    I'm Taiwanese but I can't help but feel disappointed at the level of Taiwan dancers.

  • me too. but don't be too harsh i think it's the environment-- majority of ppl still believe in academics so this culture this relatively new. just give them some time :)

  • Yeah..I'm not really judging coz asian societies are like that. Also, the dancers were probably mostly casual dancers compared to the majority professional dance that take the class in the US. Just stating the obvious = ). GO TAIWAN.

  • you'd be surprised- dancing is actually huge right now. breaking is definitely bigger, but new-style hip hop is pretty popular as well. classes / teachers there are just different, though... they mostly focus on musicality instead of hitting hard or being fierce so only two or three eight counts get taught per class to emphasize practice. I can tell you without a doubt most of these people haven't learned more than five 8 counts in a class before.
