  • Verry nice old working truck not just a show quean got to love it.

  • Amazing!!!

  • How many miles on that thing ?! Original Engine ?

  • @bubbakindroad i think i heard him say that it had 1 million 400 thousand ,on it ,and had been overhaulied in 1995

  • Love it.

  • CHERRY!!!

  • whats it got for power train 335 cummins and a 15?

  • Classic.

  • Theres nothing like the older trucks!..as a kid i use to go around and take pictures of them and in 1976 my friend bought the kenworth bicentenial edition VIT200 , conventional, There were only 42 of them made while the cabover had 200 made for the celebration of the bicentenial , The truck had a 286 inch wheelbase along with a 3406 catepillar engine , it was the introduction of the first aerodyne double bunks with top windows ! don,t find no history on them anymore which is strange! .

  • omg the driver looks old as dirt props to him for keepin that thing in workin (and damn good lookin) for this long :-)

  • Love that sound

  • wow, perfect unmolested vintage working truck. The owner seems like a really nice guy, you can tell by the look of that truck that i bet he does or did all of his own wrench turning! thanks for posting it!

  • Sheer functional beauty

  • es una joya, pura lata

  • nice rig, its great 2 c that its still working

  • Thanks for the memories. I miss my '74 needle nose.

  • nice video. i like the needle nose those look bad ass on the roads. this one look old school too, wow.

  • is this a 281?

  • How much does it cost to insure an older semi for everyday commercial use?

  • Your neighbor has more style than most people of today can even dream of. Thanks for sharing!

  • souns like a cat 1693

  • Do you think it's possible to interview "Butch" in his truck to tell how he went about getting it and some stories? That'd be really interesting.

  • wish you can smell that diesel smoke ... (cough) (cough)

  • big beast!! i love it. could be nice to live in 50-60s..

  • now there is someone who loves their rig ALOT!!! just look at it. almost like new :)

  • 8 idiots dislike this video? WTF! That's one sweet truck and tip my hat to it.

  • Wish you can smell that smell (cough, cough in the background) LOL

  • @Dulein I know, that was the same thing my wife said after seeing the video. but the truth was. my son was just getting over a very nasty cold.

  • OH MY GOD !! DUDE I figured it would look good but when it pulled out the shed !! Never seen a finer sight !!

  • i don't know alot about US trucks but that is one heck of a truck. does he have a whole house in the cab? it is an true american bigrig real nice condition to be an everyday work horse. very clean and tidy.

  • Comment removed

  • ya i seen him going thru reedsburg a couple times when i was going into foremost farms with a load of milk.dont they have trucks that are from up around ridgeway wis,

  • thats the same paint job as snowmans kenworth w900a

  • It's good to see that someone has looked after a classic, bloody nice truck.

You don't see anything like that over here in New Zealand.

  • I'd pretty much give my left nut for that Pete. OK, mabey not, but something of equal value.

  • A guy in my town has one thats a dump truck I wish I could buy it off him. The only thing wrong with them is the radiator is too small can't handle the heat in the summer as well

  • @wannalayya Maybe a Radiator Age (corrosion) or Material (not aluminum) Problem.. the Modern T-600 Kenworth has a similar sized radiator and can handle a 600hp 3406 Caterpillar.

  • it can get as much as up to 110 F here in cali but I read this from an old trucker who retired and wrote a book about the class 8 trucks. I think there cool

  • @wannalayya I hear you.. The Needle Nose Peterbilts are the prettiest trucks ever built.. I'd love to see that Bodystyle revived in some fashion.. the radiator technology is there to do it. I'm an old trucker myself.. with 1.4 million miles of service... I've seen temperatures in El Centro and Baker California of 115 deg- even newer trucks struggle somewhat at those temps to keep water temps under 220.. it's a trip "slower" not stopper, you ease up on the throttle and keep going.

  • that looks like the truck off of smoky and the bandit...

  • i think not... the truck off smokey and the bandit was an A Model KW

  • now thats a real truck

  • now that is a real truck go buy a new one today and see what it looks like in 40 years

  • Is this truck kept in Wi? I'm almost positive i've seen it on the interstate by Wi Dells. It was pulling a tank trailer. I think i've seen it in Reedsburg Wi, also. If not there is one just like it running around that area.

  • Yep thats the one. he lives in Wisconsin rapids and hauls milk .

  • @DIESELFUMESS did u ever tell him to put on a pair of straight pipes?

  • @TheLargecars Nope and I never will. The Truck is one of a kind, because he kept it the way he wants it. Heck The pictures of his kids that he has in the cab are even from the 70's...

  • @DIESELFUMESS hay did he ever go to truck shows with it i bet he could win!

  • i thought those needle nose Peterbilts had a single horn right in the middle of the roof

  • Great looking truck ! ! !

  • haha it look big untill the man walks past it!

  • trucks like this are the backbone of American Tucking

  • Cool truck and I like the old guy!

  • now this is a classic!

  • NICE TRUCK!!!

  • OLD stile RULZZZZ wery beautifull truck i love him

  • Now that truck has STYLE!

  • I love american trucks so much ...the best trucks of the world...and the nicest...CBS ;)

  • nice old pete

  • Nice truck! Whats under the hood? It's amazing to me that this old truck is still earning a living do you know what kind of mpg a rig like this gets?

  • 3-8 depending on how heavy a load you're pulling or if you're bob-tailing

  • sounds like a good ol cummins

  • 496velle...i agree wit you 100%!

  • Gotta love those ole skool "truck" steering wheels. Now they got the cock pit controls looking like a mini van or something. The day they all go automatic is the day I quit driving.

  • Beautiful Pete man! Thats a helluva guy you got for a neighbor! A true truck driver with an appreciation for a fine machine.

  • NEW TRUCKS SUCKS

  • Pure sweetness, I like peterbilt but they jus can't build a truck like they use too. Ol Skool all the way

  • Kenworth indeed in smokey and the bandit

  • nice ole needlenose

  • Man I love this truck just look at the quality The original Stewart Warner gauges are like the day they left the factory not like the plastic crap you get to day. Thank you for posting an absoulute credit to you.

  • Thanks man but the true credit goes to the owner "Butch" a true pro Driver and a great guy

  • @DIESELFUMESS That's a beautiful truck. I had two older KWs an 84 and an 85 and to see the doors close on the old girl nice and tight after 40 plus years is a testament to how tough and overbuilt rigs used to be. You didn't throw trucks away like now, you just kept rebuilding and painting until you got tired of the truck.

  • reminds me of Smokey and the bandit

  • i think that one was a kennworth

  • It was, truck just looks very familiar

  • sweet

  • Looks like its in not bad shape for a work truck

  • Peterbilt the Best Truck in Worlds!!! :-)

  • nice...

  • looks like a 78 359 ....do I get a cookie ??

  • nope..it says 71 in the discription

  • '71 358

  • thats way old but way nice

  • The REAL DEAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • too cool for new school

  • Yea GOOOOOO BUTCH!!!

  • The 1.2 million was after the rebuild. He does almost all the repairs himself, still, unless it's something really major. He's been driving trucks of some sort since he was 15 years old. He's one of the lucky people in this world who has worked at a job he loves his entire life. I'm very proud of him!

  • I've heard of this old cat and this truck before....pulls a milk tanker, doesn't he?

  • 351!!! This junk on the road today is depressing. I have a 359st '72 model thats spec'ed similar to this. Mine; 350 sc; 4x4 not married;4:88 QHXR's on Hend extended leaf;780,000 miles. Truck is in very unmolested condition. Intresting that his has KW sleeper like mine. Don't think Pete made many bunks back then so this is a period correct addition. I run mine quite a bit also. 5 stars Mr.

  • got any pictures of your ride? great to hear that you run yours too. Because they where made for the road.... 5 stars back at you..

  • Not as of now. I'll see what I can do. Also have a '50 350;220 cummins;5x3;6:17 worm drives. Both trucks still running 10.00-22's

  • What's under the hood?

  • Nice old horse, they don't make 'em like they usta....just wait & see how many of the Tupperware trucks of today are still on the road when they're 38 yrs. old...

  • Hey,dupesofhazzard, you say the paint job would look good on a certain year Kenworth, but don't know what a needlenose is?You should have been listening to the man talking about the 335 and 250 Cummins engines. DIESELFUMES,you are lucky to have that man as a neighbor. He was driving a truck when men were men,and woman were damn glad! Not only were the hoods narrower, the roof was lower.Sweet.Next time you see him, shake his hand for me,I bet he has 0 to nil Accident record too.Great Video.

  • That's a long time to run the same truck, for sure...

    Definitely a piece of history.

  • sorry forgot to mention that needle nose or narrow nose as some will call it. referees to the size of the front end compared to the other models.

  • To each is own. the paint job is factory select and defiantly belongs on the truck... But like I said to each is own.

  • cool truck but scrap the paintjob it only looks good on 1974-1977 Kenworth W900As.

  • how many miles on it?

  • damn nice truck

  • I wanna here the jake.....

  • why don't peterbuilt the needle nose.the c15 would fit just nice.with a lowered stand up sleeper.

  • yeah, peterbilt should offer a needle nose again. and we need a cabover too! bring back the 352!

  • now thats my kind of rig

  • I can tell you, if he did sell it. I would be the one to buy it. Even if I have to sell both legs and arms plus the kids to do it. But since he has a son who drives and a Grandson who will drive some day, I don't think its going any where...

  • nice truck. what does needlenose mean anyway?

  • SOoooooo ...does he wanna sell it?

  • Thats a nice Pete with that cooool 1971 custom paint job....5 stars

  • nice truck

  • I mean pete,,, not KW..

  • love them needle nose KW's...thanks for sharing

  • 1.2 million miles I wonder if that was before the rebuild in '95 or after?

  • How many miles???

  • peterbilt = backbone of america

  • great looking ol pete

  • What kind of engine does she have? Big Cam Cummins or Cat 3406?

  • Its a Big Cam Cummins

  • dude i smell that smell every day

  • looks like it hauls a can, noticed one in the background

  • single-stack too.What R we haulin.

  • That's one tough Peter!

  • lets see that rig in action!!!

  • Looks a little bit like the one in Smokey And The Bandit:D

  • Not quite. This is a Peterbilt -- Smokey and the Bandit used a Kenworth W900A.

Not too far off though :)

  • Smokey and the bandit one was a pete the sencond and third they had kwoppers

  • in second smokey and the bandit was gmc not kenworth

  • one million two hundred thousand. wow

  • BADASS!!
