  • @maryemackey hi mary!  Yeah. that's how I started to learn this song. Amsterdam to Spain. In fact it was somewhere in Spain that Bob got the idea for it when he attended an international gathering of Gypsys a while back. Their music has contributed so much to Western culture, especially in places like Russia, but it is said that even the popular English ballad, "Greensleeves", may have had Spanish & even Gypsy music behind it. Same with "1More Cup..." about a mountain Gypsy fortune teller.

I remember first hearing this on a BD album my friend had on cassette back in the day (1980) and we listened to it on the Way to Spain driving over the Pyrenees mountains, where I wrote the second part of my song "Run City Man" (see paulhallart00). And then it got left on the dashboard of our second hand Mercedes panel van we got from Holland and the speaker just under a grill partially erased the tape. But I finally learned it in Ketchikan Alaska in '09.
