@ larrybmx: squires can be great i own an OLD jap squire, set up w/ 8s, it SHREDS like NO us strat. it has the old small headstock and sounds like a $1000+ rig. My fav is my American standard (a gift in 98 from mom) untouched but my Fender mexi "same era 1988 w/ mods. take a $100 squire w/ P/u upgrades U sound better than a $1500 usa model. stress setup and pickups. + if yr not big on the whammy bar take a spring out of the back, let the trem set on the body the sound is way better.

mate....gilmour's black strat has also 21 fret, and he invented whole solo on that guitar....so... try to come up with something....like bending little bit higher the string....

It's not just about leaning the EXACT solo,it's about leaning to play guitar.If you dont like this video its probably because you are too good for that kind of lessons!!!I play guitar for 6 years and I'v learned a lot with those vids.Thx a lot to take so much time to teach people to play that beautiful instrument!!!

thank you soooo much!!! im so happy i learned this solo! its a shame i cannot play all of it because i have a electro-acustic guitar that doesnt have 21 frets of the high E string :( i have 2 questions... 1: how do u make that high sound at the 7th fret of the G string after the D chord? theres also something like that in the 2nd time that he plays the 7th fret of the G and B strings together and i dont know how to do it... 2: how can i end the solo? because in the record the sound quiets slowly

@foortiz619 He plays it wrong in a few places. If you want the correct tab you have to download the album E-book for The Wall, it is tabbed perfectly in there by proffesionals

The part at 3:26 is actually not a bend but most likely a slide from 19 to 21 on the high e because gilmour uses 21 fret guitars so he wouldnt have been able to do that bend

what transcribe program do you recommend justin?

I know I'm not Justin, but he uses Transcribe by 7th String. You can also use Audacity to reduce speed and retain pitch. Hope that helps.

he likes the program called "transcribe" by seventh string sofware, I have this program and I highly recommend it!!

I have ears, I recommend them highly.

BTW Audacity is free, Transcribe isn't, but it is a great piece of software and I highly recommend you buy it. It won't do the the job for you but it's a great aid for your ears and you can beat map, slow the tempo and cut out voices.
