watching these video, make me want to go back home(Laos). life is much easier there but i know is very different now but the idea of living there is more peaceful
My dad went straight to work for $4/hr after 2 weeks upon arrival to support our family. I'd start balling in a sea of tears if I say/dwell more into it. Today's Hmong really have no clue. :(
you can purchase the documentary online, it is worth it to keep for your future children to see and be reminded where their ancestors come from, though the documentary was years ago, some of the stereotypes and stigmas are still very alive
It must be a hard life for the first wave of our people in America. It sadden me that many of our younger generation forgot the hardship our mother and father struggled to survive in the new world.
@niamtxiv It's the hardest.. I can still remember being in 2nd grade and translating for my parents.. everywhere.. I hate those memories but sometimes I think that that is why it made me who I am today..
this is sad...we have suffer many years....

Why didn't they settle the Hmong somewhere warm and agricultural like New Mexico, Texas, or Florida? I wonder if any of them ever moved down South.
