@ktm016 Bahahaha. I feel sorry for you. That must mean you have never experienced the luxury of their technology such as the magna traction/rocker/camber/banana. That's ok though, some people just aren't ready to experience the awesomeness.
@ktm016 Yea uhhh...what? Lmfao did you even read your post? Not only did you contradict yourself but I never said anything about the "looks" or their "name" you fool. Jesus. You sound like the typical burton consumer.
@ktm016 No problem. You simply tried saying Lib Tech is over priced with a gay name and fugly design. You also implied that (is a completely biased opinion) that it's "mediocre" or "overrated"...You clearly need to do more research and better yet actually try riding one you fucking close minded poser. It's pretty damn obvious you have never experienced magne traction, so until you do...eat your burton consumer piece of shit while I ride in luxury.
@ktm016 Read it again. Just because I didn't blatantly state "this is how..." You're judging a board by it's name/looks while any REAL boarder will test ride it and get a feel for the board before he says it sucks or that it's an awesome board. You sound like a typical fucking fan boy when it comes to boarding. So before you say anything about lib tech or ANY brand for that matter, test ride their boards you dip shit.
WHEN should i wax my snowboard? like how many times should i ride it before i wax? cuz i heard it was bad to do it everytime u go riding so, when should i wax my snowboard?
@mysideofthecouch Depends how many times you go riding. If you go about 4+ days a week then wax about every 2-3 weeks. 3- days a week get it about every month or so.
maybe u been catchin ur edges cuz u suck at snowboarding, lol
nah im kidding, ya ur edges are dull and rounded, which pulls the snow into and over ur board when youre turning.
if you go to a good board shop, you can get a wax done for you for maybe 15 20 bucks, maximum 40.
just a tip though, when you go to get your board waxed, ask the guy whos gunna wax it for u if he snowboards, cuz if he doesnt chances are hes gunna do a shitty job
actually neversummer came out with the evo2. supposedly its the banana killer. oh well. you cant go wrong with small brands like lib, never, academy, rome. fuck corporate snowboarding!
no. we use ass-wax. it is specially made for snowboards. definitely get real ski/snowboard wax. it is a lot harder than candle wax, and they add hardeners to it that make it go fast.
Yes, use a ski/snowboard brush. The bristles are short and will scratch grooves into the fresh wax. (you might be able to find the same brush at a paint store or make on at home)
Deep grooves and gouges should be filled with P-Tex. P-Tex is actually a stick of plastic that most bases are made from, but shaped like a gluestick for a hot glue gun. You drip it into the groove and then have to shave off the excess with a razorblade. definitely search around for more info, doing it yourself is easy. or go to your local shop and they should fix it for $10-20.
Is it bad if the wax hardens up like 5 -15 seconds after you take the iron off that spot. Cause I waxed my board today for the first time and the wax wouldn't stay liquid very long cause it as really cold outside.
It's ok if the wax hardens fast as long as it's spread evenly. Colder temp wax will usually Harden quicker and be a little harder to scrape. good luck, hope the video helped.
i am ver very lazy and dont rlly want to go out and buy the proper stuff to do this job because im on a low budget rite now. so can i use candle wax and a old iron with holes (still in good condition)
also i have just bought a new board at the end of last season and have been doin some lite freestyle..went about 4 times with it...wonderin if it needs to be waxed or sharpened
and last im wondering if it was already waxed when i bought the board?
old iron is ok. old ice scrapper might work. don;t need a brush. but candle wax won't. it will just make you go slower. all new boards come with wax, but it is usually very light and will come off after a few days riding. edges will stay sharp for at least 15 times (or more). rocks and rails will kill edges. try it and go shred.
haha iv heard that said before but you really shouldn't reuse wax because wax helps to pull all the junk out of ur base, and using old wax will just put the junk back in, and makes u go slower...
you could probably use any nylon brush, the bristles are only 1/4 inch, so they are super stiff and perfectly flat, the brush actually cuts tiny grooves in the wax that let the water (melted snow), glide better. The real brush is probably best to have, I think they are only $10. Easier than making one. make sure you have a green brillo/scrubbie pad too. for the final buff. always wipe tip to tail.
a regular iron with holes is ok, just make sure it is kept on low, and doesn't burn the wax. thx
nice vid, once i apply the hot wax iron it spread it even, let it cool for 20 min. then pass the iron again, and let it cool again for 20 min before scraping it. really makes a difference.
it seems like it would work. but candle wax is too soft. it will just slow your board down. I'll try to get eric to do a video explaining why. Although candle wax is perfect for skate curbs.
Try to wax after 3-4 days of shredding. Depending on snow/ice conditions. Sometimes 1 day of cold snow will take all the wax off. you can tell when the base area near the edges gets dry.
Thanks!
