  • There are people with the same resistance and similar situations, but their resistance is not broken. GOD therefore shows no partiality when it comes to salvation. Grace after one's salvation is irresistible after forgiveness of sins through Jesus, but holiness until glorification is not 1 Cor. 3:13-16.

  • @patrckhh20 uhm no. John Piper himself declares, "when Children are born into this world, they're DEAD. Women give birth to DEAD babies." Yes, read Rom.9. & read it in the same way All Calvinists do-- ALL men are FATED for Either Heaven or Hell "BEFORE having done ANYTHING either good or Bad in order that Gods PURPOSE OF ELECTION might continue", not by "human will or exertion", to make known the riches of His glory for vessels of mercy, His ELECT.

  • Did Lazarus choose to raise himself from the dead? The Lord chose me and began his work of grace in me long before I had any understanding of what was happening. That is a fact and I am eternally grateful.

  • Consistent Calvinism, unfortunately teaches that people end up in HELL because of Gods SOVEREIGN WILL, due to Adams SIN, instead of their own personal sins-- for God purposely manufactures dead babies in the womb, programmed to sin & only sin lacking ALL ability to repent or beg for mercy, the VAST MAJORITY PREDESTINED for DAMNATION "BEFORE having done anything either good or bad" Rom.9:11 -- Yet some of you believe in Equal Ultimacy because He SOVEREIGNLY decreed it for "His good pleasure"

  • I love the fact that God chose me before I chose Him and that He loved me eternity before I loved Him, despite all my failures and continuous, horrible sinning against Him.

Glory be to His name forever and ever! :)

  • Piper could have just argued his point from this text alone SOLA SCRIPTURIA!

Isa 55:10 "For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater,

Isa 55:11 so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.

  • Pt. 2: The idiom 'reductio ad absurdum' may I apply. The author is probably pointing out the absurdity of such reasoning, employing logic to reach absurd conclusion: Could we, who God foreknew, called, justified... and then were marked and sealed by the Holy Ghost (shared in the Holy Spirit) could any such as these, true believers by faith, get born again, and again. Absurd, right? Pray about it, though. Just don't fear. He who began will finish, right? Amen.

  • The lord really blessed me with this sermon though john pipper I found out the true sovertinty of GOD and his grace. GOD has the ability to change the heart man to work out on our behalf. glory to GOD Alimighty.

  • What about Hebrew 6?

"4 It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, 5 who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age 6 and who have fallen[c] away, to be brought back to repentance. To their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace."

    Thanks, responses would be appreciated.

  • @mananacl Two possibles: The author may refer to people who have some knowledge ('once been enlightened' about Jesus) but did not fully accept the unconditional gift. But what do we do with 'having shared in the Holy Ghost? Pt. 2 up next...

  • @mananacl For thousands of years the "HERBREW" people, that is to say,"ISRAEL ACCORDING TO THE FLESH" you know the "INTENDED AUDIENCE" which this Epistle is directed to, had God's favor, protection, and law, and promise, but did not see it, nor did they hear it, it was the Jews that walked with Christ, got to benefit the greatest from His ministry, and rejected Him, so they continue on waiting for another savior IT WON'T HAPPEN!

  • @mananacl Rom 11:7 What then? Israel failed to obtain what it was seeking. The elect obtained it, but the rest were hardened,

What about that scripture???? I mean if one believes in Election just like Paul does, how then do you view Hebrews six with Romans 9,10,11, John 6,10,17, Matthew 13, Isaiah 53, and all the rest that teach a "Election" by "Grace" And DON'T FORGET EPESIANS 1:3--13!

  • @mananacl Jos 11:20 For it was the LORD's doing to harden their hearts that they should come against Israel in battle, in order that they should be devoted to destruction and should receive no mercy but be destroyed, just as the LORD commanded Moses.

Now how does that verse go with Hebrews six?

  • @NB3K Pro 16:4 The LORD has made everything for its purpose, even the wicked for the day of trouble.

  • This is so true

I can personally agree wiv wot Piper is saying cos I remember wanting to turn my back on christianity and "live my life" by sinning but by the grace of God I was saved by him a few weeks later

I know that if I had my own way and freewill I definately would not have been saved and I would have been in hell because of my resistance

I'm living proof that human freewill (in regards to salvation) does NOT exist and that God uses irresistable grace to adopt his elected chiildren

  • @aoiahiru .....Yes that fuller understanding of GRACE. And great peace have they which love the law and and nothing shall offend them!! :)

  • Sounds like Piper is talking out on both sides of his mouth... If people can resist the Holy Spirit, then people have free will. If God, whenever He pleases, overcome people's will, then God forces... then people don't really have a free will.

In the scriptures, we see God persuading, reasoning, and demonstrating His love, grace, and glory with people to come to Him. He beckons us, and we have the choice to come or not.

God gets the glory always. The Giver gets the glory not the taker.

  • @bitterrenter Amen!

  • "when HE pleases, he overcomes your resistance, he triumphs."Piper is WRONG, God IS SOVEREIGN. God CAN make ANYTHING he wants to HAPPEN. AMEN! However, God CANNOT MAKE YOU LOVE HIM. That's a contradiction in terms. Love is a COMMITMENT, not an emotion, not that conditional human love, "i love you because your beautiful." "so what happens when im not beautiful?" We're talking about the AGAPE love.

  • @apollos6640

,,, so when did you begin to love God, whom you once hated and to hate sin which you once loved?? Did you do that?? Did you cast out your heart of stone and put in its place a living heart of flesh?? I think not!

  • "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I WANTED TO GATHER YOUR CHILDREN together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, BUT YOU WERE NOT WILLING!" (Matt 23)

"As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn, turn from your evil ways; for why will you die...?" (Ez 33)

  • @cornwallsteve Amen!

  • ho yups!

This is why JP is my favorite pastor

    so on it

btw Thanks for posting these vids, it really helps my day

  • About time we had some real preachers on here dealing with the real TRUTH and unconditional election rather than conditional....the fuller understanding of what being saved by GRACE really means. No room for any boasting at all when it comes to our salvation and security. Piper is a fine saint and deliverer of the Word.....

  • I've thought the same thing, but was embarrassed to actually ask :)

  • Choir....

  • That is what I thought, but it seemed too obvious.

  • lol, i asked myself 2...

  • choir probably. just a guess.

  • yeah your probably right

  • When i think of the great doctrine of grace and the awesome wonder of it, im puzzled at where the arminian finds their joy. How can there be joy in a God who is not sovereign, or a salvation that may be lost at any point. The walk of the arminian must be a grim and fearful one.

  • let us pray more each day to our blessed Lord and Savior! this is key each and every day and we are called to develop a relationship with him daily!

  • Soli Deo Gloria!

  • It's irresistible to the elect when they are elected, amen!

  • Amen! All Glory to God!

  • Wow, that's a brilliant view of how it works. The rest of the video should clear up a lot for a lot =)

  • Great video !

  • I saw the light!
