Well, I love the dinobots, but am irritated at why people are in an uproar as to their, erm, limited intelligence. It's the fact that they adopted dinosaur forms and as such, wel, Dinosaurs didn't eally have that impressive of a brain structure. All that aside, they were the reason why I love dinosaurs today...I forgot the terasaur's name (it's not a teradactyl, they have long tails), but he's my favorite, I have a thing for the flyers ^_^.

Heh, I'd believe that one...but I read on Wikipedia that Swoop is actually the most intelligent of the Dinobots (he's like the tactics guy or whatever). Grimlock, on the other hand, has enough brains to gert the job done AND he can eat the enemy...Still like Swoop beter though, without flyers in the series, it'd be SO boring :-D.

Grimlock and Soundwave are two of my favourite transformers. Too bad they made Grimlock and other dinobots simpletons in cartoons, they were much better treated in comics.

It's from the season 1 finale titled, "Heavy Metal War". The Constructicons made their first appearence in that episode and they were trying to invade the Autobots home base to destroy Teletran 1 while the rest of the Autobots were away watching a 1 on 1 fight between Optimus and Megatron. The Dinobots made them think twice about it though. As Sludge and Snarl said,

"Sludge not see these Decepticon's before."

"Not See again either! Because we dynomite them to pieces!" -Snarl

Basically, Grimlock and his team are like a SWAT team. Equipped with incredibly powerful armor and weapons, the Dinobots can be deployed in situations too dangerous for other Autobots.
