i dont know where people think obama is a bad president he is not the one who got us in serious debt it was bush it is not obama who has us still in their it was bush and we shouldnt even be in iraq because when we took out sadam huessain we took out their goverment and guess who wanted to do that bush and we shouldnt of even invaded iraq because even though the republicans thought they had wmd's which they didnt have and ties to al queda which they didnt have! GO OBAMA!
Bob woodward still praise bush in his second book of bush.CLINTON is the only president in modern time to bring down the debt of american and woodward think he made choose too slow. Only john dean know that bush is lower than nixon even before 9/11.
Bush has kept the role of government to a minimum? Is that some kind of bad joke? The budget has ballooned under Bush. He created a new and unnecessary cabinet department. Maybe compared to Obama. Time will tell.
I hope you are right, Chiffon56, but I fear the eight years of nightmare is just the beginning. FDR dragged out the Great Depression by more than a decade, and Obama wants to go down the same route. If Obama is right, everything that I think I know about economics is wrong. We'll see how it goes.
First off, what you know of FDRs New Deal is untrue, a few authors from radical libertarian circles have made this argument. But it is not accepted by anyone credible nor economists/historians who studied while it was happening.
It is a rewrite of history for people wit han agenda. SO yeah, you need to rethink everything you know if you are using bad sources.
JiveDadSon; Please amplify, how on earth would you believe FDR prolonged the depression, in light of the successes coming years before the much of the rest of the world, all using a wide variety of methods based on differing economic theories.
I suspect your reading of history and economics is in need of wider breadth.
Km6xz requests, "Please amplify, how on earth would you believe FDR prolonged the depression..." I will ignore the "on earth" part. "... in light of the successes coming years before the much of the rest of the world, all using a wide variety of methods based on differing economic theories." I can't make any sense out of that part. To me it's Palin-esque.
Whole essays can be (and have been) written on the subject. Go to mises (dot) org. Also google, "FDR's policies prolonged Depression by 7"
Palin-esque? Fitting coming from one who derives his world view from a fringe libertarian institute which ignores a well researched body of record and data that says just the opposite.
The reason libertarian theorists are given such limited attention by the more serious academics is that there is no body of evidence, real data, for libertarian economies due in no small part that there are no libertarian societies and haven't been since famly groups formed larger bands in pre-history.
good god, Bush doesn't like homework...what are we grade school? The man was leading the most powerful country in the world and failed to investigate his decisions before it screwed millions of Americans and others around the world.
David Gregory is such an apologist for all things status quo.

Chris Matthews is always shouting. The dude needs to tone his voice down, it's annoying as hell.

What a MORONIC question to pose, let alone discuss!
How about:
Let's discuss and compare a lump of dog shit and a angel food cake,
Tweety sez:
'Bush has preferred to limit the size of government' !!!?!!?
wow.

You're just seeing what happens when people actually have a genuine level of respect for a president. That's vanished over the past 8 years.

Oh, o.k.
Thanks for explaining that.

I guess what they were trying to say is that Bush kept the expectations Americans had toward their goverment at a minimum.

Thank God, our long national nightmare will end on January 20th, 2009, when we send the village idiot back to Crawford.
