Does it occur to you that if greyhound racing was suddenly banned that thousands of these wonderful animals would have to be dispatched for no reason.

@oldmusher They love their dogs and race them?Look up some dog and see how any times they have been raced and then tell me if they truly love them!Some of them are races Hundreds of times before they are run to death i have rescued 2 greyhounds in my life with my last one had to be put down she was raced to death after having her for 7yrs and her running Non-stop for 4yrs straight.I know ive been in the tracks ive seen how they treat them throw 10 in a room and throw a single bowl of food in.

@poodin11 your wrong there i run a kennels and they are treated my kings and queens they have a full breakfast and dinner only 2 in a kennels and cleaned every Saturday and walk every day and if the dog is hurt we fix them up unless its something that they cant have fixed if that happends we send it homing kennels wheres its looked after till it finds a home i love theses dogs more than anything ever more than my girlfriend and i love her a hell of a alot so dont go and bad mouth us

@hillman122 Unfortunately, they aren't all like that. The greyhound we rescued was from a kennel where they kept all their retired dogs in cages they couldn't even stand in. The cages had wire bottoms. His feet were so ruined that he had to wear shoes whenever we took him outside. He also had sores on most of his joints. His thighs had no hair from being rubbed off in the crate. All the greys rescued from that kennel were in the same condition. And those were the winners.

@MrRedo123123 I have a whippet, he's never been raced due to a leg injury when he was 8 months old (he's almost 9 years old now) and he LOVES to run, if we go to the park and i let him loose he just runs around in giant circles like an idiot haha, he has no hunting instinct but definitely has the run in him! (i opened my door to a rabbit one day and he ran back inside.....my corgix chased it lol)

They live in their own room of the house and are treated as part of the family, regularly fed and taken for walks, just like a normal dog would be. Yes, some owners do treat their dogs badly, but that's their fault.
