morals thank you very much, I know I'm far from perfect, and I don't cause anyone pain or grief that I know of or any of that stuff. Now what is your problem?
Depression can be defined as a (total) lack of motivation. And what really happens is that you realize that all these chores that we are born into (go to school, get a job, pay taxes, buy a house, buy a car...), are not worth the hassle. The philosophy of utilitarianism (more toys) is not making everybody happy. So for you who belong in this group, here's some drugs. You disagree? Well you don't have a choice, open your mouth and say aaaaah...
medicine is given out very easily, just hav 2 tell the doctor u're depressed, 'there ya go drugs 4 ya' but still i do think bipolar is increasing these days aswell
Per PubMed, BIPOLAR may be a cynical fraud+hoax to explain justify excuse encourage: cruel selfish unreasonable immoral vindictive antisocial boastful deceitful self-centered vicious irrational vile/evil behavior+lies, to get kicks/sympathy/drugs/attention /welfare. Shrinks collaborate. WARNING: If bad luck brings a bipolar to you: save time, money, grief, your own sanity - RUN! Now. Shun them forever. You can't fix them; they are hooked on being how they are. Find folk worthy of your kindness.
Please go to Yahoo and type in "Horrible Truth About Psychiatric Drugs" to see a research paper exposing these drugs. Also so the search "Documented Proof Psychiatric Drugs Shorten Lifespan". Be sure to include the quotes. You will learn information no psychiatrist will tell you. These drugs destroy fertility and libido and cause impotence and extream disphoria and obesity. The promote suicide and violence not prevent it.
Bipolar Magazine in Canada actually has stories about children as young as 8 who have been diagnosed, but it is RARE so 4000% sounds like a wild number!
what a moronic woman! how can she actually say that kind of stuff on tv without knowing anything about the disease or about children? i mean, honestly, CHILDREN CANNOT be detected being bipolar, because it's perfectly normal for them to not be able to suppress emotions. just because a kid seems manic, it doesn't mean it actually is.
sorry i don't know how to explain that in english, but i hope you get the point anyway...
Its more like... It depends on the person.. some medicines work for some people.. while it makes others much worse.. I get delusion as well.. delusions of people talking bad about me people talking shit about me.. ect ect... weed makes me think "wtf are u talking about.. no one is talking shit ur cool.. everything is cool"
I have bipolar ll.. i was taking six different medications a day.. but luckily i found out another medication.. CANNABIS.. and let me tell u.. i feel more normal than before... now i dont have to take those six medications that were killing my stomach and liver..
weed does make me feel normal too. But it often leads me to lose control at times, like freaking out at people and when im not high i sometimes dont feel right. but yes it is awesome. So basically what i am saying is you may feel okay but outward appearances may prove to be different that what you feel yourself
This is overdiagnosed now-BEWARE. Some of the medications are terrible with side effects. This is big business now. I was diagnosed over 20 years ago with this and have bipolar one with psychotic features; This is the "worst one". I would not get rid of it if there was a magic pill. It is part of who I am; It makes me -- me - and that is a beautiful thing. Once youget used to this it is very manageable. The news paints us as terrible on occasion. Don't buy into it--you are the salt of the earth!
Bipolar disorder is real. I actually used to be in complete denial of my disorder but despite my attempts it is still there. I'm considered recovered because I learned to accept that I have this illness and I learned to control my actions even if I couldn't control my thoughts. Why do people feel it is a character flaw? I would give anything to reach a point of stability, and I strive for that, but I realize I have to make the best of my situation no matter how painful it truly is.
I have been diagnosed with bipolar disorder for three years now but I've had obvious symptoms for over five. I was early onset because I was twelve. I'm not denying the fact that a four-year-old can have bipolar disorder, but how exactly can you tell when they are four. Isn't it a part of a child's normal develepmont to be confused emotionally and act out at a young age? Giving children that young an official diagnosis just seems wrong to me. Putting children on Lithium makes me sick.
try try try to look beyond your pity....when we break and feel we can no longer be put back together, then thats when the improvement comes. while there is no promise that Jesus will carry us above every hardship and pain, he will sustain our drive and give us new meaning..and in the times he does fulfill our needs, they are so much greater than anything we can know. i love you all and care about you all and i will go on with this so much more if you'd like. send me a message if you'd like.
we humans strive so much to seek so much by our own power and overlook the greatness of God, our first love. dont tell me this is not the case, because it is. all mental and heart trauma and anguish is grounds for spiritual breakthrough and is more than a mere diagnosis in the eyes of man. its the opportunity to rise above and seek the Lord when all other means run out. im talking about dependence upon drugs, ritual, selfishness, others, attention, self inflicted pain or sorrow. look farther
I Bipolar was linked to parasites and was curable, then i'm quite sure that everyone with disease would all be normal. But that is not true. I've had the disease for 2 years
i have all of the bipolar symptoms and i'm pretty sure i have parasites as well. I'm gonna find out if i do have them, doing the parasite test and then will follow with treatment right after and see if my bi-polar symptoms go away. But this is all through the internet anyways so nothing can really be confirmed. ill update on my progress here if thats means anything
forget self induced attention from the illness. use it to improve yourself like no other. wait.....i understand what you might say....how can you? exactly....we cannot muster the drive or ambition to do so, but God can..he can and will change us and our lives to change others...to do more than complain to others about our pain or whether others understand or not. lets look past this. Jesus suffered more than anyone will or ever has. but he moved on as he is God in the flesh paying for our sins

Katy hit the nail on the head- This is a BULLSHIT disease. Overdiagnosed. I wish the medical community would devote more resourses to real problems like cancer, obesity, Diabeates, MS, and AIDS. THIS IS WHY WE HAVE A HEALTH INSURANCE CRISIS IN THIS COUNTRY!!!!
You have no idea what u r saying. This is a real disease that affects thousands. I am sure I had it as a child and was undiagnosed recently. I am now 42. My life has been a living HELL. All personal relationships have been damaged, most beyond repair. The world does not understand the suffering that exists within the minds of those who have this painful disease. Your ignorance is typical

some of speaking about world issues. spiritual anguish, heartfelt topics, warm topics, nothing that does not need to be addressed. i do my best not to make any judgments and predestinations, especially uncalled for, to affend anyone in anyway. i strive to understand all and to love on another. if and when i fail at this, i ask that i be picked up again. passion and compassion work together. i love your username. rely on God. that is very fitting. God bless you all and if any would like to travel
It is not a Bullshit Disease, but I would say that psychiatric illnesses are not properly treated or studied. One of my good friends had been diagnosed with Bipolar and sufferes from Rapid Cycling. It's evident in her diet, behaviour, tolerability, and health.
i find it really annoying how people claim they "had bipolar" and how exercise/diet cured them...wtf...if exercise and diet cured ur bipolar you MOS DEF did NOT have bipolar to begin with...
bipolar is soooo debilitating its deadly serious...medications are a god send..wat r u supposed to do when someone's having psychotic delusions trying to kill themself?? give them a carrot and teach them yoga?
depression is but an opportunity to grow in the eyes of God and be filled. when we feel we need the most, when we are empty and in utter despair, this is breeding grounds for saturation and a chance and opportunity to be filled. prayer, praise, fellowship, close ones, and a healthy environment for all of these to foster. =D
i do have a blog in fact my man, but we are taught to encourage others and do what we can to share good word. if you think you've heard it all, i doubt you've heard that all mind and emotional disorders have spiritual origin, among many other things. cheers. =D

EVAN. you probably never had a bipolar disorder right...WELL a little bit of praying wont work..pffff i get so angry when i read this..your are DESPERATE when you are bipolar. last thing on your mind is to pray..you talk about god this that. what has that to do with this all? NOTHING NADA NIENTE..be a realist..if praying would work for everything..pff probably the whole world prayed alll dayyyy long . dont get me wrong i believe but dont suggest solutions dont wont work.
The cause of bipolar disorder has not yet been discovered. Many researchers believe that heredity is an important factor. Two-thirds of bipolar patients have a family history of mental disorders. Some research studies claim to have found a genetic link for bipolar disorder. Genes are the chemical units present in all cells that tell cells what functions to perform. Genes are passed down from parents to children.
yeah. thats cool. im not going to worry about trying to convert everyone anymore, plus its pretty much impossible to do such. i probably don't have bp, i don't know. all i can say is that in the past prozac, concerta, etc didn't mix well with me, so perhaps not.
push through it even if it hurts and if roadblocks are seemingly everywhere. this is what every stumbling block has taught from misfortunate relationships to the hardships of cancer.
what would you do? give up. no. not even if you think it will kill you. because in turn it will make you stronger.
i don't need to talk about myself or personal justifications because i know there is someone nearby who's had it far worse.
Some researchers also believe that abnormal levels of certain chemicals in the body can cause bipolar disorder. For example, some studies have shown that people with bipolar disorder have abnormal levels of dopamine in their brains. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter, a chemical that carries messages in the brain.
i checked out symptoms for bipolar and there is a direct link between that and ocd or particular behavior regarding the feeling of having a need to focus on some sort of accomplishment. and if that task is failed, then that can lead to instant sporadic or chaotic behaviors. this is just one case.
but really, who expects our lives to be smooth sailing. usually when we crash from a high point we have to recover from that. to take time and get back to where we were.
And still after reading your comments..i think youre missing the point. first thing. i aint angry at life. I dont know if you ever had bipolar, i dont think so because your comments would be totally different.
I got bi polar bear disorder. No comment...
A BILL IF I works for me. Okay!!! Keep the MACHINE going.

Bi-Polar, *polarity? As in Electromagnetics? Yes. Which is also Frequencies? Yes.
Doesnt TV emit Frequencies? Yes, Radio? yes, Cell phones? yes.
Are they bad for us? Yes. Has it been proven? Yes. Where? Dirty electricity.
Do they know, Yes. Is it a method of control? Yes. The mind is a frequency? Yes. Does tv alter this? Yes.. How? Magnetics.. Polarity is magnetics as much as a frequency of light/sound. Learn about all of this, but, Meditation will Return you to normal, i promise you all.

(We all need that too!) To join just go to depressionhangout-dot-blogspot-dot-com.

most of the times it is inherited...really, I grew up with a mentally ill mother from the 60's ran in her family....
then I married a man that was bipolar, but still no one absolutely no one understood it in the early 70's....then my son was diagnosed...now my granddaughter...hmmm coincidence...I don't think so, this is a chemical inbalance in the brain which doctors have a hard time figuring out....this is a heriditary disease.....it can happen at any age...SNAP!!!

i just wonder how can you diagnose a 3 yr old with bipolar when it can take 3+ years to diagnose an adult im by polar myself and did have symtoms as early as 6 but would have puting me on say litium back then done me any good at all and i would defenitly have phisical damage done to my tyriod and other parts of my body. the wildest kids i knew growing up are not mentaly ill but would easly have been diagnosed with bipolar adhd or depresion

There is a complete lack of awarness in our public system, our children are devided, they are being trained by our "Rules" when these Teachers are degrading our children for their looks and clothes do you think it may have a factor about how people feel about themselves. @greatnothing42 u say trained professionals...psychiatrists don't follow the same approach as doctors do when they diagnose. There is no proof or way of measuring the supposed "chemical imbalance" which is blamed for this "abnormal" behaviour.

I have more respect for prostitutes than psychiatrists.
Behavioral science is pseudoscience because you can’t objectively measure “behavior”. A bunch of quacks meet up in a conference room and vote on what’s an illness or not, and their final collaboration becomes the DSM book.

KoRnphreak88 2 years ago
ive just been diagnosed with bipolar and im 21, almost 22. its kinda hard to believe that kids as young as 3 can be diagnosed with it. i cant still really believe that i am "bipolar" but my counselour believes i am bipolar b/c of all the symptoms i have been explaining to her. so ive ended up getting diagnosed with it. but sometimes i feel that bipolar can be mis diagnosed or under diagnosed. its all rather confusing really
sugarpiexoxo1987 2 years ago
See another doctor and start from square one again and see if the same outcome happens. What do you have to lose. That is only one persons opinion. Knowledge is key, understand what your symptoms are for yourself and read and search. Keep track and understand yourself. Just a suggestion tho.

The reson most disoreders like this are around is so that when a kid gets annoying, the teacher sends them to get tested, when they come back they have "ADD"
Now, he has to take pills that will make him abnormally calm, just 'cause the teacher doesn't wanna deal with him
AsTheSunBurnsOut 2 years ago
That is a possibility. In some case that happens. Then the people that really need help can't get help and a normal kid gets over-medicated.

Putting children on Lithium makes me sick.

forget self induced attention from the illness. use it to improve yourself like no other. wait.....i understand what you might say....how can you? exactly....we cannot muster the drive or ambition to do so, but God can..he can and will change us and our lives to change others...to do more than complain to others about our pain or whether others understand or not. lets look past this.

It's evident in her diet, behaviour, tolerability, and health.

depression is but an opportunity to grow in the eyes of God and be filled. when we feel we need the most, when we are empty and in utter despair, this is breeding grounds for saturation and a chance and opportunity to be filled. prayer, praise, fellowship, close ones, and a healthy environment for all of these to foster. =D

seriously...stop preaching. stop going around to random clips about bipolar and ranting about your god.
if somebody wants to be religious let them find it themselves. we don't need to hear this shit.
start a fucking blog or something

i do have a blog in fact my man, but we are taught to encourage others and do what we can to share good word. if you think you've heard it all, i doubt you've heard that all mind and emotional disorders have spiritual origin, among many other things. cheers. =D

then go ahead and get angry. get angry at me and at life. do you think i lack clinical symptoms? okay, make up your mind. there is no stopping that.
learning to appreciate whatever comes our way and using that as means to learn and grow is nothing too great for anyone of any condition.

Genes are passed down from parents to children.

yeah. thats cool. im not going to worry about trying to convert everyone anymore, plus its pretty much impossible to do such. i probably don't have bp, i don't know. all i can say is that in the past prozac, concerta, etc didn't mix well with me, so perhaps not.
have a good day.

push through it even if it hurts and if roadblocks are seemingly everywhere. this is what every stumbling block has taught from misfortunate relationships to the hardships of cancer.
what would you do? give up. no. not even if you think it will kill you. because in turn it will make you stronger.
i don't need to talk about myself or personal justifications because i know there is someone nearby who's had it far worse.

Some researchers also believe that abnormal levels of certain chemicals in the body can cause bipolar disorder. For example, some studies have shown that people with bipolar disorder have abnormal levels of dopamine in their brains. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter, a chemical that carries messages in the brain.

i checked out symptoms for bipolar and there is a direct link between that and ocd or particular behavior regarding the feeling of having a need to focus on some sort of accomplishment. and if that task is failed, then that can lead to instant sporadic or chaotic behaviors. this is just one case.
but really, who expects our lives to be smooth sailing. usually when we crash from a high point we have to recover from that. to take time and get back to where we were.
evan711heaven 3 years ago
And still after reading your comments..i think youre missing the point. first thing. i aint angry at life. I dont know if you ever had bipolar, i dont think so because your comments would be totally different.
