Oh the Comments in here. LOL. I make Electric Bikes and 25 000 is insane! I makes stuff that peaks at 4000-6000watts and this 1.3kw is laughable. I build it for 1000$ as well if its local. And I get speeds of 60K no problem and distance up to 30kms in best conditions. So I see a lot of crap on here, but it's still electric :)
I do not support or disagree with the design presented. I disagree with your statements that designing for wealthy people is inherently bad. Or that poor people are inherently smarter and know the value of money. Or that rich people buy less quality without thinking or doing research.
BTW, you do not know whether I am a "bean counter" or graduated with a product design degree from Germany. You can only guess at it seems you don't guess well. :)
@PolluteLessDotCom - also judging from the fact you didn't do your research on the numbers, not only are you not a (good) designer or have a eye for design. I take it back a person who feels strongly about misinformation, could never be a bean counter. Nor do you seem to have the sense to take info, research and if your wrong accept it and become a smarter person. Again sorry if I'm seem harsh, but I tell it as it is
... Just know I'm a designer first and a business man next... a damn good one at that. Tell me what most of the comments echo and how many dislikes are? Now if this was my company I would get people on this page to like it, so what we can be sure of is the populess also believes this to be ugly and overpriced. And expressed in your statements, rich "morons" buy shit without thinking or research. Don't forget poor people who become rich TEND to know the WORTH of money, even some who r born rich.
The point about these bikes is that they are, within reason, affordable. Who are you aiming this at rich people?...... You do know the bike is one of the vehicles of the people and you people have totally shat/ taken a dump on that concept? 7000- 25,555 EUROs? Are you smoking crack cocaine, luxury bike my arse!!!!
What's wrong with aiming a product to be sold to rich people? Businesses that sell to people who are wealthy are doing well these days (and may employ a few regular folks in the process). Who says that any product of desire (not need!) has to be affordable? You don't have to buy it, you know. And it will not increase the price of a more simple electric bike for the rest of us either. Possibly quite the opposite.
@PolluteLessDotCom - Well you've taken the true mean of the bike and trashed it for money, well done one more thing that lets us know people of this world don't think twice and your business acumen is shit as you don't know how cater to the general public, like VW have the £5000 and the £80,000 phaeton, they like many of the BEST car companies..... Toyota to name another one, Know how to cater for a wide price range for a new car. note; VW fox is cheaper than that ugly, cumbersome piece of trash
1) Bicycle: Single track, two wheeled, human-powered, pedaled vehicle. I trashed its true meaning for money with my comment?
2) A business MAY fail if it doesn't cater to the masses. That does not mean it is A) certain, B) required. And right now, if you don't sell your non-essential item to the rich you probably won't have the cash to expand your business to sell less expensively. There is very little profit to be made with regular folks. Just call this bike the Ferrari of e-bikes.
@PolluteLessDotCom - BTW, If a poorer person became rich, do you think they would go for this product after being treated like they don't even exist.... "Fuck the lower end of the market, I wanna be rich and hang around with rich wanker", this company does not seem to be run by forward think biking enthusiast.
You seem to be making the assumption that people or companies that sell to wealthy people become rich easily or need to invest less of their own money to fabricate their product. Wealthy people expect better quality for their money. If the product succeeds in the marked (which remains to be seen) it will be desired by those with money and those without. As if expensive cars are not desired by poor people! They are desired because they are high quality and unaffordable for most.
@PolluteLessDotCom - Of course I know this, but with the way the economy is and many other electric hybrid bikes out there, why would anyone with sense buy this? For one thing as much as I love bikes, a car is actually worth the money, secondly most cars have great designers or focus groups on design. Clearly your a bean counter, with no eye for design, so please don't compare trash a with Ferrari. With the amount of stuff wrong with your statements, we'll be here all day........
So, a Bugatti is worth more than a million dollars in your opinion? Or a Ferrari is worth over half a million? You've got to be kidding! You complain about an electric bike that costs maybe 12 times more than a regular priced e-bike and you see nothing wrong with cars that cost $700,000 or more? How is that logical?
We will see if people will buy this. If they don't they did not find the right recipe for success. I just don't see why someone shouldn't try to create a luxury e-bike.
@PolluteLessDotCom - thanks, you've shown me your nothing more than an augmentative moron by shooting yourself in the foot. A Bugatti Veryon cost £5,000,000 to produce you Muppet. VW own them, as I've already stated and will reiterate again, they get their money back thru lower sales of let say £5000 VW FOXES. Lots of companies do this Ferrari even Gucci. No offence but I hate it when people are gassed up on fumes, anyways I hear what your saying as much as we hate to hear.. Sorry But your wrong
Now you are saying that several exotic sports cars should be priced even higher than they are sold for and are still "actually worth the money" (your words) ????? I think we are stuck.
Well, at least I did not resort to name calling. I cannot follow your logic and doubt that many can. I also struggle with your unconventional use of the English language for that matter (- sorry!). But that is OK. We disagree. That is really all. You may have the last word if you would like.
