  • my max is 2.78ghz

  • and i have arctic cooling 7

  • im doing the same thing you do but my pc just keeps restart plzzzzzzzz help

  • @candycandy57 Try clearing your cmos as that will reset everything and then try it.

  • what motherboard do you have?

  • what cooler would I need to overclock to 3.0 GHz

  • Does it to 3.0 or 2.8 without voltage tweak?

  • damn i really don't dare to overclock my cpu...btw we have the same cpu ..hha

  • i need help doing it with a p5q deluxe , i have the same cpu

  • I've gone to 2.9Ghz maximum. I've got a 550W PSU and a CM Hyper 212 Plus cooler. I tried with higher voltages but it just won't boot at that kinda clock speeds. I reduced the ram multiplier to 1.6 so it's less than the default setting.

  • @justhes what kind of motherboard you have?

  • is your computer louder after the overlocking?

  • Now that i have added Arctic cooling mx-2 my idle temps are around 50 Degrees !....

should i get a new case? maby heatsink?

  • what bios is this?? is this an intel or...?! o.0

  • it take me to a whole different bios where i cant change anything

  • it take me to a whole different bios

  • Maybe i'll overclock once I reformat my system :) it only runs at 2.3ghz stock, wow, 3.3 :D

  • 3.30 run gta 4 smooth?

  • PcWizard says that my Q8200 multiplier is Locked... Is there a chance it's wrong or do I have to do it myself somehow?

  • Hello,

wow, nice tut. My Q8200 is on 3.30 GHz with 1.17V Vcore.

  • Could u tell me ur specs. thanks

  • Do you think one could over-clock the Q8200 to 3.50-4.00 Ghz? I couldn't over-clock mine to 3.0 because of the power supply... I THINK. If I upgrade from a 500W to a 1000W, will I be able to over-clock the CPU to 3.0-4.0Ghz?

  • @roxxas5

    mine now running 3.5Ghz

max i can get 3.99Ghz but the temp going crazy

    sweet stable..

  • I overclocked mine to 3.14.I overclocked it to 3.34GHz,but i hated that the CPU fan had to spin at 1400RPM+.Now it spins at 950RPM,which isnt that loud.

  • jushtes i know this video is old but try intel burn test it really gets your temps high, but make shure to moniter them.

  • Im gona try this, I hope this works..

  • thx mate

  • when i change pci host freq. to 100. it wont boot.... i overclockd mine to 2,75ghz fsb 1550

  • Try overclocking it with a an increase of 10 or 5 for everytime.

You are not supposed to run that chip on 3.30 ghz, to much, go with 3.00.

  • it's got plenty of ventilation, its got three fans pulling air away from it and its running on the stock cooling fan. Get's 30 degrees celcius on idle and 61 degrees c on load

  • @justhes hi justhes I have too q8200 I run in on ep45c-ds3 mother board with 4 giga ddr3 ram 1333mhz i overclock reguraly to 3.00 but i dont know if i put dram frequancy and the right it show me (1333 1435..) (333 3.40b(third)) my timings on auto because i dont know too what change and my voltages also on auto.

can you help me how to what i need to change!!!

  • I have the same processor as you, with an ASUS P5Q Pro Turbo Mobo. I overclocked mine at 2.52Ghz. But, is it really safe putting it at 3.3ghz? Does it ever get really hot? Do you have any external cooling? (From the video it looks like it doesn't get much ventilation, lol) Though I did not tweak the voltages themselves, instead I just changed the FSB to overclock the CPU.

  • @chiefgeargrinder the most accurate is the one in the bios it shows your real temp at idle. take that temp and go into windows and adjust realtemp or whatever to show thats the temp at idle and the load temps will then be accurate. how come that cant be his temps at idle? i have mine overclocked a little bit to 2.9ghz and i dropped the voltage a little. its 40c at idle.

  • You need to bring your RAM frequency down to at or below 800. It's at 920 or 940. You also need to make sure your RAM timings are at their rated speed to go higher. Alls the best....

  • I can't bring it down to 800 for some reason. If I could, I would.

  • @justhes

Because your CPU's FSB is 472, making memory 944, as they double the FSB of the CPU.

  • @nate42nd

you can not do that. lowest you can do is 1:1 ratio. and with low 7x multi on this chip you will always have to run high fsb. please at least do some research. pathetic.

  • is the multiplyer unlocked on this if so iam not gonna switch to amd

  • it's unlocked

  • @mmike422

    Not really it's min. 6 and max. 7 so:P

  • wich bios version have you?

  • At the time of the video I had f.9, now I have f.10

  • even the bios and other temp tools have shown the same cpu temp.

  • @justhes hey dude when i go to bios i only have the basic shit like advanced settings and shit like that but their is nothing like urs how do u unlock it to make it look like ur bios

  • what voltage are u using?

  • 1.300

  • wait a min you achive that 3,30ghz with stock intel cooling system?!!!! with your setting is it a gigabyte ep45 ud3(series)? I have a Q8200 to, arctic freezer 7 pro rev2.0 and gigabyte ep45 ud3l and I want to achieve that setting like you did with similar degres

  • I'm using a ud3p board.

  • which program you used to see the temperature and why when you check down it show 40degres on the processor and up is show 20?

  • I used CPUID HWMonitor. IDK

  • the SPD Multiplier thing is How much Ram you have on your PC correct so I have 4.50 GB Ram So Im assuming you put that?

  • on stock cooler?

  • Yeah, 25 degrees C idle, 55 degrees C load.

  • @justhes

lol i get 50 degrees @ overclocking to 2.4 xD

  • What motherboard are you using?

  • @justhes

    Gigabyte GA-EG31MF S2

  • dual pcb or single? I'm using a Gigabyte ud3p dual pcb board.

  • @justhes

    sry, i dunno whats a pcb :X

  • PCB is just the board itself, thats the actual term for the board.

  • i got my q8200 to 3.5Ghz OwO

  • how many inches are you're screen =) ?

  • 20"

  • did u git a butter cooler as wall?

  • Nope, still using the Intel cooler, as it cools my cpu just fine, @ 3.30 ghz the idle temp is 20 Celcius and load temp is 55 Celcius.

  • thats weird, on my q8200 the idle temp is is around 42 and the load temp is 58

  • maybe his room temp is colder?

  • Thanks for this, really appreciate it.

  • Your welcome.
