  • Thank you, Jack Douglas. Hahahaha

  • who is here because of jacksfilms

  • LOL!

  • OMG i can't believe i learned somthin from this vid :O

  • Wait, I've seen the video from which this Carl Sagan quote is taken.

(This is how I know I'm a nerd)

  • @Shivierie

    Haeckel

Go look deeper. Educate yourself for real. Ignore all the attentionseekers with their exotic science.

  • Crumbly, but good.

  • I don't think Morpheus gets it.

  • This was awesome, very well done! Sagan sounds just like Weaving's antagonistic Mr. Smith!!

  • It seriously makes me wonder if Hugo Weaving was going for a Carl Sagan voice when he played Agent Smith? Amazing similarity!

  • stupied

  • This is freakin' hilarious! I will never be able to watch Hugo Weaving without thinking of Carl Sagan ever again. Jack, do a V for Vendetta one

  • @MrGuess28 or a Carl Sagan one doing an Agent Smith

  • lol

  • The Matrix is as easy as pie!

  • Lord Elrond?

  • Carl Sagan went to my high school.

  • This is pretty much what all my school science classes were like...

    CAN'T.LEARN.ANY.MORE.ABOUT.SCIENCE...

'I think you can Mr.Anderson...I think you can!'

  • Oh, yea good strategy, bore them to death =.=

  • stupid fuckin yanks

  • @tanaii1 come on now

  • LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL! XDXD

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! i didnt get it ......

  • i dont get it??

  • This is downright creepy! I wonder if Hugo deliberately tried to talk like Carl Sagan.

  • Thats how my dad reacted when I lent him my cosmos box set!

  • very cool n funny :)

  • this is gold

  • Morpheus's face at the end: MY MIND!!!! AAAAHHH!!!

  • This hands down is now the funniest thing I have seen on youtube lol

  • Hugh Weaving and Carl Sagan...two people who are extremely awesome at what they do/did. Too bad poor Morpheus couldn't enjoy it.

  • I just am so soothed I just want to sit down and crack open a bear.

  • /Nameless Matrix guard walks in the door

    "Thank you very much."

    Lost it at that point.

  • Morpheus is clearly not enjoying carl segans lecture

  • I never realized agent smith's demeanor is so similar to sagan. Nice vid.

  • crumbly but good

  • Fucking brilliant.

  • my physics teacher kept saying he carl sagan sounded like agent smith haha

  • HAHAHHA!

(carl sagan finally snaps and gives a creationist a science lesson)

  • @alex29443 What does this have to do with creationism in the slightest? o.O

  • @Gwarthie it's just the way I see creationists (science deniers) when first 'getting it' in a science lesson - how would you feel if you found out that your familly had been lying to you your entire life.

  • @alex29443 did he mention Haeckel?

not much of a science lesson if he didn't.

  • HAHAHA!!

  • how to get him to surrender the Zion mainframe codes? FUCK HIS MIND INTO OBLIVION!!!!! :)

  • OMG hilarious... thats the way to break him

  • Now I want pie...so crumbly but good.

  • The trick is to look at their eyes. Not lips.

  • oops i pooped a little

  • I just peed my pants...

  • Lol

  • How did this make me laugh so hard? HAHAHAHAHAHAHHA

  • this man is a fucking idiot. matter isn't "nothing" its motion. morons

  • @TheLovesoul1 That's not what he said... Listen next time before you call someone an idiot. Especially someone who is a lot more intelligent than you.

  • @TedTurnersGhost whatever retard.

  • @TheLovesoul1 That's funny. You might not want to call people retarded when you can't even comprehend simple English... Have a good day.

  • @TheLovesoul1 ''matter is composed CHIEFLY of nothing'' CHIEFLY doesn't mean entirely, it means MOSTLY.

  • @aquanaut145 what the hell is NOTHING THEN LOL!!!!!!

  • @TheLovesoul1 "matter isn't "nothing" its motion"

Your comprehension of matter astounds me. Teach me your magical ways, oh wise one. Oh wait, you're completely wrong. My bad

  • @theotherdoomguy whatever!! matter isn't something at all its mearly wave fields compressed and packed together into a "solid" mass your deification of one man is stupid and your appeal to authorietys is an abomination to me!!! bye

  • @TheLovesoul1 What? Before this video, I wasn't even sure who Carl Sagan was. Unless you are talking about Agent Smith, in which case, yes. That man is God, haven't you seen the Matrix?

  • Carl Sagan, one of the few that could turn pie into a lesson on the universe.

  • The ending... was perfect

  • Its actually amazing how much Sagan and agent Smith sound alike.

  • 1:00 "Shooting pieces of Adams... at Adams."

  • BILLIONS AND BILLIONS

  • Oh fuck, i laugh the good laugh

  • Incredible sync

  • Happy birthday, Carl!

  • Someone involved in producing The Matrix was trying to tell us a few things. First, that Carl sagan was an agent. There are also 5 references to 9/11 in the matrix which was created 2 years before 9/11. Can you find them all? I have found five so far and there may be more.

  • @lucus911 Yes, Neo's ID card is shown briefly when Smith talks to him for the first time; and it has the expiration date of 09. 11. 2001. Where are the other references? Maybe when the chopper hits the skyscraper is another one?

  • THIS IS NOT FUNNY

  • Smith is explaining why he can't stand anything remotely human, yet using a dialect and speech pattern so utterly human it fits a monologue about why humanity has so MUCH to live for.

    Interesting times. Trying.

    But interesting.

  • @HotaruZoku - in terms of the film, i always wondered why did they program any agents to be able to smell people etc when clearly they don't enjoy that part of the job...well i say they, it's probably only smith that feels anything at all cause he has that dualistic link to neo in terms of the balance equation that runs the matrix etc etc (2nd movie storyline)..

  • @JustSomePerson888 Likely "enjoyment" wasn't given any thought, which turned out to be one more "glitch".

A machine looking to make a perfect spy simply copies it's targets whole, the trick being that while anyone can copy anything, just copying hardly includes UNDERSTANDING. So the machines built their own eventual demise by creating perfect Agents. Since if they were "human", then perfect agents...

    Would eventually get...-curious-.

  • @HotaruZoku - that part carried over from 'real life' in the 1st place, as the reality type whereby machines are needed by the people, is then just copied by the machines when they took over,

in original clip when smith talks about failed matrixes that were 'perfect' - it isn't stated their exact nature, but it also seems to hint at the actual problem inherent in both matrix & reality, that of presence of consciousness that can't handle perfection. like they're infected to require conflict.

  • @JustSomePerson888 Which I agree with, though I'd love to see it presented in a fashion that isn't the typical "Fallen World Humanity Sucks God made us as a Mistake" BS. My perfect world DOES include conflict, personally, but it's not because I think I or anyone else should suffer. It's because conflict keeps things interesting.

In that regard, with all seriousness, I think those first Matrixes might have honestly /bored/ humanity to death.

Can you imagine 70 years with NOTHING to DO?

  • @HotaruZoku - see, the reason you want or need conflict is because you don't know what life is actually meant to be, or you'd never think that no conflict means nothing to do! there's infinity of wonderful amazing no-dead-orgone-conflict-evil things to do, when the mind-control and the frequency-control of limited thinking dualistic fighting conflict is ceased.

you must be really limited in the mind to not know of pursuits that have no conflict, see what proper society does with folks like you

  • @HotaruZoku - is get you learning martial arts and doing competition fights etc, or other such gameplay, offline or on, to keep your excess mars aspects etc in check.

not that i'm saying being into those arts is wrong, it isn't, i just mean that's how proper societies deal with folks like you that require conflict, so you don't bring it into real life & upset things.

  • @JustSomePerson888 Don't bring conflict into REAL LIFE? *chokes on laughter* Don't UPSET THINGS?

Clearly sir, you live in a far, FAR different place than I've ever been, and while I appreciate your point, and in fact agree with parts, the entire idea of lecturing me because I "Just don't get the way YOU think I should see things" isn't exactly a "non-conflict kind of communication", neh?

    You assume Violence? War?

Is there not conflict in the dance between gravity and a butterfly's wings?

  • @HotaruZoku - yes duh, that is how it is when it's properly managed - it can require managing cause lot of the creations here were originally 'gods' spliced with animals to make slaves, hence why we build things external to us & have civilisations to begin with, we're meant to have our 'real parents' here ensuring it's all done right.

well excuse me for being right that needing conflict means you have a lesser consciousness, surely you must realise that, or you'd think of things beyond duality

  • @JustSomePerson888 Beyond duality....like enjoying something the rest of my species is hell bent on demonizing because I know it's all the same thing, like....Conflict? For that matter, who said "Need"? Was not I.

Excuse you for being right....for everyone else. Check.

Let's go with your perspective. I don't know about you, but my definition of domestic abuse would include "real parents" abandoning their children for several thousand YEARS. That umbilical is starting to...wear.

  • @HotaruZoku - they didn't do that - here is me telling you facts, and here is you ignoring them - because you know they are true. when all i'm really doing is reminding you of what they say all along and haven't ever ceased to ensure is freely available info.

you know your preference for conflict is a failing of your mind being in polarity-consciousness, yet you continue to seek to act like it's otherwise by playing to lies such as claiming i must be wrong because i state facts. moron.

  • @HotaruZoku - 'Can you imagine 70 years with NOTHING to DO?'

ha ha i can imagine an infinity of making love with someone i love, and that's just a bodily heavenly thing, dude you need to do some shamanic drugs and learn what reality is actually about if you think in conflict terms, that's just dualistic polarity-mind rubbish.

  • I always regret taking the blue pill.

  • @NoWitnessesNoRegrets You get a new chance to take one every time you wake up. You'll never be out of different chances to take a red...and you only ever take a red -once-.

  • Oh man this was hilarious.. I can only imagine a similar reaction in lecture rooms around the world.. how unfortunate Morpheus cannot find pleasure in discovering the wonders of our world. ;)

  • hahaha this is so absurd. being forced to listen to a lecture about atoms whilst strapped to a chair and injected with drugs what?

  • Morpheus got bummed at the end.

  • If matter is composed mostly of nothing, what is something? Are we spirits within matter? Are we souls encased in flesh?

Nothing is hard to prove, isn't it? I always wondered why I never heard about American scientists proving the existence of a soul and yet the Russians worked hard on their experiments with astral travel and telepathy.

Meanwhile, Christians prove to themselves that we have a soul when they receive telepathic messages through the Holy Spirit.

    I must believe in Jesus.

  • @field16 Yeah but my telepathic messages from Xenu say that Jesus is a false prophet, and that Mohammed (PBUH) is the one true star-child. This is why I go to a Buddhist synagogue.

  • @bzdenok I am sorry to see that you are spreading misinformation.

  • @field16 Well, what proof do you have that Jesus is the false star-child, as Xenu says?

  • @bzdenok None.

  • @field16 - i think he means matter is composed mostly of nothing as in space - you know, the usual comparison to our usual frame of reference for size is to say it's something like if you scaled an atom up to this size level, then the nucleus would be a football size and the 1st electron shell would be a football pitch size away from the nucleus - ie mostly empty inside, of course it's probably 'dark matter, energy' etc or the aethers as it used to be called, but the analogy still works.

  • @field16 - your spirit is kind of held in your structural molecular atomic lattice (your body i mean) by your heart beating, it's an electromagnetic pulse, and is why it's possible to bring someone back sometimes using electric shock to the heart. also Dan Winter etc is right about the heart being linked to the local sun.

you may also like to know that the cross is about where the heart chakra is, it being the engine of the body, why all the Jesus Sacred Heart things.

  • i think the real message here is in the opening line, this universe is built so that we can enjoy nice things in it, such as apple pie. it isn't meant to have all the rubbish unenjoyable stuff (like cannabis being illegal..) in it, that is put there to keep people unaware that it's been put there on purpose to enslave them.

water into wine is like overcoming the time it takes for water to be absorbed by vines, then grapes made into wine. 'this is my body' etc is talking about the ecosystem.

  • @field16 - it might be the foundation of the ego, 'west' defines the self according to mostly lies basically, that are just to make it easier to strip all relevance from thinking and remove the soul and so forth, also it is likely the case that the Russians perspective of how they were presented to the west during the cold war also served to remind them of what exactly was being lied about to people in general, pushing them to research more openly (plus ha! anyone wanting to win would use psi!)

  • @field16 - plus the oppression of the soul and the natural in Soviet era was more overty about removal of the spirit, whereas in the western experiment / enslavement they have mixed in concepts of what they do as being 'freedom' and linking it to religions (albeit versions that bear no relation to originals etc), so that adds layers of confusions for some people to overcome in realising they also live under totalitarian rule - they were told they don't cause they can choose to vote for whoever.

  • @field16 Keyword is "chiefly". However small, there is something in there. If there weren't, you wouldn't be ranting about your sky cake.

  • 234 creationists have seen this

  • puts a new spin upon Mom's Apple Pie

  • This is genius

  • @BrokenBard

Yes! The Wachowski bros , got Weaving to take aspects of Dr.Sagan's speaking style. Thats why they sound very similar , apparently the bros are fans of The Cosmos serie.

  • 'Oh, thank god, he's stopped talking about atoms. Wait, he's coming back.'

'Now, about the structure of the atom.'

    'DAYUMIT!'

  • there is no nothing, unless you consider antimatter, nothing is space and it is space and molecules that created us.

  • that was extremely brilliant, and yet so very simple. so simplicity if reduced to its lowest form becomes nothing, like us.

  • HAHA 1:39 best part!

  • Lol this is too funny. Carl Sagan almost sounds exactly like Agent Smith (Hugo Weaving)

  • Isn't this how 🏫science class felt to most of you out there?

  • What a unique take on overdubbing a video.Never would of thought of doing this or, anyone doing this.

  • 1:12 - in his ear "crumbly but good" lol

    Morpheus' expressions make this hilarious.

  • I don't think he likes pie or science.

  • I just rewatched Cosmos a few weeks ago and I made this same realization too...haha. Does anyone know if he tried to sound like Sagan for that role?

  • We are mostly nothing.

    What a downer... :(

  • @PG19871230 How? ?:O

  • I'm pretty sure hugo weaving used carl sagans voice for inspiration for this character. what a great actor. one of the best villains from the 90s

  • I'm pretty sure hugo weaving used carl sagans voice for inspiration for this character. what a great actor. one of the best villains from the 90s

  • If anything I think Carl Sagan is Morpheus and Neo combined.

  • He does sound like Smith haha i never thought of his voice like that.

  • compared to carl sagan, matrix is swalow.

  • Hahahahah!! I didn't realize that the audio was replaced until half way through the video xD I was like... okaaay?

  • Ahhh! This is just too freaky!

  • Comment removed

  • This is how the chinese parents train their kids for uni ^-^;;;

  • carl sagan: how many cuts until we get to individual atom?

    me: ITS OVER 9000!!!!!

  • @COLDICEPro That's awesome. :) Wish I was a Sagan.

  • My families last name is Sagan

  • Were you stoned when you thought of doing this? You had to be.

  • Crumbly, but Good.

  • ROFL the opening of the fruity flute music just adds to the cherry on top!

  • hahaha yeah i wondered about that, they sound exactly the same :'D

  • Crumbly.. but good, a typical atom is...^^

  • All set to Vangelis' music

  • Crumbly.. but Good.

  • Congratulations. This is fucking hilarious. But there are still many secrets to discover...

  • The cheerful music in the background and Morpheus's facial expressions make this, lol.

  • hmm this gives me an idea for a horror movie. A guy kidnapps unsuspecting victims, injects them with some kind of hallucinogen and talks total nonsense to them for amusement.

  • excellent

  • hahaha great connection.

  • so perfect.

  • class, well spotted!

  • No I haven't wondered if scientist Carl Sagan and Agent Smith from The Matrix might be the same person somehow,

  • no wonder england pumps out genius after genius...

  • This is quality redubbing. It works so well, nicely demonstrated.

  • @4illegalalien Obviously more electric shock is needed.

  • Genius.

  • this is awesome

  • guichiarini,I think I'm attracted by your wife!and I'm NOT a he...

  • Ignorance is a bliss.

  • Crumbly but good

  • Morpheus looks exactly like my wife when I start talking about cosmology. LOL

  • Morpheus doesn't seem to get it XD OMG I laughed so hard

  • Smith : "matter is composed chiefly of nothing"

    Morpheus : "damn"

  • This is EPIC !

Now we know whose master Agent Smith was : Carl Sagan !

  • Brilliant

  • Amazing. I was just thinking about empty space and matter a minute ago...

  • 1:39 i started laughing out loud. Thats just great =p. I have seen this before but that always gets me. SOOOO serious.. then.. Deep, inside the atom...

  • I was laughing the entire time! This is perfect!

  • Wow, Orpheus was taking that information as if he was deeply religious. Trying not to listen, fighting to not hear it.

    SYMBOLISM!!!

  • this is brilliant !

  • "crumbly, but...good."

    :-)

  • this is illustrative of american school students .... resistant to science. while indians and chinese kids are flourishing in the illumination of science

  • @MetrazolElectricity

What? Im not even american but Im pretty sure america isnt "behind in science".

  • @jasonknight99 Might not be behind in science, but alot of scientific fields are getting focused elsewhere, nonetheless.

  • @jasonknight99 Maybe that's why you don't know that american-born kids are behind in science. Heck, we've got more creationists here than in an other western country. Engg. schools are full of foreigners.

  • @MetrazolElectricity Shit. Man it's worse there than I thought..... I would only be scared for America, but if history tells me anything it's that I should be scared for everyone when something is wrong in America..... ಥ_ಥ

  • @jasonknight99 that's true. thats why its important that we don't default ,,peace.

  • @jasonknight99 I agree, too many of the latest and greatest inventions come out of America for me to accept that they are behind in science.

BUT! The general population of the US is really fucking stupid, it's mind boggling just how many Americans don't know some basic science, history or literature. In a recent poll 26% of Americans apparently didn't know which country they gained independent from.

If they don't fix it soon they WILL fall behind.

  • @Ashitaka255 I disagree. Not with the fact that a frightening amount of Americans are clinically brain-dead, but with us falling behind. We'll fall behind in the classroom as far as general population statistics go. However, it can sometimes only take one person to formulate the idea that spurns the innovation, so the majority of the country has always been independent of the innovators. The population will get dumber and dumber, but the scientists will be just as genius as ever. :)

  • @MrY0ufail Scientist need a certain environment to thrive, as the American population becomes dumber and dumber it'll pose a serious obstacle to innovators and inventors until they don't want to stay there any more.

Take Bush for example, his ban on stem cell research has hindered the subject greatly in America, many scientists set up camp in the UK as a result.

Since the US is a democracy it needs a well educated public more than other forms of government, stupid fucks vote for Bush.... TWICE

  • @Ashitaka255 Fight the spin, if you can.

I don't think those in the US are dumber or smarter than others around the world. Struggles for power, belief, control... all distorts things. These are not foreign in nations other than the US.

Science is indeed slipping in priority, but this is not the way to prove that point... not in my experience.

  • i love how Morpheous just looks sad after he says matter is composed of nothing

  • Misssssssssssssssssster Fishburn...

  • Agent Smith = Carl Sagan. MIND BLOWN.

  • I wanna watching the Matrix now
