I was a Marine in and my 1st husband was a Marine Master Guns. My Newly disabled Army INTEL/Recon husband will tell you straight up, the Marines are MUCH more tough on the recruits. As can I. Although my Army husband preferred to train with the Marines and enjoyed their PT more because it was Challenging. Btw...PT is what U make it to be! All in all We ALL should Respect one another no matter what Branch we may be! Semper Fi!
@TheBlackcat983 The DI's yelling at the recruit is typical. It's a mind game & they do it to break u down, then build you up. Sounds terrible, I know, but it's necessary. I 4got to say almost exactly what the recruit with the 3 DI's jumping on him said. I almost cried, screamed etc, but I knew I couldn't. After that I spent the next hr in the "Pit" digging. 99% of the DI's & DS's are just doing their job and WANT u to reach your Goal so u stay Safe in the real world. U can do it New Recruits!
In all actuality it really depends on WHO is training you... I have been in the Army for over 6 years and my Battalion was Brutal! I also witnessed other Battalions training that was a walk in the park! It's all about what company you belong to and how they train! Everybody's boot camp experiences are different but mine was "out cold"! I will be happy to battle ANY Marine in training because I ain't no bitch and that's how a TRUE soldier should think no matter what! I am trained to KILL .
Thanks for serving, my dad is x-Army and I chose the Marines, but how could I say anything about the Army when I have so much pride and my dad and his service. army guy here, going to have to say an american fighting force is determined on the strength and personal motivation by it's instructors. Not all DI's and DS's are the same but I see a lot of good stuff here.

I remember at fort benning during our shark attack we had a kid piss him self while in the front leenin rest. My head drill Sgt wouldn't yell for some reason but boy he was the most feared. He didn't have to yell like an idiot. He would calmly tell us to grab jugs of water and then march us out back to a hill. At the time we didn't relies we were in trouble. After 5 hrs of running up and down a hill you start to fear the man not a funny screaming voice

Ive been to boot camp, Camp Pendelton Hotel Co. in 06 and in 09 I went to BCT at fort knox. Only thing i noticed different was more screaming in boot and more pushing in bct.

The head of the Army boot depot, stated that it was necassary to treat it as a family atmosphere. IF I WOULD HAVE ANSWERED TO MY DI like that, I WOULD HAVE BEEN FUCKED. My cousin joined and gained weight in the army .If you join the army either go infantry or nothing, because that's what you going to get. There are diff boots per mos in the Army. @streetracer6rpt Then I guess that's why the Marine Corps are only in areas of dire need. When the situation in Iraq was bad, the Marines were there. When the situation in Afghanistan deteriorated in '08, the Marine Corps pulled out of Iraq and went to Afghanistan.
There's a reason why they say the Marines are the first to fight. We are the only branch that is built to respond to any situation and have boots on the ground in less than 24 hours.
My uncle is 20 years in the Army, and I was talking to him about joining Us Marine Corps, and he asked me a simple question, "Why join the Marine Corps?" I simply replied "If I do join the military I want to be top dog, I want to be Devil Dog."
These two branches are separate for a reason. They each have a different objective within the whole Armed Forces, hence why they are trained differently.

ooooh looks hard...meanwhile, your enemy is sleeping on the ground, walking around and running around barefooted, eating a small meal each day, you know, the really hard stuff. lets not joke ourselves. bootcamp is the easiest part about the military. it is BASIC training which means the simplest part in the beginning of a new career. it is not hard. all one has to do is be able to follow directions and act like a robot without laughing at these clowns. bootcamp, not much of an accomplishment.

my uncle was in blah blah, my granpa was in bleh stfu both military branches have their own methods of training and both build up soldiers how they suppose to and most important WE are the ones putting our lives on the line over in afganistan wether we went to MCRD or BCT,AIT/OSUT dont matter still get deployed for what we are, American Soldiers fighting for the same cause

I remember at fort benning during our shark attack we had a kid piss him self while in the front leenin rest. My head drill Sgt wouldn't yell for some reason but boy he was the most feared. He didn't have to yell like an idiot. He would calmly tell us to grab jugs of water and then march us out back to a hill. At the time we didn't relies we were in trouble. After 5 hrs of running up and down a hill you start to fear the man not a funny screaming voice

The head of the Army boot depot, stated that it was necassary to treat it as a family atmosphere. IF I WOULD HAVE ANSWERED TO MY DI like that, I WOULD HAVE BEEN FUCKED. My cousin joined and gained weight in the army .If you join the army either go infantry or nothing, because that's what you going to get. There are diff boots per mos in the Army. In the Marines you get fucked all together no matter what job. Sad shame on the arm and if any army dog wants to rebuttle plz do.!

@streetracer6rpt Then I guess that's why the Marine Corps are only in areas of dire need. When the situation in Iraq was bad, the Marines were there. When the situation in Afghanistan deteriorated in '08, the Marine Corps pulled out of Iraq and went to Afghanistan.
There's a reason why they say the Marines are the first to fight. We are the only branch that is built to respond to any situation and have boots on the ground in less than 24 hours.

@jungleGSC They are not showing Benning DS, where they train Infantry. It is a totally different ball game when it comes to the other training posts versus Fort Benning. If you saw Fort Benning DS you would think different of the army.
