@kpezpeople most hispanic people in the US are South American or of Mexican decent and have a different dialect than the European Spaniards, many people find that accent more attractive, I can't say one sounds better than the other but a real Spanish accent seems to be much more appreciated. And sadly yes there are a lot ignorant people in general in the US, don't leave it to just the white Americans, because many Americans are arrogant, sadly.
