Nose to the blackboard...in this day and age? I'm not saying it was wrong....just surprised to see such childish punishments still used....especially on teens as old as this. If it persuaded them to "straighten up & fly right" then I see nothing wrong with such chastisement. Teens usually don't like to be seen in such humiliating & childish positions...so I would assume these teens thought twice before misbehaving again. At least I hope so.

I agree with you that kids really have no respect for teachers. Kids also have no respect to a lot of the adults today whether they are teachers or not. I see kids today misbehave, and they get away with it. My opinion is that parents do not discipline their kids today.
this is so true. i don't understand it really. i was never spanked or hit as a child by parent or teacher and yet i had the utmost respect for them. i never thought of swearing at a parent or a teacher...ever! i even notice my child not listening and having a will like nothing i had. i know she respects us and her teachers though. she listens. i think bad kids are like that from the beginning in many cases. i think in school kids still look up to teachers until about grade four.
yes the government has taken control away from teachers who have to deal with little shits. only the ones who want an education and are half respectable. the others have no respect.
I'm assuming the teacher wanted to give them a childish, embarrassing & humiliating punishment to make sure they'd "learn their lesson". Though there is no info in the clip as to what their offense was. Maybe they were caught drinking. I know a popular drink back then was mixing voda with milk of magnesia. It's called a "Phillips Screwdriver".
