Terrific horn work from all three horns! Mannie Klein's plunger work is outstanding, and so is Tommy Dorsey's! Benny Goodman sounds great as would be expected.
Man - I'm going to have to seek this record out. Everyone's in exceptional form on this session and, when done right like this, St. James Infirmary cuts right to the bone - in a good way.
Another note - sure, he may sound like he's playing "simple" to a casual listener, but I personally have never heard Stan King play any better than on both sides of this record. Rock solid time, well placed fills and tons of feeling while keeping great spirit.
